Fem Autoflower breeding project by azseaindooin420

Well the directions say every 4 days until first male flowers form, guess it was a poorly worded question but was trying to ask if it’s about 2 weeks till they form? So I’d be expecting maybe 3 treatments? Also should I plastic off my soil so none gets in there?

I think I’ve done 3 treatments most times. I haven’t done it tons of times yet. A handful tho. Yea I would cover the soil with something while spraying, and leave it until the plants dry fairly well. The 2 that died, went down over night. It was fast, and it was ugly. Not sure what else coulda caused that. I think I read someplace before hand not to let it drop on the soil, and had been covering it, but forgot the first time. 2nd time i didn’t forget, but maybe was careless, I’m not sure…

I used this instructions. Its every 5 days. But theres a misprint that’s pretty important. It gives directions for a quart, and says the linked sprayers are a quart, but they are pints.

Ya the 5 days I was seeing was for sativa and 3 days for indicas, it being a hybrid I’d guess 4 would be ideal? Good to know on protecting the soil. Guess my last question is should I be giving the plant darkness during the treatment?

I did it at dark, just thinking it wouldn’t evaporate as fast. But I don’t know if it matters. I do add a small squirt of dawn dish soap like some sites say to do. It keeps it from beading up and rolling off the leaves.

Do u guys know which the Sebring kit contains whether it’s the sodium Thiosulfate Anhydrous or the Sodium Thiosulfate Pentahydrate? Looks like there is different ratios for em

Maybe this would easily be answered by @DougDawson or @JohnnyPotseed or @repins12 or @ReikoX

Sodium Thiosulfate Pentahydrate

If you examine the contents, you’ll notice a big difference between the two cuz. The Anhydrous is crystalline powder, whiile Pentahydrate is large crystals. The Penta has five molecules of water added.
Sebring usually went with the Anhydrous, so without seeing the contents, I’d venture to say that’s what you’re dealing with.

Looking at what @DougDawson just posted, it’s the Pentahydrate. That’s not what he sent to me. Take a pic to post of it, please.

It looks like I had it backwards lol my bad cuz

@DougDawson I seen the pic but didn’t want to assume that’s for sure which it was

Both responses are conflicting 🤷 hate to screw up this project from wrong ratios

Looking at the pics it’s like a mix of both

Definitely confusing there. I can’t say what it is myself. Not sure if I’d bother using it without knowing which.
It’s inexpensive on Amazon, I’d just buy more then you know what you’re dealing with.

A mix of both isn’t something you’d normally see cuz. It has to be one or the other for any mix made to work. Due to the different proportions.

$31.67 counting tax, free shipping ,Amazon (of course) got both STS and CS

There’s a better pic with a macro lens

So in theory we would know for sure the big chunks are anhydrous going off the info provided? I’m only making small batch of 500ml each so couldn’t I pick out the big ones and go for that ratio of 2.5 grams per 500ml?

You could try that, sounds logical to me lol

Like I said, as far as I know, Sebring preferred the Anhydrous. But he has used both in demonstrations, if I remember right. He posted different recipes for each on you-tube

I just found it’s easier to order the premade mix, no muss no fuss.

Well it’s all just timing, the “studs” were Born Christmas and need to get em sprayed and my work schedule has me out of town till after the weekend, wanted to get the deed done today and get the show on the road

Maybe this will help

:v:t4:
I never had much luck with the premade stuff, myself including the colloidal silver premade. Now the stuff that I made myself, STS and colloidal silver both worked

I’ve watched the videos bro, the question is what does he have in this container, if u look at the whiteboard in the thumbnail he’s got both listed with the different ratios for each one

That’s the recipe using Anhydrous, like I said, that seemed to be his preference

@AzSeaindooin420 being pressed for time, I understand your situation cuz. I’d just go with the Anhydrous recipe, in this case. But it’s up to you.

The Thiosulfate can come in many forms, and from different companies, it can look different. Also if handled awhile, the larger crystals could break down.

Prob would be the safer bet, appears to be the weaker ratio by weight of the two so if anything I would be to weak vs too strong, lil safer bet imo

How often or how many times do you plan on spraying?
You can always get the program started, buy the ready-made mix, to continue the program. Then the plants won’t be wasted if too weak solution at first.

My first try with STS, I burnt the crap outta them gals! lol Live and learn

way too strong a mix, i used the Penta with the Anhydrous recipe, lol
