Half the plant was pollinated with Spencer’s Gift (Afghani leaner) @Scarlyle and the other was Shellcatcher (dirty oil stem rub) @hoss8455.
Now its just a waiting game for these beans to be ready. This girl sure produces big beans. Looking forward to cracking some here soon and see what shows itself as Thanks for stopping by
I think shes a little top heavy seed bound
I did find a couple places of mold due to leaning against the wall. Cut out 2 fist sized flowers and now removed everything else to increase airflow and sting them up
Shes getting heavier and more floppy by the growing volume of seeds. Just awesome looking girl and shes been an excellent and reliable mother plant. Smells amazing, nice a resin covered. This round i have been using Jacks 321 Tap nutrients and it has performed excellent with her. Her smells are more intense, shes more frosty, and has a better calax to leaf ration vs the last time I flowered her out. I fid have to wrap up one of her stems due the splitting caused 1 of the colas flopping over last week.
I keep telling myself im going to let her go and make room for new plant but you all know when youve been taking care of these plants from seed for any length of time (2 years almost) you get attached. I kept her all this time as i liked her effect she made. Clear and cerebral at first and then an hour later a nice body high starts to set in and continues to build up and make your body feels like its weighed down.
I can’t consume as ofter as i like so if I can 2 times a week i count myself lucky. This said i have a low tollerance so i get ripped pretty easy but my wife keeps going back to the bag of this flower so its good for her as well.
@luxton She’s just so large (I let her get too lanky). Also i would like to explore the progeny I’ve made with her and as we know my friend theres just so much great genetics out there to work with these days on this amazing forum.
Shes been awesome reliable and a trouble free plant thats taken all the issues I’ve created and stress 1 could intentionally and unintentionally toss at her.
Just a quick writen update till later today. My BagseedBitch mom plant I took down a couple days ago. When i did and was cutting down her stock found that she was starting to break down from the inside core. Noticed it was a bit black inside near the base so cut it open and ended up finding a bit of mold growing. So i made the right choice with taking her down before something could have come of it. She was healthy all the way thou so i suspected age was at play as her in her original pot was just creeping onto 2 yrs of age.
She did well and produced tons of progeny but time to look through her kids and use the space for the next flowering group.
So here happening in my grow verse is just pumping along. The 4x2 & 3x3 are getting shifted around to accommodate the different plants I have going. In the 4x2 I have only @OriginalDankmaster96 gear running and its as follows:
Dankmaster Crippy & 2 Island Crippy are in the Earth box sip system. I’m still running the mars hydro SP250. Honestly it just performs well in the 4x2!!
The only thing I’ve done is place a couple trays full of water underneath the 1gallon pots and have run a couple wicks criss crossed thru the base of the pot to wick water while I’m away from home for a week till Nov 7th (I’m hoping this does work like it did on my last vacation). When I left everything was too dressed 1Tbsp of Pridelands veg dry amendments and fed Green Amino compost tea.
The Earth box is housing 2 Island Crippy and 1 Dankmaster Crippy plant with the Dankmaster sitting in the middle as I believed the IC would grow more aggressively to start and would reqire the extra room. Also something else I’m trying as a side project it Air Layering. I have 1 presently being attempted off 1 of the Island Crippy plants to see if I could do this and if not at what point did I fail.
(So far the plant is looking healthy and I can visually see root forming :))
Something that I’m experiencing right now with the Earth box right now is all my larger fan leave from midway up the stem to the top of the plant are all getting yellow spots and then necrosis happens and I haven’t been able to isolate the problem yet. I did let the box dry out completely so I believe I may have caused lock out as I wasnt paying as much attention as I should. Since then I’ve refilled the res till run off and followed up the next day with adding more water till run off to ensure the medium had wicked up required water and has plenty to work with while Im away for the week.
Now, I’m chill but I’m also freaking out at the same time as its a critical point for my plants recovery and I cant be there to watch over them while they get better.
In the 4x4 I have 1 Shellcatcher, Spencer’s Gift, Kush 4 x Sunshine Daydream) x PUCK Bx3. I had let the girls get out of hand due to my relaxed approach and they all grew into the lights so vefore Ilft on vacation they all got a massive trim and I took 16-18" off the total canopy and when I get back will be using a ton of my 3D clips to level everything flat and flip the girls. Just wanted them to have some recovery time. What I also did to prepare the girls for my vacation was use my AC infinity wicking bases full of a gallon of water to work with top dressed with 3 Tbsp of Pridelands veg and watered in with the Green Amino compost tea. They should be just fine as they are still working on some rott development from the up potting into 5 gallon fabric pots of living soil.
Now my little baby station hugged in-between the 2 tents has my head in a tizzy. Honeslty I’m stressing about me leaving the house for 2 days for work let alone a full week but this is what happened (not my best decision starting seedlings and clones before I’m away and I’ll learn from this possible total F-up)
Myself and @luxon are having a grow off with some Purple Romulan fem seeds I provided that I had bought 5 yrs ago from Next Generation Seeds. 3 seeds were dropped 2 popped a few day before I left. I tranplanted them into solo cups of loose living soil the day before and a made a small solo cup res I placed under each to hopefully provide the extra moisture required for the soil while I’m away. Coupled with the seedlings I have 2 freshly rooted CripXmas A2 clones that I just planted into a large solo cup each which after 24 hrs were responding extremely well too but I hope to be alive when I return home.
These cutting were taken on the October 20 and this picture was from the October 29. Good root development in sucha short amount of time. I was using clonex and I didnt ph at all. I just mixed 1/4ml into a 100ml of tap water and saturated the rockwool cube. I applied more solution whenever I was home from work (every 2 days) and my wife would spray some water into the dome once a day for 8 seconds. Everything is sitting on a heatmat sitting around 25°-27°
About a week ago I decided to start testing my Sowah Apple F2 seeds for germination rates. I dropped 22 seeds of varying sizes in paper towel with HOT tap water. On a plante into a ziploc and sit atop of the old faithful water heater.
Day 1: 5 sprouted with 1/2" roots
Day 2: 7 more sprouted with roots in varying lengths of 1/4"-1/2". The older sprouts all over 1" roots
Day 3: 4 more sprouted (1 stopped after seed crack) so 3 remaining.
The total was 15 popped of 22. All seeds that didnt pop were All Small/tiny seeds which I had suspected was hoing to happen but needed to be sure.
I let these seedling that germinated to just grow and grow over the next few days to see what vigor they showed (roots anywhere from 3"-7" in length) nice and white and relatively straight!
Now of these seedlings 1 was planted into a solo cup with the other seedlings I have running. I took 6 move and direct sowed them into a houseplants pot upstairs near a window to see what vigor they really had. When I left on the 1st 3 of them were dried up and 3 were still alive and firm so its anyone guess if theyll be alive when i get home. I have 3 cats innthe house and 1 of them loves to nibble on plant’s so this may be all their fates by the time I get back but if not the plant and babies will all be moved into the grow tent to see what comes of them. For they next phase of stress testing
Yes, that’s where I encounter nutrient issues when Ph is too low. It best to have one those of soil Ph meters. I prefer the digital version to get an accurate read on soil itself. Try raising by 2.5. I was actually watering too low myself in compost now I’m bumping back to 6.5-6.55
Lemme dig out the one I bought for $30, although they can have deals. I just use moisture and Ph
@OriginalDankmaster96, for this sip system overall they run on there own. When i set up the soil (sphagnum peat moss) mixed in the Perilite tamped in the 2 wicking corners and placed in about 3" of medium. From there I spread out 1lb of dolomite lime so the water gets ph balanced on the way up. This said on the previous run I was adjusting as I watered it in where this time I hadnt yet as I was waiting for the roots to spread a bit more but in the process missed the water level and let it run near dry medium in the process. Now I’m going to have to start to feed compost teas to build up the microbial that I just killed off.
Silly mistake honeslty but a learning point for me to get that indicating float Ive been meaning to install in the EB watering tube and I’ll also look into what you suggested so thank you for that
I will also look into a auto watering system for the Earrhbox to avoid this in my firture runs but first microbial is the first priority.
Mistakes are just lifes lessons for laziness and Im ok with them but not wanting to repeat to many times moving forward.
