All your plants look great considering the heat you’ve had there!
Hopefully the beans I sent land soon.
Hey man, I love the greenery in your garden.
Hey Tlander!
The garden looks amazing as always.
I love all the big ass buds!!
Growing these exotics sure is a far cry from those monsters you have going.
Hoping some of these new strains can produce some big ones for us.
I sure do have a bunch going!! hahahaha
That varigation is so cool on that one as well. I had one last year that looked very similar I’ll try to find a photo.
Im really happy the Popsicles is treating you right! I love that one as well.
Well back to work I go, Try not to overheat man!
Ive been taking electrolytes these past few days as I can’t seem to keep down enough water.
Cheers bro!
555! Thanks bro. It’s pretty weird to have plants in full-on bud stage, standing beside still vegging plants and seedlings just getting started! While it means it’s hard to keep an eye on everything, I have to admit I kinda like it! Biggest worry now is stuff that’s already in full flower wanting to revert to veg. Gonna be fun to watch these in 15-30 gallon bags and how they perform compared to the 3 gallon square pots. I think I counted about 8-10 of the faux Mac1 x AVC in Solo’s now, will have to see if they land in 3 gallons or big bags, a mixture would be my guess. I stuck in another 20 of them as ‘direct-seeded’ (no soak) 2 nights ago to see if the germination rate continues to improve.
555! I am STILL on the first packet of Popsicle #4! Just lovin’ it!
Still not a drop of rain! So, lots more watering and mulching again today Paid another $400 water bill! Ouch!!!
Spent a couple hours rearranging the upper greenhouse layout. Pulled the Old Silver Thai male outside which made room for a couple more 15 gallon bags and 4 more 3-gallon plants. Shifted the Durban Venom around to where they get hit by the hurricane fan a bit harder. All-in-all, I was pretty stoked when I could finally sit down and look around! Nothing like a house full of happy (and good-lookin’) girls to raise your spirits!
A few portraits…
I’ve got a good friend returning from Israel tomorrow so decided to give the big Mac1 x AVC “One More Day” so he can see it ‘on-the-bush’! This thing is fkn amazing! So THICK, and not a touch of budrot! I think there’s between a dozen and fifteen more of these coming along (so far…put in another 20 beans 2 days ago!).
@Jimdoors The Durban Venom are looking and smelling great! They’d appear to be no where near ready and still popping loads of white pistils daily! Any hints on timing of these is welcome…I mean in terms of tricomes/pistil color % or other key ‘landmarks’…I checked the tags and found no ‘first-flower’ dates on the tag backs. So I guess I’m asking, have you found a preference for early or late cutting of these?
I was mistaken…the plant with the indescribably strong smell was a @BobbyBudz Powie Pineapple! Here’s another younger one outdoor.
The mutant Meat Breath is still looking mutated!
Still pretty shocked at how many leaves have fallen from all the trees. We’re gonna need to rake out the branches and palm fronds from one of the small valleys and just compost ‘em in place, the compost area is already overflowing! Got another truckload of cow shit, rice hulls & rice straw bales comin’ tomorrow…should have done it 2 months ago! I need to find time to get back to painting more of those 3 gallon pots white. The BIG guy has been mixin’ uP 100 gallon growbags of LS mix and I keep using uP the ones he did 2 weeks ago…would love to give it a month but the plants won’t wait! If the weather would shift, some rains return and the temps drop 10 degrees I’d consider keeping plants in the airpots/3 gallons until sexed, but with the temps as they are I’m afraid to leave 'em in such small containers. On the other hand, I think I’ve had to pull 4-5 males outta the 15/30 gallon bags already!
Okay, guess I better go check on those Mac1 x AVC beans! Have a great day guys!
Hey @Tlander everything is looking great the durban Venom seem to follow the pangi with looking almost done and then the 3rd flowering starts but they seem to finish about 2-3 weeks after 3rd flowering starts.
Hey bro!
That MAC and acv looks like a 2 liter bottle!
Im ready to see what they do indoors… got a few ready for flower so it is ON!
The Durban venoms looks so nice too.
Sounds like you will have a pile of compost with all those adds to the natural leaves.
The way you are going you are gonna need it!!!
Did ya ever figure out what critter was eating your starts?
Stay cool my friend!
Cheers!
Yobros! Another Sunday rolls around… We got our first rain in probably 3 months yesterday! Not long, but 30 minutes or so beats all we have had in a while! Unfortunately, just as I was getting into cleaning out one of the greenhouses we heard a really load “crack” and the sound of a falling tree. When one of the kids came to tell me about it I just asked if it landed on my house or not? They said no, so I said I’d be over in a couple minutes to check it out.
We’d stashed a bunch of “already sold” rare shade-loving palms in the shade of a large overhanging tree for haul-out…so guess which tree it was that succumbed to the dryness?
With some very careful cutting, we managed to extract the 4 most valuable ones with just a torn leaf or two and set them aside where they won’t get crushed if the supporting branches snap again. Very luckily, there were a couple thick branches that drove themselves into the ground, keeping the rest of the tree’s weight from crushing the palms flat. The client paid (big bucks) for these 3 months ago, but their contractor hasn’t lived up to expectations. They were supposed to be out of here in March!
So, we wasted a good few hours cutting, loading and hauling branches (3 pickup truckfulls), so much for cleaning out the greenhouse! We worked to cut away limbs from the lowest 2 meters until we could extract the palms, but still have 2/3 of the fallen tree to remove, but the ‘weight is off’ for now! There’s always ‘something’!
Only managed to snap a couple shots of the plants…
@Budderton Nice little Colombian Gold x Cobra Lips settled in the palm grove.I’ve been pinching the hell out of all the Sativa’s lately…
@Upstate This Peshawar Joe is the latest male to show himself.
Decided, right after we yanked it out of it’s 15 gallon bag by the roots, to experiment w/some more Bro-Science! I chopped back some of the roots and most of the shoots and packed him into a 2 gallon airpot. Gonna move him to the driveway, just in case I need him for seeding purposes. We’ll see if it works???
Spotted two top buds on Powie Pineapples that got hit w/budrot (prior to the rains). Bummed to have to chop them out. The BIG faux Mac1 x AVC is still holding up and after my buddy visits today she may come down. All the plants from the Sea of Green experiment are gonna get written off as a failed experiment! Trashed the DJ Short 90’s BB couple weeks back and the Zacatecas x Michoacan are now all outside where I can get at them from all sides, but I don’t think they are worth the effort to try to save. Bummer! There are 3 more DJ Short 90’s BB females in the upper greenhouse and with the hurricane fan going 24/7 they look much better!
I’ve got a lot of transplanting to get into over the next week or two. The E&F tables are full to the brim, the LS mix is cooking off in a couple 100 gallon grow bags and I’ve managed to get 25 or so of the 3-gallon pots double coated in white paint. With so much ‘potential’ sitting in the E&F I should probably just chop all the old BB & revegged Original Haze and be done with them!
Okay, the cooler morning hours are slipping away, so I better get to it! Hope you all have a great weekend!
Well, we didn’t get any more rain…yet! So spent some time transplanting a few more plants from the E&F tables into 3 gallon pots. Of course that meant I also did some more Solo’s to 2-gallon airpots to fill in the blanks! Then I swung by the upper greenhouse to check in on the girls…
These are from my Rasta buddy on Koh Tao. He says he keeps getting males and hasn’t had a single female of this strain yet. I said I’m wondering why I only have ONE? Quite an ‘odd’ form, a whole lot of very long vertical branches just now starting to stack uP! Gonna have another dig in the refrigerator soon!
@Wizdom Okay, my buddy returned from Israel today and swung by so I’m now in the clear to harvest this beauty…but the “One more day” habit is a hard one to break! Still haven’t seen anything from the postman…but today IS Sunday and they DO have a weird habit of showing uP on Sundays! I think I have about 10-15 F1’s I made from your beans in Solo’s now.
!@Jimdoors Okay, two of these are starting to look like they might be getting close! But still kicking out lots of white pistils daily.
@BobbyBudz Your beans are all over this place bro! Thanks again! (Whoops! The New Hope is from @Budderton )
@Upstate This is that first Peshawar Joe that started to reveg and then got hit w/mealy bugs. Put it outside, stripped a few branches w/ bugs and doused it w/ One & Done a few times and it looks like it’s making a come-back!
Okay, enjoy your weekend, it’ll be over before you know it!
Holy crap TL!! Looks like you’ve got at least one of every cultivar know to man! Just awesome!! Congrats on getting some rain. Hopefully all those Sativa doms handle it like champs it and doesn’t bring on the rot too badly.
Everything time you post pics of the Mac1 x AVC, I have to stay disciplined and fight the urge to run to the seed fridge! And that Durban Venom is a looker as well!
Good luck, as you cruise to the finish line and may the botrytis bugger off!
555! Thanks buddy! Yeah, I’m pretty ‘out-of-control’ when it comes to narrowing it down! My life would likely be so much easier if I just grew lots of one or two strains…but life is short and there are soooo many beans to try! Not to mention how many fantastic OG’ers there are here that are so kindheartedly willing to share! I’m very bummed that it would seem someone/somewhere along the line has been pinching cards at a massive level. I have received at least 20 messages saying ‘beans on the way’ over the last 2 months and only about 4 have actually made it to my hands.Trying out a different address now, but not sure that it isn’t happening back at the sender’s countries?
Anyway, thanks to you and the other breeders here, you guys have got me hooked on seed-making! So even if nothing ever made it through the post again, I’m not gonna run out anytime soon!
I put a good return on the ones I sent, just in case something was wrong with the size or postage, so it should be returned to sender.(like Elvis😁) I haven’t got any back, which leads me to think it’s happening after being recieved into the Thai system. I’ve been making it to Australia, no problem, and thats just around the corner from you. But I’m no expert in mail delivery. I’m just a simple Herb farmer.
I’m sending one off to @Drsunshinestrains tomorrow, so we’ll see how that goes. Apparently they have lost a few envelopes in transit as well.
Everything will be fine, as long as you guys keep making your own selections and spreading them around locally!! Shine on, you crazy plant shepherd!!
Looking epic down there!
Sorry to hear about the tree.
close call for sure!
Id call the buyer and say get em out of here!!
All your plants seem to be enjoying the dry weather but the water bills sounds bad.
Great you got a bit of rain, nothing up here for months now.
It is hot as hell too.
I have had only a few letters go missing here but the sender was nice enough to resend to me.
Its weird they way the PO works here though.
I was getting worried a while back that they had confiscated some but all of a sudden I got a stack of about 10 all at once! Then some in groups of 2-3 envelopes for about a week or so then I started checking my notes and some were like almost 2 months from being sent. Then Yesterday most of the long time packs showed up in a big stack with some like only from 10-14 days ago!
I think they may just be lazy and wait till they build up enough to make it worth delivering?
Honestly some of the ones Ive sent out are still lost in the PO vortex!!
Anyway Id just keep up hope and they may well show up!!
Keep on keeping on @Tlander!!!
hope the rains cool ya off soon, and me too!!
Cheers bro!
I just landed one to @Drsunshinestrains Hopefully the po box is better than the guard hut
@Tuned Yahooooo OG!!!
As you can see above, they’re already very close to their new homes! Thank you so much bro!
Arrived at security on Sunday night! Looks like postmarked 4/11/24?
Lets hope it’s the first warning of a coming landslide!
I’ll check the PO tomorrow!
hahahah! awesome! @Tlander
The PO came through.
I just soaked some of these you gifted me and was 1-3 successful and I hope it’s a girl!!
good luck with the starts!!
cheers bro!
Nice! Glad they made it.
I like that my O ring idea is working, they don’t look like they are damaged.
I wish I had more of that cross, but I’m down to about 25 seeds left.
I hope they germinate well for you
@Tlander I always love seeing what you’re up to😁. I’ll be a little scarce over the next few weeks I think, due to planting season. I’ll be watching if I don’t have time to interact. I have many more Peshawar seeds if the first ones don’t pan out. They are tough plants. My favorite cutting has been neglected all winter but keeps on going😁
Damn bro, you’ve been tryin’ so hard to get those to me for so looong now! If the rest show uP we may have to trying sending some back! Meanwhile, if I don’t get interrupted tonight, I have a puck each of; Black Skunk, Durban Venom {(Durban Poison x Pangi) x (Durban Poison x Appie)} and Widow Bush x Temple Flow sitting here on my desk awaiting packing for you on tomorrow’s PO run! Plus I can check my PO box!
@Upstate I know the feeling bro! It’s gettin’ pretty wild here too now! Finding I hardly have time for pictures these days. I just put the first ‘cage on stilts’ on to one of the Peshawar Joe’s tonight at sunset. She looked like it was now or never! Think I’m gonna be digging out all the tall ‘cages on stilts’ pretty quick - there’s a lot of those Joe’s around! First 2 Tirah Valley x Peshawar have been males. Good luck keeping up w/the planting bro!
