Ever Been on TV?

This is not a trick. No need to disclose anything you don’t want.

So, anyone ever been on TV? Movies count too.

I was on muchmusic (yes I’m old) for about 30 seconds and I was one of many featured in a documentary about exercise.

I will keep my Maury Povitch experiences to myself.

I starred in the background of a Sears Weatherbeater paint commercial filmed at Henry Ford’s Winter Home.

It’s a major award.

Does a hula hoop contest on Popeye’s Playhouse with Skipper Chuck count?

Careful I hear they take it away if you slap someone.

And yes, it totally counts.

This probably does not count, but it’s my only prime time TV appearance.

Back in the early ‘90s I would volunteer to work on a local begathon, at the Palm Beach Fl PBS station.
Taking pledges on the phone. Crank calls with a big TV camera hovering nearby was
pure joy.
I even got to meet Tom Carvel, the founder of Carvel Ice Cream.

Been interviewed by the news for a shooting of a cyclist. Was on TV for about 10 seconds.

Yeah man I’ve been there 5-6 times and each time there was some issue. My ex-wife was a victim of a snatch and grab by smashing a car window when she was stopped at a light.

Also she got hit by a police car. That was a good one.

I did enjoy the mediocre surf though. And those Cuban sandwiches.

I made the news! lol, but it wasn’t for anything special.

Where I lived at the time, we couldn’t buy the “fun” fireworks that exploded, but they were legal in Texas. I was visiting family in San Antonio when I was in 8th grade, and on my way to the airport for my return flight, we stopped at a fireworks stand. I was buying as much as I could pack into my luggage (yes, this was a long time ago!), and a news crew showed up to do a story on fireworks stands. They filmed me buying my fireworks, then interviewed me afterwards.

Sorry, no autographs :sunglasses:

Wow horrible to hear at least she wasn’t hurt. I’ve been robbed at gunpoint and also robbed Christmas eve. This is in the best neighborhood in Miami.
The shooting of the cyclist, I heard they had bad blood to begin with due to some money situation. Who know though not worth someone’s life for a few bucks. Crazy people out there, everyone stay safe!

She was shakey but fine.

Worst part: they got her passport which is a huge headache.

Best part: the thieves went on a spending spree of $8 at Taco Bell and $14 at McDonald’s.

So the moral of the story is that crime pays…for a Happy Meal.

I had an interview on the news when I was very young. We found a body half way down the Scarborough bluffs. She was a 78 year old lady who wandered away from her care home. Was quite sad.

Only if local community cable counts. I held minor elected office for a little while and that was taped and put out on the local CATV channel and online. When I was at Disney World as a kid someone came up and asked if I wanted to tell a joke on TV but I was shy and said no. Oh, and just after Katrina one of the national morning shows asked if they could drive me in to do an interview, but I don’t trust the media to not spin things and I was feeling pretty critical of the federal government’s response (not a wingnut, just realistic about the media having a story they want to tell and editing interviews to suit their intended message).
