eS' Super Small Tent Perpetual Autobonsai MinMaxing

Time for an update on the other plants.

Dutch Passion Banana Blaze Auto wet main cola, very quickly trimmed, sadly its a bit polluted with coco…

The AK420 seedlings are also doing very well, all of them seem happy and growing quickly. Interestingly, #5 seems to be “self topping”, as it stopped making nodes after the first one, check this out:

AK420#3 is still lagging behind alot, and #7 has grown out of its leaf deformations.

The 4 seeds from Amsterdam Genetics all germinated, with #1 having issues shedding its seed shell.

Cheers!

I love the training in the first few pics with zip ties. That was perfection.

I have been harvesting some more of my outdoor plants, and the coco on the buds is really out of control, especially the lower buds on indica plant…

I’m gonna need to find a better solution for this, I hope anyone of you has a good tip!

Thanks to the wonderful folks here at the forum, I have found a solution to my problems, if anyone is interested, here is the thread

Now for the update on the AK420 breeding project, as promised, time for the transplant of the 5 most healthy and nice ones, number #3 is discarded, #5 and #7 are still around but I didnt transplant them.

Testing a new soil mix for the final containers, the mix is:

  • 20L coco
  • 5L perlite
  • 5L wormcompost
  • 500 Grams inoculated biochar

Watered in with Rhizotonic, Enzyme (both from Canna), BioTechnology Elycitor (contains many Mycorrhizae and other useful elements and microorganisms) and Agrobacterias Auto bacteria (I’m quite sceptical of this product but its was cheap so :man_shrugging:)

Looks like some good sh!t to me

Making an imprint of the small container in the new soil and adding the last layer of pure coco on top.

Sprinkling small amount of IBA rooting powder on the spot where the plant will be placed

A bunch of white and healthy roots, they have enough integrity to keep the block together after just 2 weeks.

The plants in their new containers

Had to do some tetris in the tent to get it all to fit without turning on the lights in the 2nd layer, but here we go:

Have a great weekend everyone and cheers!

We have life!

All of @joheimgrohen Froyo S1 seeds germinated, sadly the soil on plant #2 with 75% wormhumus was too compacted, and the plant died, it did germinate however! Strangely enough the survivor #1 on wormhumus is looking the most healthy and vigorous of the bunch, make of that what you will :man_shrugging:.

Outdoor glory, thanks guys!!

AK420 transplants all made it

Ive also updated the Skywalker Haze DWC log.

Cheers and happy weekend,

The first two rows are bone dry, the last row is already watered in with 100ml water with Rhizotonic, Enzyme and Start

As I found out in eS' Super Small Tent Perpetual Autobonsai MinMaxing - #27 by EnergySlammers, the mix with coco and wormhumus was too compacted, potentially killing seedlings, however, the one that survived is looking very healthy and happy (it still is :D).

So I took some leftover mix from:

And I sieved it with a kitchen sieve, it now has a very fine and powdery texture, similar to coffee.

Some testing of new seed propagation technique, I had these transparant 10x10x5cm cube containers for seed blocks, but as they are transparent, algae form on the outside, so I switched to the IKEA NOJIG ones. But that got me an idea, what if I use them as little humidity domes? I also made some new labels from corrugated plastic, I think they look very neat , check it out:

I planted a whole variety of seeds:

  • Sweet Seeds Jet Fuel Mandarin XL auto
  • Sweet Seeds Tropicanna Poision XL auto
  • Anesia Blueberry Banana auto
  • Amsterdam Genetics AK020 auto
  • Amsterdam Genetics White Choco auto
  • SSSC Creeper auto
  • Dutch Passion OMG auto
  • @joheimgrohen 's Froberry auto
  • @joheimgrohen 's Cookies Creme auto

Next update:

  • Start the hall of fame
  • Show progress of current projects

Time for a harvest update, when I just started this thread, @Organical asked what the yield would be for the plants in the smaller containers. The “reference” plant has now finished, and I harvested it. It spent a few weeks outside so that might skew the result a little bit, but nothing too major as the plant is limited by its container size.

Ref plant (Dutch Passion Banana Blaze Auto, its an Afghan pheno) before, and after (I forgot to take a nice pic because I am dumb…):

After some trimming:

Very happy with it, gonna weigh the yield when its dry, but I can smoke quite a few days from that  .

Also harvested my Orange Critical Punch auto in a very small container, I have kept on the pollinated branch to let the seeds fully develop (chucked with Joheim’s Froyo autofem pollen):

Very, very nice yield for such a small plant! Look at that

Cheers!

Very cool and looks like a nice little yield there! I’ll be curious at the final weigh-in  . Thanks for the tag too!

Ok friends time for another update.

Starting with bad news on the AK420 selection, when I made the soil mix, I made it too wet.

So they are now looking a bit sad, despite not watering them since the transplant (container still quite heavy too), them seem to be recovering, but are a bit stunted, also I made an oopsie with plant #6, a fan fell on it.

#1 and #2, the two most healthy looking ones

Plants #3 and #6, the latter looking really sad because of the fan, but its still alive.

Plant #8, strangely beautiful coloration on the leafs due to the transplant and overwatering.

Update on the coco + wormcompost (unsieved) mix test for seedlings

I have selected the 3 most healthy ones, one from each mix ratio, the one on 100%coco (both of them) is lagging behind a small amount, the one on 33% mix is the avarage, and the one on 75% is the most healthy (but its sister died to soil compaction, or not sieving).

Left to right; 100% coco, 66% coco & 33% wormhumus, 25% coco & 75% wormhumus

One of the (not shown) plants in the 33% mix has whorled phyllotaxy, check it out:

Other small updates:

The little humidity domes seem to work amazing, after less than 48 hrs the first one was showing its head!

This branch was pollinated with Froyo pollen I got from @joheimgrohen , the rest of the plant has since been harvested, if I squish the bud, I can feel some seeds, but they seem small still. Is that an issue of having pollinated the plant too late?

Hazeeeeeeeee, the smell is really amazing after rubbing one of the sugar leaves, I have updated the haze log.

Cheers,
eS!

As long as you had white pistils, she could still take pollen. It’s going to take 5-6 weeks for the seeds to mature properly, maybe longer.

Okay thank you, I pollinated them a few weeks ago, it still had many white pistils so that should be ok. I’ll be patient and wait for the seeds to fully develop.

What I have done in the past, which may not be an option for you with such a small pollination, is remove a single calyx that has a harder center and see how developed the seed is, should give you a idea of how much longer they’ll need.

Ah yeah good idea, the nug is indeed a bit fiddly, but I’ll see if I can do it with some really small pliers.

Thanks again for the pointers.

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of harvesting and knowing you’ll have plenty to enjoy for days.

Another great writeup eS! You give a wonderful snapshot into your grow every time

Those pesky fans just falling from the sky! Sorry they took a hit there, but they don’t look out for the count yet!

Got to looking closer, your whorled phylotaxy up there kind looks more like a triploid.

Well heck, whatever happened with the SSSC Creeper auto? This was the first time I’ve seen someone growing it.
