👨🏽‍🌾 Farmer Pigeonman (OR): How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Indoor Growing

Grapefruit Juice: I’m told it’s an old cut. I got it from a very reliable friend and the same he gave me a few months ago was fantastic and the most grapefruit tasting thing I’ve ever had.

Purple Kush (Pre99’): I’m told this cut was walked across the border and into BC by a grower around 1999 and it’s been cloned ever since. It’s my buddies daily smoke for over a decade.

Still only under 12/12, the Nepali Watermelon Hashplant foot-bath seed plants are all moving along.

You prob noticed the 4th cup! Yep one more seed popped a week into sitting under the dome.

It’s a little smaller than the initial three of course but it’s still got time to champion itself.

:seedling:  :seedling:

The GMO + Pink Lemonade #2 "MOONROCKS* project is growing along well!

From Left to Right: GMO / GMO / Pink Lemonade / GMO

Every week I shift them over by 1. A few weeks ago PL#2 was on the farthest left, then teleported last week to farthest right, and this week it’s the second from the right. This is so they all get equal amount of time under the middle “sweet spots” of the SF2000 through the grow. :+1:

This weekend after the day long vending at Pagan Fest with the Mrs I’ll be LSTing them and then one more week of veg feed to fill in a little more and then to 12/12.

Both are 8-9 weeks so they’ll finish at the same time or I’ll just openly shame and mock the ones that are delayed to hurry the fuck up.

Me too! I need to up-pot this and the grapefruit juice to grow them both out some more and then take cuts for clones (and to share) and once I have a solid mom I’ll flower out this plant and see what’s what!

I got a lanyard for my jewellers loupe so I’m walking around the yard scoping my flowers like the gems they are

It looks so vigorous, with nice internode spacing, for a PK-- I will hope its the Garberville cut which smells like bubba kush and tastes like concord grape juice :crossed_fingers:
And, grapefruit is DELICIOUS!!! Nice acquisitions Pigeonman.
Can you take pics through your loupe?

I could but for that I have a Bluetooth microscope.

Another week and another steady stream of growth in my indoor fields.

I flipped the 3x GMO and 1x Pink Lemonade #2 to 12/12 on Saturday so I get to count down 8-9 weeks until I get to see how these plants grow out under complete controlled conditions.

Here are the 4 plants.

I’ve decided they have shaped themselves so I’m not gonna bother LSTing them as they’re already doing their thing.

On the other side, the 2x4 is crammed with all the clones.

I was supposed to thin the herd today picking the selections for new mother plants but the weather demanded I jump into trim jail to save some of my outdoor crop from going bad so this process with happen through the week.

After picking, I’m gonna give some of these plants away to friends that want them and I’ll flower out whatever doesn’t find a home.

Upstairs the Nepali Watermelon Hashplant F3’s are doing well.

The smaller one is one week behind the other three but is catching up. I’ve also increased their feed to full strength sterile salts with yucca and B-52.

I’m going to start using my home made humics soon. My usual go-to nutrient mix has it’s own fulvic acid in there so I’m going to now use just veg parts a+b and then the homemade mixes as the rest.

It’s gonna be a rad as fuck test!

Now that the plants have established enough I’m pushing the lights jumping from around 100 ppfd which already was low to 337 ppfd.

The plan is to keep taking readings at canopy level as I hope the plants grow into the higher ppfd range as they grow closer to the light.

Once they start to get too close I’ll keep lifting the lamp… I’ve got room.

Have a great night everyone!

LONG DAY so VERY LATE POST

In short my niece hurt her arm in gymnastics and my sis needed to take her to the hospital to make sure there was no break. In short it took 5 hours for them to x-ray her arm and confirm there’s no major damage.

:+1:

The Nepali Watermelon Hashplants are nearing a month of life and are showing sex which took this one out of the tent:

This leaves these three which all look female so far.

They are behaving so far which makes me wonder what surprises they have in store down the road. 11-13 weeks is a long time in a solo cup  .

Downstairs the 3x GMO and 1x Pink Lemonade #2 are 7 days into 12/12.

I missing 2x fans for these tents and was waiting for a sale but since it’s “fall” I prob should just bite the bullet and get them sooner anyways.

In the MedCab 2x4 I finally did the work and made the selects where I now have 1x of each strain.

This also made me realize I need to map out a solid mom routine in my calendar or risk fucking shit up as there’s a lot of moms.

These are the duplicate/triplicates that I will do a combo of giving away to friends and flowering out because why not.

All the best folks!

Well we’re down to 2x Nepali Watermelon Hashplant solocups as a second just showed  's.

I added a second air movement fan into the 2x4 MedCab which has made all the mothers dance and it feels much nicer in there for it.

I have no idea how or why but I found SPIDER MITES in my 2x4 with the GMOs and Pink Lemonade #2 :man_facepalming:

I soaked em all in Safers End All and turned off the light. Will turn back on in a few hours and will spray every other day for at least a week.

Pistils have just started to show up so I’m not freaked out but I haven’t seen these fuckers in YEARS and was hoping not to for a while.

Thanks @luxton !

I’m hoping being relentless with the End All will nip those bugs in the butt fast!

On other project news, since I have made my mom selects I picked 6 plants to flower out.

They are all lookers and I’m hoping for the best.

All the best everyone!

damn bugs man… I’m going on 3 or 4 months fighting with thrips… I’m at the point that I want to tear down my grow and boil all my hydroton :rage:

Boiling the hydroton balls makes some sense…
Probably simmering at 80C for 10 min would guarantee they are sterile. Hard boiling might damage the balls.

Where else could they be hiding?

Cheers

Either the hydroton, or the fabric pots… I can’t think of where else they’d be :person_shrugging:
