Yah I shoot for 22C on the top leaf… not completely accurate of course just a temp laser, and 18-20C in the bucket for the water temps.
Alien rock candy - dwc experiment
NYC Diesel, they seemed a bit droopy, gave them a bit of the hydro nutes and they were happy again. The one on the left looks like it started flowering but isn’t showing any pistils yet. The one on the right got a top pollinated with the SB.
The Strawberry banana reveg just gave me a pistil, it doesn’t want to reveg.
JLo f3 almost done drying. It smells amazing!
Went to the capital yesterday and like a good tourist I went to eat at Popeyes and got some cookies pre rolls to finally taste the hype. At 18$/ 1g preroll it’s not something I’d get again. It’ll be an early Christmas present to myself.
The soap surprised me, I don’t know why I didn’t expect this but it tasted just like delicious soap lol. It’s pretty loud herb.
I’ll try the Gary Payton today
The Gary Payton was really average…
Alien rock candy, doing really good.
NYC Diesel, probably was a bad idea to plant them together…
The oldest and smallest NYC Diesel is getting nice and thick. The bigger one just started throwing pistils.
The Alien rock candy growing really good. I’m slowly adjusting and raising the ec, every time I have to adjust the ph or water level. The roots are long enough now that a can keep a gap between the net pot and water.
The strawberry banana clone has officially reveged.
Looking great @ELG ! How big is that lil’reveg?
Also nice root porn.
Thanks @Pigeonman ! It’s about 1 inch, the new growth appeared in like 2 days after ~ 1 month.
I’ve been busy and neglected the garden a bit.
NYC Diesel, they drink so much, I barely can keep up.
Strawberry banana clone reveg
SB S1, now sure whatp happened but I think it’s because of the soil I am re using, it might be “empty”. I stuck some chicken manure pellets in the soil, I think it helped.
Alien Rock Candy dwc experiment.
just waiting for my likes back to give the yours !!
beautifull plants, bud!
thanks for sharing !
Okay, i’m done with the dwc experiment. It’s too much maintenance for me. And they way I set it up, it takes half the space in the tent, without the tote I can fit ~ 5 * 7gal grow bags.
NYC Diesel. The oldest one is almost done, trickles start to turn amber. And the bigger one, I’ll kill it if doesn’t impress me by the time I havest the smaller one.
The SB reveg, jut waiting for some branches so I can get some cuts.
SB s1, struggling a bit. I hope it’ll wake up once I transplant it.
Now that there’s a lot more room, so let’s germinate some seeds. The goal is 5 good plants, that gives me around 3-4 months to harvest so I can get things ready for summer in april/may.
- Strawberry banana clone
- Strawberry banana s1, I’ll choose one from 4.
- RK 62 x Diesel Ryder f2 from @Oldtimerunderground , I’ll choose one from 3
- Biscotti pippen, hopefully I get a female from 2 reg seeds.
- To be determined once the NYC Diesel gets cut.
They are hanging vertically from a tent bar above the lights so they get some heat.
All the seeds were put in solo cups, only one of the SB s1 had a root. I think it’s too cold for them to germinate in the paper towels, I have a feeling they’ll do better in soil. This time I’m using fresh soil, I’ll keep the old soil for the outdoors plants this summer.
The SB mother reveg
SB s1. Maybe it’s so small because of the small size of the mother
NYC Diesel. I decided to keep the bigger one the frost finally showed up. I’ll chop the smaller one in a week or two, still waiting to get more amber.
Happy new year
I’m a bit worried. I think the strawberry banana clone and the first s1 popped have TMV. They are presenting both symptoms lightly (leaf variegation and leaf curl), the s1 also grows kind of slow… maybe? Possible sources: cigarettes(I’m generally wash my hands after smoking anything, maybe I forgot once or a few times) or genetics (see this post).
Since the virus can stay dormant for some time, i’m also worried the pollen genes might be infected, so @Oldtimerunderground and @bassman5420 please be carefull and maybe pause any breeding project to avoid further contamination in case it really is tmv. I’ll still grow the s1’s to collect more data. I’d also like to apologize in advance for wasting your time guys I feel horrible…
It could also be nothing or anything, the marking/colors seem to blend over time and it could also be that the virus is in the soil I reused (no clue if that’s possible) for the first s1 popped, so if no other S1 shows symptoms it could be the soil. Also the progeny might be able to grow with no problem other then light symptoms of tmv. Maybe only the s1’s are affected and not the crosses made with the pollen. I like to touch my plants and the others aren’t showing any sign of tmv, so I don’t know… I’m a bit lost. I’ll go get the growers handbook there must be something about tmv there (just checked and nope, nothing)
Edit: fuck I also grew tobacco this year…
I will be interested to see how your plant pulls through and acts. I currently have seeds forming on 1 branch of each 4 plants in my 4x4 tent.
Gonna get that shit tested for pathogens?
I don’t think so, it’s kinda expensive. I’ll do some observation. I’m thinking the best would be to force flowering of the infected plants to see what are the actual consequences of the infection. If the virus is only visually present on the 2 plants then there are chances the pollen is clean and the infection happened recently. Growing the hybrids made by OTUG is another way to see if the infection was genetic, I’m still waiting for those to pop.
Hey @ELG, no need to apologize brother, it’s all good with me. Can you post a pic of what it looks like?
I’ll pop some of those seeds now too, so we can see. I’ve smoked tobacco for 23 years, and have been growing cannabis almost as long. Only ever seen it on 1 plant, and it turned out male and got chopped. Since then I’ve wondered if it’s possible for it to get transferred through the pollen, so this will be a good test to find out.
Edit. I have 4 notsodog headband x chem d csi beans that @corey gifted me growing right now, with one showing variegated leaves. So if any of those seeds I made with the pollen you sent show signs of tmv, it should make a good comparison against the variegated leaves of the 1 csi plant, because I feel like that may be an area of confusion/misdiagnosis for some growers.
It is fairly expensive, I’ll admit. They do seem to indicate you can scan for it as well. I would really love it if someone could test positive so I could get a sample. It has to be a positive test or else I have nothing to go on.
