I missed your post. What did it say?
Hey @Upstate , it said something to the effect of coop being a little too bureaucratic for my taste these days and asked if the Freakers were taking new apps. Mentioned a couple options that I have to work with.
Demon Latcher - O’haze x Oaxacan Gold
Boel Oaxacan x Dwarf Oaxacan
Highland Guerrero
Punta Roja
Vintage Mexican x Oaxacan Gold
Just a couple ideas. Thanks for getting back.
I’ll second that! If you preserve these please keep me in mind.
Whose Punta?
Highland Guerrero from Cryptic Labs? I hear that’s a great one. There is also a Freakers master list of strains…so you may find something from there as well…
@GREANDAL is finishing a Punta Roja run right now for a small group of people( i think it’s for a group of us)…so there will be seeds floating around OG soon…
The Punta is Snowhigh, and Highland Guerrero is indeed Cryptic. I’d rather do one that hasn’t been done already. Seems to make the most sense anyway.
Sounds like you’ll have a crack at those soon!
Warning, wall of text inbound….
Cryptic lab’s Highland Guerrero is a pure Mexican line that’s highly sought after by people that wish to posses pure lines from this region or just want to take a trip back in time to experience this classic smoke. Highland Guerrero grows to a medium to tall stature with somewhat wider leaf than its cousins, Acapulco gold and Oaxacan gold. They also are darker green and grow large spear shaped buds of great quality. Most of the plants will have a spicy and minty like aroma and some will have the famed garlic or green onion smell. The high is clear, happy and a little mellower than other Mexican varieties, this is not to be confused with a weak high, they are just not as scary or trippy as their cousins. Flowering times will be around 13 to 16 weeks and will cure to a green or lime green spears. Highland Guerrero will do well indoors but really shines outdoors under the sun in a warm climate with a long growing season. They are very efficient feeders and do not require much to produce large yields.
Sounds good. Pencil me in for running this. I will document, but won’t update until way further along. I’d rather any potential fails not be in real time.
The Puntas I have going are Cannabiogen, disallowed by the committee because someone is still reproducing and selling them (Colorado Sativas).
They’re from an actual cbg pack from a Spanish seller.
And damn they’re good. lol
Well there is a twist indeed. I’d still defer to the masses on this one to be honest. If another Punta run is preferred or the Highland Guerrero preferred, I’ll do either. Thanks for your input sir.
Just clarifying. I’ve wanted in the freakers for an age but …
Dang man! I don’t want to steal any shine from your run. Sounds legit as it gets in spite of someone else doing a repro (albeit for profit). Highland Guerrero it is then. You’re a Freaker to the core man, badge or not!
I’m not worried about that at all man, you should grow what you’re interested in. I’d like to see Guerrero tbh.
Thank you
I’m just an old guy who grows whatever he can get his hands on, the harder the better! LOL
I concur with this statement:) and welcome home
Thanks buddy, its always where I wanted to be.
Wait, really? They’re refusing it because someone else is reproducing and selling it without permission? What’s next, is the co-op going to shut down entirely out of respect for Copycat Genetics? After all, reproducing anything could interfere with his plans to S1 and sell it…
If I can legally fulfill the requirements for an open pollination I’d be interested. Should know later this year.
Well that’s just what I was told, that since it was still “on the market” there was no danger of it disappearing ergo no need for a repro. Nothing to do but kick rocks and make seeds! LOL
