@Guitarzan is the man to talk to about that. I’m concentrating on making seeds.
if the goal is truly to populate overgrow with these varieties please explain to me how this process of a handful getting hundreds helps that cause as opposed to everyone having a pack
While i am a man of emotion i am also a man of logic
@Guitarzan i know your reading these and you know every fucking word has been directed to you buddy hustle how about a response or is it easier to sit back and watch the destruction YOU have created with that fake fucking nice guy persona since you came to this site …they may not be hip but you ain’t even the first ive seen run this game homie
I think it’s getting to the point where you have more emotion than logic. I would appreciate it if you would sit back and watch what happens instead of trying to guess, like we have talked about before. No Seeds get passed around over grow without reproductions. If we were interested in keeping everything for ourselves we could have privately contacted each other and started up a separate group outside of overgrow and do the same exact thing we are doing, and nobody else would get anything.
You’ll have to excuse me for a while. I’m not leaving in conversation, but I’m headed to the post office to send in 820 Malana seeds…TO THE COOP.
I think its getting to the point @Guitarzan needs to address what i have said instead of you this is his fuckery just like the paid runs … Was that you @Guitarzan cutting throats on strainly with the freakshows
I hear your moving votes around only one place trains people how to do that
Awesome 8 people getting a pack
Really?, I mean come on.
You want a response? OK.
How many seed runs have you done? I looked, and I couldn’t find one. There’s a term I’ve become familiar with since we started this. It’s “seed run vulture”. A seed run vulture is someone who signs their name on a list, and then watches the mailbox. You know anybody like that? I do, a bunch of them. That’s why a lot of people won’t support the Co-Ops, too many moochers.
There are 82 people signed up for @Upstate’s Malana thread. None of them are Freaks, but they’re getting a 10 pack in their Co-Op box anyway, and they all seem pretty happy about it. In fact, a month or so ago there were several people who were making the same complaints as you are now. I saw a couple of their names on that sign-up sheet too, and they aren’t bitching about getting a 10 pack either,
So, it seems to me the problem here is that a 10 pack just isn’t good enough for you. Well, let me ask you then, just how many seeds do you think you deserve for doing nothing? Let me guess, a hundred?
See, there are no moochers in the Freaker’s Ball. It costs something to be a Freak. Every single person in the FBSC is required to do a minimum of one run per year, full membership requires 2 runs a year. The growers pay the expenses out of their pocket. If you’re willing to make the same commitment you’re more than welcome to join.
I don’t sell seeds on Strainly, or anywhere else. Normally I’d be pretty upset about being called a liar and a cheat, but first I have to give a shit what the other person thinks, so in this case it’s all good.
I don’t even know WTF that means.
Is that enough of a response for you?
As far as seed runs and being a seed vulture goes I’ve been sorting and bagging im guessing close to 5 or 6k seeds for almost a month now as a practice run as to not fuck up a seed run
As far as the rest of what i said i stand on ever fucking word
Do I need to say it?
Would be sweet of you
Fuck off.
Took me a minute but I figured out how to ignore someone.
I’ve loved the idea of the FBSC since I first heard about it. It serves a vital need, in terms of preservation, a need I don’t think can be filled anywhere else. The nature of that role also makes it impossible to win, in terms of pleasing everyone. Make membership too small, and proper preservation doesn’t occur. Make it too large, and then the integrity and foundation of the project can fall apart before it has the chance to really find its footing. I have no doubt the FBSB would eventually want hundreds—if not more—trusted, engaged, and fully participating members. I think they really need some time and space to grow in conservative and linear manner before we try and force them to confront mass scaling in a—let’s be honest—‘challenging’ social media landscape. That’s not fair to expect that right off the bat.
I’m excited about all the Freaker’s grows I’ve seen. I can’t wait to be able to participate and send them seeds for preservation. I have a lot of faith and confidence in their ability and desire to preserve and generously provide seeds to the community.
Thanks for the post @Eudaemon. You’re spot on about membership numbers. That’s why we decided to cap full membership at 50. On the full OP runs, we’ll have enough seeds to load up the Freaks, and still have enough to donate to the Co-Ops, and server auctions.
I talked to LemonadeJoe about the auctions when we first started this. When we’re ready, all we have to do is get with him, and he’ll setup the auction for us. I kinda like the idea of a fixed price per pack kinda thing.
That said, I think it’d be cool to raffle off a “Freaker’s box” with a 10 pack from every Freaker’s run for that year. Set a fixed price donation to the server fund, say $10, and the donation is your ticket. Everyone gets a number, and we use a random number generator to pick the winner.
@Guitarzan that is a really good idea . It would definitely help spread them even more .
we have nothing to do with that freakshow group buy. which had nothing to do with the co-op, it was a private group buy.
Really what this touched on was something all breeders know. Once the genetics is out of your hand it’s not yours. Especially seeds. Its such a touchy subject. At the end of the day tho all the varieties are due to breeders working established lines. I personally have no problem with these seed runs especially the older plant genetics. If someone had done this for blueberry a long time ago I’d be thankful. Staple plants like sour d, og kush, gdp, Northern lights should be preserved in all their glory because they’re timeless. I live in Hawaii and our old school strains are rare here. I’d love true kona gold and Maui wowie. But how would I know what is genuine? I’ve never had them pure and never grown most of the legendary plants. Only smoked them lol. Anyways just saying for me it’s an opportunity to not only see but maybe even cultivate these old or rare genetics. So for me I am grateful for some of these seed runs
I’m searching high and low for pinconning paralyzer, thats the heirloom I’m most interested in. I’d do a decent run of it if I could find it, but I havent seen it in 20 years now.
I’d like to do a FBSC run, but I don’t think I’d want to run anything that would be considered rare or landrace enough, or at least not enough plants for it to count. I like to do a mix of types since I’m the the person smoking 90% of it, and variety is the spice of life, right? I made that mistake my very first grow. Monocrop of chocolope, I ended up with a couple pounds of it… I still am sick of that strain 12 years later because it was all I smoked for months on end.
