Fem Autoflower breeding project by azseaindooin420

I haven’t tried the grove bags but sounds like that’s the way to go for a simple cure! Those plants don’t look to shabby my first was a jack herer auto that was just one big 4 gram nug lol I too stunted it

Ya I usually stunt them

I grew an auto simpy called “Fruit” and it turned out not to be an auto. When I chopped it the smell coming off of her almost made me throw up and gave me a headache. I kept the harvest since it was pretty damn large. After a couple of months curing…the fruit terps finally came out. So strange

Ya it’s crazy howr the smells change during curing

Congrats! Ive only managed to either stunt or not get quite right so far 2/4. I have one I up potted to late and I knew it so it stunted but had enough support to kick out nicely

and my worse growing now bbp is the only thing that helped this girl and have my best going to date in 5gal soil white crack I can’t wait! Defol soon to come

Ya even stunted they can be some chonkers. Those look real good

Ya those don’t look to bad at all!

Lifta! Haha I literally havent done shit but throw em in grow bags and water em once a week, haven’t even given em a compost tea or anything for feeding on this round and everything looks great 🤷 really is a great example of more doing less, that and I thing all the runs and teas my soil has seen is prob keeping it heavily microbe charged

Ya the middle one was 6" tall when started throwing pistils still not the worse. That one is a choker and is starting to cloud yay!

this is my best by far. My first 3 autos I pulled 5.25 oz so ya stunted can still can bulk up lol

Autos fascinate me. There’s a dude on this site that swears his auto creation is capable of giving you a psychedelic trip but won’t let anyone give it a whirl to verify it. That fruit auto made me hate them since it took 16 weeks from seed to harvest and stunk like a hobo’s taint suffering from a case of swamp ass. To admiration because I have not seen anything I’ve grown put out so much product AND change its smell/flavor profile within a couple of months.

Apologies for not stopping by as much as this thread deserves @AzSeaindooin420 My attention span gets spread very thin on this site with SO much to learn and chasing down answers.

Ur getting better yields on ur stunted autos than I get out my healthy ones, if I see an oz a plant I’m happy but average 3/4 usually , you done good fine sir!

I still have 16 of those “fruit” seeds. It wasn’t the strongest weed but tasted great which made it a great daytime smoke for me. I just don’t know if I wanna run it again since I’m looking for harder hitting stuff AND I’m not sure if they are gonna “auto” for me like I paid for them to be.

Oh ok then why thank you! Maybe it was the different parents coming through cause one was 34" but kinda air the other 2 were squat but leaf tucking and last pulled them through. So maybe I didn’t stunt was just different pheno lol.:rofl::rofl: Seriously I’ve been trying to figure out what went wrong wow yep it’s in my name noob.

@AzSeaindooin420 reading what you said about it taking 4 generations to stabilize an auto. Is this for any strain you wish to take from photo to auto? Does it matter whether the mom or dad is the auto strain you are starting off with?

Yes for any strain and doesn’t matter which parent was the auto(aa) or photo(AA)

Photo is dominant trait (AA)
Auto is recessive(aa)
fast finish photo is (Aa)
Cross AA with aa and heres what u get

Now take the cross of any of the offspring Aa x Aa and you get

What u see in that cross is 25% AA (photoperiod) 50% aA aka Aa which is fast finish photo and 25% (aa) auto

Now take the found autos and cross them aa x aa and you have

And now the resulting 4th generation you should have a stabilized auto that u can continue honing in on other traits phenohunting for what ur looking for in an auto and why typically f5-f7 is typically the better generations to grab cuz the desirable traits the breeder was looking for are typically present

So it appears that it would take between 3-5 years to get a stable representation of what you originally started out to make. How far to you go before you stop before you witness inbreeding depression if you believe in that from your experience?

It seems about right about the 3 gallon being the pinnacle of useable space and resources when growing autos. I’ve grown some in 5 gallon and 7 gallon bags and the pots were not as filled with roots as the 3 gallon. Plus, never got more than about an ounce per plant. I thought I was just growing them crappy until I read your comment about that being a decent amount if grown in soil organically.

I think of all the autos I have the ones I’m most curious about growing are the Cosmic Afghani (Jalalabad Star) originally from Exsitu but being peddled by Cosmic Wisdom Seeds. I have a hard time falling asleep and this sounds like it may help me.

Well just depends on the grower and the length of their grows, start a photo in 12/12 and just like an auto after 3-4 weeks its gonna start to flower once it’s sexually mature so u can take a photo and have it finished in 3 months or close to in some cases. So I wouldn’t necessarily say that many years but rather 4-6 solid grows hunting. Can’t say I’ve got any experience with inbreeding depression that I can comment on it

Ya 3 gallon seems to be that just right fit for em across the board, some strains might benefit from more but generally not enough to make the extra space and soil worthwhile

Can’t say I’ve heard of that one, anything indica leaning and leaving it an extra couple weeks should give you a nice knockout strain. Always good to remember the earlier u pick it in the season the more energetic the high and the longer u leave it the more couch lock and sedating it’s gonna be. Had an la confidential photo that I didn’t realize was a 46 day strain and picked it at 9 weeks (62 day) and 2 hits and I could barely keep my eyes open ready for sleep everytime I smoked it

Have you tried crossing two of the light colored ones together yet? Weird inheritable traits always get my attention

@AzSeaindooin420 If I had to guess why theres less traction in the thread that you’d expect, it would be the season. Is there a lul in posts in general when US is in winter? It may also be somewhat the nature of what your doing. Like, theres not a single variety to chat about, or any issues to diagnose. Your just kinda killing it with a ton of different stuff, so I imagine there are lots just enjoying the show.

I personally just keep picturing you hanging over the canopy like the dad from honey I shrunk the kids when he’s looking for his tiny children in the backyard while hanging from his contraption. How do you water? Just pulling 10 pots from the middle for a walk path, then putting them back when ur done?

Haha saying you should have sprayed them 2 weeks earlier, you’re doing the same exact run I did a few months ago! I got 6 weeks into flower and finally got some pollen to come loose. Ended up only seeding one clone as the rest had already flowered too far. I think flipping the pollen donor 3 weeks earlier than the rest might be the ticket

yikes. Were you using sts or silver? I’ve done it twice on autos without timing out the donors differently. Its not perfect timing, but still got it done. Silver seems to flip their sex slower than sts
