First grow fem ww

Let them be for now.

They too will bounce back.

Now 3 are drooping. The 2 that were drooping yesterday are really drooping.
Is this normal after transplant? Or did I do something wrong? Tamping too much, not enough? Watering to much or not enough.
Temps/RH to high or to low?

NO. :fearful:

Did you drench these things. Sounds like they are dry as chips.

Drench!

If you have drenched these things, we may have trouble. Either the heat did / or continues to do real damage, soil is not accepting water properly, or has been so over-watered that there is no oxygen in the soil.

If you drenched, please smell the bottom of the container. Hoping it still smells ok.

Should I add anything to water? Or just use the water I bought plain?

First, pick up containers, are they light, or really heavy?

If watering, no, just drench. Once they have sat for a little bit, we’ll feed.

You mentioned you bought drinking water which had very low pH (high acidity). If soil is moist, we may have lock out occurring too, but I am still thinking they are parched.

Pictures too, please!

Looking dry.

What is your watering method.

Be ready to soak these. 3-4 gallons of water needed. pH balance to 6.0 and go.

Actually more like 2 gallons.

I hate it when they are so sad. I agree they look dry. If that is from root damage the leaves will start browning and dying back.

Try and introduce the water at about a cup at a time to each plant. Spread the water around to wet the entire surface. After the 3rd & 4th cups of water. Place your ear (no joke) to the container. Listen to the soil soaking in air.

About 10% of what you add, should come out the bottom as run off. This run off is cherished by most vigorous house plants (water it down before use).

Freshly re-potted. Thinking didn’t get enough of a soaking at transplant. Not sure yet.

You & I both appear to have the same pH meter, which also has an inaccurate Moisture Level Meter. These will give you a rough idea of how wet things are at the bottom of the container, but I am hoping you will learn the feel of the weight of dry plants so that going forward, its a matter of “touch”.

Yeah I just use the cheap meter for a heads up and than I pick them up. They are already perking up. I watered 1 gal in the 4 - 3 gal pots before I left and 2 hours later they had already got a little happy.

I love all you guys.

In looking back at prior Root Ball pics, I wonder if we aren’t having some dry pockets forming in the root balls. When you pulled the plants from the previous containers, did you have any dry material come out with the root ball, maybe even drop away from the root ball?

If you think this is happening, place the containers in 1" of water, this will soak them thoroughly. Shouldn’t need more than a minute under the water. After doing this, refrain from watering until the containers start to dry and to lighten up.

Tomorrow I think I would feed these plants with the kelp top dress and some of the fish fertilizer. Just enough water to feed, not too much. If the plants are still lagging, they will not be able to pull the water up and we could get into an oxygen/soil problem.

I am hoping this dry spell will be a distant memory by later tomorrow.

Only the top soil fell away except on the little one that wasn’t root bound.

I did top dress with kelp and fish the day I transplanted. The bottoms of the container smell OK other than a little fishy. Should I still do it again tomorrow.

Yes, let’s get these plants back in the passing lane.

There are many on this site who feed their plants every time they water. I think straight up water about half the times and some food maybe half the time seems to work ok. Sorry about the fishy smell. This is better than the smell of root rot, a little any way.

Sounds like things are on the mend. Glad to hear. Post lots of pics. If I miss something, or am stuck in traffic, someone will scoop you up.
