Yum, I’m on my way lol. I have a great hog hunting rifle, .450 Bushmaster on an AR platform with a 20 round magazine. It’s perfect for bear and hogs.
We’ve had some damage from bears to my workshop and they’ve wrecked a couple bird feeders over the years. One tore a panel off the side of my workshop back when i stored trash in it. Since we got the bear proof trash can they just eat the cat food I leave out for my barn cats occasionally and try to get on my back porch for the bird feeders. The bears are pretty easy to deal with usually and i like having them around.

the (black) bears i have seen usually run off if confronted. they were all around my grandma’s place in new hampshire. these texas hogs will paw the earth and charge you. i have seen videos of wounded boars charging the shooter. they’re friggin MEAN.

a lot of guys here will hunt them from the backs of their trucks (up off the ground) or will set up bait spots and pick them off from elevated 100+ M. they will scatter in all directions when the shots start and they move quick.

The motorcycle club I rode with while stationed in Texas hunted hogs using dogs and large knives. The dogs had special vests to protect them from getting cut by the tusks. Once the dogs grab the hog the hunter goes in and stabs the hog in the throat. Very dangerous and an extreme hunting experience. We have a small feral hog problem in Virginia but it’s mainly in the Southern part of the state.
I’ll take our bears over hogs any day.

My motorcycle days and hog wrestling days are far behind me lol. At 30 years old, I felt invincible. At my age now I pull a muscle when i sneeze lol. I wish i could do some Axis deer hunting on Ft Hood, there was a small number of them on post but I never saw any.

I have a 2000 Yamaha V Star cruiser in my workshop but it needs some work, just like my back lol. I really miss riding and the mountain roads here are killer for cruising.

I was a huge Harley fan growing up. Then they became so expensive that mostly white collar big shots could afford them. My V Star is really just a Fatboy knockoff by Yamaha but it rides so smooth.

Harley’s were not tall enough for me, hated the way they shifted also. The Trident has a really tall seat height so it was comfortable for me. You can hear when it hits the power band. You didn’t see many of them around also, didn’t need $4K in accessories to make it look different.

New bikes now are just priced to stupidity. My father and I pieced my Softail (bobber look) together over time thru swap meets. Took a big chunk of cost out of it but also used it to learn how to work on it simultaneously.
Saved money by not running a front brake, no paint job.
My rear fender is off a bike from 50s. Paint cracked from the layers of previous owners.

Seems like you guys like the older bikes as well. Here are some cool photos from a classics only swap meet a couple years ago. First time hearing about a either of these.

I love classic bikes and hot rods. My driveway is currently home to my 1971 Pontiac Lemans with a built 455 Pontiac motor. Currently not running but hoping to get it back on the road.
