First Time (growing legal that is)!

Welcome back @Tlander ! :sun_with_face: :rainbow:

I don’t think those are the Affies. Either I messed up or maybe TL mislabeled them. Or they are being right weird in a tropical environment. But they look nothing like any I’ve grown, thats for sure.
Hey TL, it good to see you posting at the speed of light! Sorry to hear about the botrytis going around. Awesome news about the law u turn though! I figured it would hard to dial that back after the cat had been let out of the bag, so to speak. Very cool to see all the fresh beans flowing, shine on!

Yobro! Yes, I thought there was something amiss w/those two also! But they came straight out of one of your packets from the refrigerator. You’ve seen how ‘weird’ stuff can get over here before! But the form just looks all wrong. I just noticed this morning that they are almost up to the ceiling already.

I don’t think we’ve heard the last of the ‘changes’ that are gonna transpire here. It’s ALL about party power politics now, very little to do with the issues. Politicians will be politicians! It’s funny that the guy in the article was the one who started it all by de-listing it two years ago…then a few weeks ago he sided with the incumbent gov against it…now he likely sees an opportunity to make the incumbents seem ‘confused/wishy-washy’ to the public.

Anyway, … for now; The Show must go on!

Well, not many shots today! More beans collected, more budrot trimmed out, a bit of trim jail and a bit of work around my own garden for a change!

This faux Mac1 x AVC wasn’t outstanding, but it’s sure to get smoked! There are quite a few of these that stayed in 3 gallons and dwarfed out. Sure made it easier when it was time to shift 'em all in under the roof!

I was gonna wait on planting until after our heavy monsoon (sometime from Oct-Jan) but I just can’t help myself! And there’s more in the plug trays!

Short one for tonight! Have a great day!

Glad you are back bro! Them Powies did you right. I’m so happy!
That’s pretty much what I was shooting for: easy grow, super smelly, great buzz, super easy to clean, dry, and cure.

Now I know it was not just me in AZ in the garage.
This feedback is so helpful! Mind if I quote you?

  • Powie Wowie, Powie Poison, Baja Blast, Soulmates (and I’m forgetting one!)!. For ease of growing, mold resistance (mostly), finished buds and killer smells - these have it all! Thank you Bobby for letting me try them out!

The others I sent you that I think you were Afgooy, Zacateca Tribute, and Baja Blast x Zacteca.

Are those doing okay? I’m especially interested how the Baja Blast / Zacatecas did.

They have the genetics to be monsters.

Bye for now!

Bobby

Thanks Bobby! Sure, go ahead! You hit it on the head with “super easy to clean, dry, and cure”…I forgot to mention that part! The PW, PP and BB were all of the same bud-form and all were super easy to trim up. The smaller, less dense buds meant they (mostly) avoided the budrot of the denser heavily Indica influenced buds, which was most welcome here with our humidity levels. I did have a few PP that molded out in the last week, none of the PW molded, but they were mostly done a month ago before the rains hit.

The Afgooies are coming along very nicely too! I’m probably just days away from harvesting them. Big rains last night and 95% humidity levels mean I need to get down there soon and check on 'em. ZT were also quite nice but didn’t finish as well for me. Don’t think I got any BB x ZT.

All in all, I’m especially sold on the Powie’s and would recommend them to anybody! I rolled a fattie last night at a local restaurant for a group of friends…it was one of the few times that everybody had 1-2 hits and as good as it tasted, there was still 2/3 of the joint left in the ashtray at the end of dinner! I gave the remainder to the owner to enjoy! Everybody that took a hit commented on how ‘effective’ one hit was! But…it sure is hard to take just one hit!

I’ve put in a bunch more PP (you sent me a very full coinflip - Thanks!). We’ll see how they fare with the rains this time! So BIG thanks again bro!

Another lazy Sunday! I think I’m gonna slow down on the picture posting for a bit - there’s not all that much to show. We’ve been chopping plants and cutting out budrot and it continues to rain off and on with big winds and high humidity levels. The upper greenhouse still has some very nice plants but everything is on a constant watch program. I’ve gotta pluck out mold, squirt w/Hypoclorious acid and pluck out beans about twice a day to stay on top of it.

Yesterday’s meet-up spot in a light drizzle…

On the way to check out the nursery I spotted a couple of Cymbidium orchids flowering out…

Yesterday was the King’s Birthday so everybody had a 2-day weekend for a change. Got to the nursery to find the high winds and rains knocked over quite a few of the Lemon trees in 10 gallon airpots and snapped some big limbs off the rain trees. Then I found that one of the Peshawar Joes ( @Upstate ) split right down the middle, leaving one seeded branch laying on the ground. The other ‘might’ hang in there…we’ll see tomorrow. This was one of the few that wasn’t in the 2 meter cages-on-stilts, as it had gotten too wide too fast! It had four large 1-meter-tall stakes, but the winds were pretty heavy and it seems one of the plastic clips just snapped. Bummer!

The Colombian Gold x Cobra Lips ( @Budderton ) didn’t like the rains last week and I’ve discovered the interiors of the buds have a ton of blackened leaves…might still make RSO out of it and hoping I can get a few nice colas without any rot.

I was stunned and happy to pull another 100+ beans off the smallish Baja Blast (@BobbyBudz ) plant. And pulled another 25-30 off the (faux Mac1 x AVC) x (A New Hope x Cobra Lips) and about the same from the Sherbanger x Purple Punch (@Drsunshinestrains ) which were really fat beans!

There’s loads of one gallon airpots just pumping uP and another load of Solo’s just about ready to pot up this week and more plugs went into Solo’s today…so much for the ‘holding back’! :joy: Had a good friend drop in today and since he’s recently gotten into making bubble hash, I decided it was time to do some ‘thinning out’ of the stash closet. I even managed to get it down to one, very crowded, and loooong shelf! Well, until tomorrow’s trim jail session is finished anyway! We each burned a Baja Blast doobie and just loved it! He really liked the taste!

Okay, it’s gonna be a busy week with Dr’s appointments, PO run’s and end-of-the-month payroll. May not get a chance to take many shots or post for a few days. Hopefully something worth taking pictures of by then. Have a great week guys!

Bummer about the Peshawar. Stem weakness seems to be their Achilles heel. I snap branches all the time trying to fold them. I think it’s because these plants were grown close to one another for centuries and they are used to the support of their fellow neighbor. I’m working on that weakness.
I had a couple envelopes show up from you from Thailand😁. I’m so dang busy today I won’t get a chance to open it. I went from being laid up unable to do anything to all of a sudden walking around. I’ve been trying to catch up on neglected work. I’ve only worked 10 days since June 7th when I hurt myself. Been a tough month and a half. I’ve been holding plants with one hand and propping up my leg with a cane with my other bringing plants in and outdoors again. The greenhouse never happened this year. What’s that saying about well laid plans of mice and men😁. What can you do except keep trucking… as long as there’s any gas at all in the tank. I was running on fumes for a few weeks.

Lovely weather for the orchards, they look gorgeous! Not so lovely for the cannabis though. This time of year sure puts the non native varieties to the test! Too bad about the Lumbo Lips. Did they all get botrytis TL? The pics from before and ones that @Drsunshinestrains posted have inspired me to pop a few so we’ll see how they like a Canadian basement.
Best of luck at the Dr’s and have a great week!

@Upstate Sorry to hear you’re still having a rough time bro! I was shocked to find that as bad as that split was, the plant isn’t looking half dead today! I had just re-positioned it and re-clipped it in place but didn’t have any tape, so just left it that way last night. It looked so good this morning that I had to check all the surrounding plants to make sure I wasn’t remembering it wrong! I’m a little concerned about even the caged ones as they are a meter above the cages at least.I can’t even imagine how you grow them in a tent!

@Budderton Yeah, the Lumbo Lips were looking fine from the outside!

But open 'em up and this is what you find…

Meanwhile, our first Krathom tree has produced flower clusters! And they’re quite beautiful things!

We’re busy trimming plants on the bush today, getting things ready for a large take-down tonight. Gotta go organize the drying tent! Oh, and got another 20 airpots ready for Solo transplants!

Sounds like the calm before the storm. Those krathom trees are way cool. Your rocking it as usual @Tlander. Get ready for jail.

Thanks bro! Yeah, it was a full-on ‘on-the-bush’ trimming session for 2 of us for most of the day! Just got everything hung. Kind of a bummer to find so much mold…had to fill up a rice sack full of "NoWays’.

But managed to find an hour to do some of the transplanting! Like I said, plant shitloads and something is bound to make it! :joy: Think these are mostly Powie Poisons, Sherbangers, God’s Timewarps, Corey Heime x Blue Kush…and a few I probably forgot!

Could you shoot me your address again anyone I have traded seeds with? (If you wanna trade in the future).

I lost my files in a recent Microsoft update.

Did you ever get those beans out to me? @BobbyBudz

I’m not sure. I lost all my Testers info. in a crash. So sad.

Could you shoot me your address again to bobby@bobbybudz.com?

and remind me again which seeds you were interested in?

Thanks!

Yo guys!

Hoya mindronensis blossoms…

If you remember the Krathom flower bloom from the other day, you’ll recognize these progressions.

There’s not much left in the upper greenhouse anymore. I think maybe 9 plant left standing. Here’s the next generation of the Strange Fruit x Joker’s Candy from the Koh Tao gang…

Well, pretty convinced Budderton is correct - there HAD to have been some mix uP with these!

@Roms Swazi Ruz

Back over in the Ebb & Flow tables… things are coming along faster than I expected. Spent some time moving Solo’s uP to 1 gallon airpots. Running lights from 6 am - 8pm and a midnight to 1 am flash and I am still getting a few plants starting to flower out! Three males and two females out of about fifty.

And to close out, here’s @Drsunshinestrains 's Sherbanger x Purple Punch just looking gorgeous! I told him they all just got pinched yesterday. With the weather there’s no telling what their future holds, but they sure are gorgeous now!

We chopped a bunch more tonight, running outta room in the drying tent! The Lemon Grove is now the Chocolate Sapote (and Lemon) Grove…felt they needed more sunlight than they were getting in the transition-from-transplanting area under the trees. I gotta figure out some semi-dry storage for all the mix in all the 30-gallon bags and shitloads of 3-gallon pots from this last run. Our weather continues to be gray with occasional drizzles, though drier than last week. The Sativas are NOT happy. Though it’s my first try at a lot of these so maybe it’s normal? They’re mostly 2.5-3.5m tall now and have shed almost all the fans below head height. Buds are forming, some much slower than others, but I thought of getting my binoculars out to check for hermies as none of the ladders will work! The Old Silver Thai pollination took, but probably only a small handful. The Peshawar Joe’s don’t seem to have made more than a few here and there. The Colombian Gold x Cobra Lips look great…as long as you’re a meter away…but inside the buds there’s a lot of blackened old leaves from the rains 2 weeks ago. Hoping to salvage a couple good colas. Well, the Koh Tao boyz are due to drop by tonight for a visit and that tent isn’t gonna empty itself!

Okay, back to trim jail!
