Freakin' With The Freaker's Ball Seed Collective

we are working on whatever heirloom strains we have in our private collections, and in the ‘collective vault.’ The freakers infrastructure is primarily a way to keep all these projects actively moving forward with people working on them continuously.

You can always be a freaker too, if you do one short flowering project a year that makes you a ‘part time freaker’ which is one of the types of freaker member.

If I am remembering correctly,

when guitarzan made an enormous group buy he told snow about their intention to share the vietnamese seeds and asked if it was ok. Snow asked guitarzan to preserve all of these varieties. It sounds like they are all f1’s and have not been preserved on his end. And for the landraces they are so rare he wanted to make sure they exist outside of his grow.

I do this on a never ending basis already, rarely do you see a newer hybrid being grown by me.

I’m about to start some of your ak 47 for some decent yielding indica meds. Thanks again for preserving these lines and keeping them around in pure form for medical use. that’s the only way we can have consistent reliable meds. That is what medical cannabis is all about. I’m always amazed by how much work you get done in a year.

I have some maple leaf pollen for you, but not sure about viability, so when you get it use it with caution I don’t want to waste one of your plants on potentially nonviable pollen.

You know the old lines is what I’m all about.

No definitely not for me its literally the samething as pres runs just with more rules and exclusion i respect what you guys are doing because you are preserving strains but it just seems someone didn’t like the way pres runs were being ran and instead of trying to change what we had something new was made either way you guys are spreading the plant so im on board with that

But as far as private groups within overgrow im a part of several we have them in discords as to not drag the server that always needs funds down with our private group business

We talked about donating seeds for the server fund when we started. When seeds start coming in we will get to that part…
I like the way preservation runs are being done too. But I love land races, and not many of them were being reproduced… I think encouraging people to do a seed run by offering a bonus to them will bring more seed runs to overgrow. We won’t always make enough seed to supply everybody, but I think with the faster flowering varieties that most people seem to prefer anyway there’ll be plenty to go around. Double Repro, Co-op and Freaker’s, with extras to go to the server fund. I’m confident I could make more seeds that I know what to do with it if I grew half a dozen plants of a heavy flowering variety. Thousands.

Landraces were always a part of the preservation runs just a lack of volunteers

That was the problem. People have limited time and space and generally like the more potent plants. With Landraces you either get lucky or you don’t. But with a large group doing runs, now a member has 45 chances a year to get lucky. A chance for every reproduction . We are bound to strike gold . Someone will find something killer. Probably many someones. then I picture all the trading and gifting that will be going on here on Overgrow because of all those seeds floating around. Membership will always be capped, so we can’t possibly replace the old system, only supplement it. Eventually more people will want to join then we will be able to have. I think we capped it at 30 people or something like that. More than likely I’ll be a revolving door of membership. When you have time in a year to devote to two landraces or old heirloom preservations( or a long flowering tropical) you join the Freakers that year. For me, I’ll be doing one long flowering variety for The Freaker’s, and a different variety for the coop each year. And of course some extra seed making where the pollination isn’t total

So why not put those 45 chances a year towards the general preservation you guys could have added the landraces you wanted to run there is no set order to what gets ran you could have picked any of the available strains or any strain you had honestly. If this is about the seed box that went m.i.a i understand peoples frustrations having done all of that work only for no one to get them that sucked for sure and i do understand that landraces are not everyones cup of tea but think about how many might like to try something they may have once enjoyed long ago just might not be able to do dedicated seed runs …either way maybe @LemonadeJoe could figure out a way to carve you guys out a separate section because there are already confused people in the NL5 run thinking they are being ran for normal preservation

45 runs a year :flushed::flushed::flushed: y’all are building doomsday vaults

If those were to go towards the normal pres stuff and a buck a pack was charged for the server joe could probably turbo charge this site lol

Just a high thought maybe make those who do seed runs a higher tier so they have first dibs on bad runs

And if you guys are tired of hearing me on this by all means just say fuck off and I’ll drop it

Lol. No worries brother. I believe the main motivator here is that everybody that grows one or two landraces is going to get a 100 seeds of all of the landraces. It’s a quick way to build a sizeable vault and it’s a powerful motivator for people interested in breeding and preservation. All of us are working together for a common interest. With the co-op seed runs you can expect to get 10 seeds, which is great for exploration, but not enough seeds for preservation sake if we are being realistic. With a hundred seeds and a greenhouse someone could do a massive open pollination preservation, or a massive pheno hunt and the odds of finding a stellar plant would be much better. Or they could do a hell of a lot of trading or gifting. I would expect the latter to be more common.
I don’t know of anybody upset with the co-op at all. Everyone I talk to still loves it. The Co-op hick up is not what started the Freakers, and had nothing to do with it.
We are all hoping that putting the spotlight on land races and old heirlooms will garner more interest in them. We are only going to allow around 30 people are so into the group, and as people making seed from open pollination preservations gain experience, there will be more seeds than we know what to do with , and they will be going towards the coop and the server fund. Seeing the Panama plants I am growing now, I would imagine I will be able to produce enough seeds to give a bunch to the coop. More people are joining over grow everyday. The interest garnered in these old varieties by our group is going to overflow into the co-op runs. Thats not a maybe. It will happen. Probably on other sites as well. Other groups on other sites will spawn from ours, and preservation will be humming soon.
Doing every reproduction is expensive and time-consuming, but especially so with sativas or two runs a year and the possibility that you won’t get any decent plants from a seed run discourages people from wanting to join in. Getting a large amount of seeds from all the runs done in a year is the key to getting people involved. Everyone knows that they are bound to get something wonderful for their efforts. And with a hundred seeds they have a good chance of finding a plant just as good or better than the one the original grower found. People will be growing varieties they may not even be interested in so that they can get seeds of the variety that someone else is growing. Lots of teamwork here.

We will definitely send seeds into the server fund. I kind of feel guilty about even charging for them really, so we haven’t determined a price yet. When we talked about it I remember $10 or $20 for a pack popping up in the talk, so that’s right in line with what you were thinking, a dollar or two a seed. A couple of the people that got involved early on were adamant that no money be made off of these reproductions, but for the server fund would make an exception. Perhaps we could even do something like breeders packs on larger seed runs, once everyone gets good at repros.

Will these be available on strainly like the freakshow?

As much as i appreciate your responses i was hoping for at least on response from the king of this fuckery but i guess nice guys don’t respond

I don’t know too much about it. Only that Sebring would be doing it for us. Is that where we would sell them? That would be really cool to see some of our stuff available on strainly. We can make Overgrow some decent money, for sure. I had no idea where we would sell the seeds to be honest with you. Makes sense it would be strainly I suppose. In my head I was picturing an overgrow store.

Jesus fucking Christ no what im saying is the freakshow f2s which were a PAID run because  oh thats right it didn’t fit the criteria of a preservation run because get this its still being sold and the shittiest part is it ain’t some one off cross it had real work put into it … Didn’t stop it from being f2d then cut throat priced on strainly  though at this point its pretty clear this has little to do with preserving landraces and more so with making them commercially available …and with that i have come full circle all the way back to my original thought of a 3rd world farmer getting fucked y’all had no problem fucking Humboldts decades of work why care about Muhammad

Some of y’all should google what a buddy hustle is

An overgrow store would be a quick way to have the feds up lemons ass for international trafficking it ain’t worth that risk for anyone

This is exactly why some of my stuff won’t come out unless I have a Big Handle on it.

So how do we sell these for the server fund? Not my area of expertise. The goal is to populate overgrow with these varieties.

Remember this country alone has 320 million people. Supplying a hundred or two hundred people with seeds isn’t going to put a dent in any Third World Farmer’s pocket, and it’s not going to harm anybody in Humbolt because we aren’t growing any of those varieties except what snow High wants preserved.

Privately on our site with no trail not through a 3rd party … Strainly may be solid but i doubt they do anything but turn over records with a subpoena
