Yup yup. I’m still in a red state. I understand that the more legal it becomes the more traffic we are going to get.
I don’t like change either. It’s going to happen but we could try to curb the BS.
Overgrow is great because there barely any Riff Raf and no trolling. I see trolls shut down really fast.
If I don’t know you, your not getting seeds. That’s just what it comes down to. Come join the chat ask some questions. Be apart of the community.
I think people are referred here from other people because we are a great group of people that are for the most part like minded and love to help people out. “HEY you need seeds huh? I hear they they give out seeds every day at Overgrow.” 
This is what I’m afraid of. No longer a community any more. It becomes a free seed dispensary. We are not there yet. I can see it happening.

All this is doing is arguing back and forth and this is why I wrote this in my personal journal. Didnt want this made into a thread. Real thanks for making a post in my name, real appreciated their. This is why I had this in my journal for only those who follow me to see which I had moved to private. And not a community post for people to come argue like I’m somebody on here.

Yeah and it seems like people are implying that I’m totally opposed to people getting seeds. Which I’m not. But I didn’t even have a choice in making this thread because the all powerful leader did, made a thread in my name from private journal.

Just my .02 but I don’t think people think that.
I am newer, as you know, and have been grabbing seeds when I can (started at 0). But I try to fully participate. Even I am annoyed by the dib-n-dashers, and it’s only been a couple months.
And raiding your journal was not the right move. Joe should have just started the topic himself, after seeing the traction you post was getting in your journal.

I wouldn’t call this arguing, it seems like a discussion where some good thoughts and ideas are being presented. I don’t see anybody taking offence to the suggestions, in fact, if they didn’t like a suggestion I see some have offered counter-suggestions.
In the end its a community here. Some people read alot, and barely post. Some post alot. But you can tell the takers, they don’t participate at all. To me there’s a difference. They tend to be the same people that take a donation, and then sell it, not because they needed to put food on the table, but because they wanted the newest tech gadget out there. And to me, thats not the spirit of this place. I’m not giving to them, just so they can profit. Even more-so if they don’t participate. Don’t feel comfortable starting a journal, fine, at least comment on posts, interact with people. If all their posts are begging for freebies, call em for what they are!!

Your deffinetly not the issue, you have a journal, participate in multiple threads. Nothing wrong with collecting some seeds.

I’m a newbie here for sure, and I didn’t read your post like that. The way it came across to me is participate and help build the community, and the seeds shall flow. And kick the riff-raff to the curb. And I’m ok with that, I’d rather read 100 posts detailing peoples problems and maybe learn something myself than read 100 posts of begging. just my .02…

Hi @zephyr, Thank you for the well wishes, I am still alive, hurting, but alive. This leukemia and 10 months of chemo are zapping all my energies.
I have pulled back from here due to, what I perceive, the influx of rudeness. When I first joined this site you could feel the love, respect, kindness and brotherhood. Something changed, maybe it’s me. I got tired of the hate that is pervasive in our political environment and when it started to rear it’s ugly head in here, I quietly backed away.
An example is the April Preservation Box; MOTR was awesome in here. She gave more than she took. I donated $70 for shipping materials and postage to help send seeds to OGers falling on hard times. I don’t care about the money or seeds, I want to know if MOTR is OK. I see comments that make me sick, it seems humanity and compassion are lost over a few seeds.
This thread shows I’m not the only one that feels this way. Hopefully, with this awareness, the environment will improve.
Again, I thank you, zephyr, for being a compassionate soul.

I believe dang near everyone here realizes that you did not want to “create” this conversation to make waves or hate on people.
Your post on your own thread just pointed out the wave that many already saw and they (myself included), wanted very much for this conversation to take place. I’m very new here so I kept my mouth shut. I figured if this is the norm then it is what it is. I’m sorry I missed the golden days if so.
But we understand you were not pushing for this friendly, needed discussion.
I know arguing, this isn’t it.

I myself and many other truly appreciate you bringing this up. I would take the “heat” if I could. Obviously this is something that has been on the minds of many members that have been here for a bit. Heck I’ve only been back a little over a year and I can see it.

To me, the herb is about sharing. Always was, always will be. I have never sold so much as a dime, but I’ve given away much more. But sharing is a two way street for me, and I’m not saying “here’s some of mine, gimme some of yours”. Instead, if I shared with you, I expect the courtesy and respect of a conversation at least, maybe hang out, catch up. If I was sharing, and you came, grabbed and went, well thats not a two way street any longer. What did I get out of the encounter? Ya feel me? And I don’t want someone to come, pay for it, and leave, thats SO not my gig, like I said, never sold, no plans to… So… the givers / takers rule… I’m old, I’ve seen it in every facet of life sadly, not just here. But I’m new here and don’t like to ruffle feathers. You eventually know who the friends are, and who to leeches are… And leeches don’t share…
