Found my roots in Mapito

Mapito prep - Take 2

I’ve now tested this 3 times and am now happy with the following process to get my Mapito ready. @Gourmand this may be helpful.

Crates drilled with tons of holes…this is the same one used in my grows. Though I’ve added more holes…the other ones have less holes.

  1. Soak Mapito in 5.5ph for 1hr and drain

  1. Compress Mapito (squish it good) and flush from the top with 5.5ph and .8ec . I ended up automating this with a pump that just cycles water for 10minutes

  1. Check PH after 10minute run (Mine crept upto 5.65). Readjust PH back down to 5.5-5.6 and flush again for 10minutes.

  1. Second Rinse is complete and PH is good enough! I do end up letting this drain and a final check with the same water/ph. Just to ensure she is holding.

I’ve now run 3 batches this way and have already tested this with a clone and no issues at all. I’m also topping off my currrent Mapito grow with this.

Does anyone have a Apera ph60? I need some orings to replace mine and not sure if I should order direct from Apera or buy else where.

Day 28 - Coffee Cake/Bluemoon/Sorbet

Tomorrow hooking up a new res. for 3 plants that are crying for some N. I’m just waiting on some tubing to arrive

Girls are coming back to life slow and surely.

So I’ve added more Mapito to all the crates. I believe I had potted them way too low in the crates and all went to hell. Drowning them a bit as the leaves showed signs of over watering…this is something I’m working on for the next run.

I’ve since been dropping clones in my veg tent in Mapito and no issues on the transplant.

Also just finished about 40-50 clones from all my plants. My plan is to move away from Promix and keep all my moms and clones in Mapito moving forward. I may even setup a small flood and drain down the road.

Peace

I use that PH meter, not had a need to change them yet, I would say it may be hard to get them anywhere except direct from the manufacturer, unless you can find them on amazon.

Pulse monitor gave me some warnings while I was out, and I came home to this. Gotta say this is a first…light is back up now. Ratchet broke on one…and looks like shady craftsman ship from me. The light also knocked out my camera angle so I couldn’t see the light.

Made a splint for the one plant that needs a little help (also a first trying to save one)

On a good note. 3 triple burgers are showing great turgor…so I’m confident my 29-30deg temps and 62-65% humidity is on point.

Glad the pulse monitor clued you in that something was wrong. Can you imagine if that happened with an HPS light? :grimacing:

At least these lights are not very heavy. I hate to think how that would have finished up of it was an HPS light.

High chance the plants would of burst into flame with a hps laying on them .

Very lucky nothing happened.

The other tents don’t have a pulse monitor, just cameras hooked up. The cameras do notify me if there is a fire based on the sound.

I’ve gone over all my tents to avoid anything like this happening again. Also hunting for fire protection just for a peace of mind.

Check into Auto Fire Guard Fireball. I have one and sleep much better at night with one.

Thanks @ReikoX peace of mind is what I need. Scary thinking what could have happened. All that took was 2hrs while not home.

Wow! Super scary! :scream::scream: I’m glad everything is ok. You said a faulty rachet was to blame? That makes me nervous! I gotta look into these fireballs myself.

New ratchets came in today. So instead of that metal clip securing it was just tied.

All my fault though…but fixed.

Fireball is coming in. If I didn’t have enough slack on the wire things may have went really bad.
