Hi @Dabber68, have you used this product yet? Got any pictures?
Some other members here have used it with mixed results.
I have not seen this. What seemed to be the problem?
I´ve been using it this run (5 to 8 grams per gallon, with almost every watering), since the ammended soil mix I prepared seems to be lacking some oomph. The plants have reacted well to it.
Someone, @horribleherk56 I believe was having some issues with it. He commented on how GH 3-part was working better for him.
I know @Jellypowered loves it.
Just ordered the free 230g sample. I’m using GH Micro/Bloom presently. I’ll split my next grow for comparison.
ive been using it with my soil grow with pretty nice results but i have no other nuted grows to compare it to…i can say that i add 6.5g of it to a gallon of water and feed that way with no burn issues
ive got great color and though i cant vouch for increased bud sites that it boasts, i can say it does show me excellent growth and amazing color with no signs of being hungry or locked out…
that sounded awful scripted hahaha but seriously i like it
I’m glad to get more responses as to the results of this product. It makes the topic less like spam and more of a discussion. Thanks!
I use it, and so far it’s been rocking out. It’s time saving, it’s stable in a res, and it dissolves really easily.
Not to mention the fact that it’s only one product and I don’t have to have an army of bottles anymore.
It’s possible some users might be having issues because they weren’t feeding enough ppm. I’ve noticed you can mix this stuff pretty hot and it doesn’t seem to burn like other brands do. For example 2500ppm in emerald harvest nutes would fry my plants in the past. During the heaviest growth period I was giving my current plants 2500ppm and they were loving it.
Only thing is, that smell before you mix it lol
oh for sure!!
i talked to the company when i got it because i wanted to know if it would be safe to feed soil plants with because the instructions are for res and hydro and he said that it would be fine to mix with water and feed that way…
now my question @Jellypowered is the ppm chart they have on their site shows my 6.5g:1 gallon of water is only 591 ppm… should that be higher?
Nope, their chart is pretty accurate based on my observations. My tap water is around 70-140 ppm mostly calcium so mine reads a little higher than their chart but it’s on par with the chart considering my tap ppm
schweet!! overall then yea… megacrop makes my plants happy
I picked up one of the sample packs and have been using it for the last 10days or so.
To early to really tell but so far it looks promising. Typically i use the maxi series for convenience.
I’m still using it in one tent & gh floranova bloom only as the base nutrient in the other it’s not gonna be fully evaluated until both grows are complete I’m a long time user of gh nutes & im having to learn to keep an open mind when comparing the 2 nutes as the megacrop is being used on a finicky strain in my first grow of it & the gh is being used on a second round of a sound performing strain so you have to take into consideration there is a huge learning curve in the megacrop grow I’m at some point have to weigh all the evidence on what I’m gonna run exclusively
@horribleherk56 Liking it so far? For example, vs. previous grows of your finicky strain.
Are you guys using Megacrop only, or topping it up with something else? It would also be nice to know if you use it on hydro, soil, etc.
I have not grown this before ( candyland ) but seriously think ( after seeing other people’s grows of this) I’ve got a strain that just isn’t a powerhouse none of my issues are megacrop related I do use cal mag I’m growing in a coco based media called royal gold tupur & using a 200 w. led , single plant 3x3 tent
Uploading…Ive exchanged several emails with the Mega Crop folks about their on-line PPM chart and the use of PPM meters.
I got a bit annoyed with them when I THOUGHT they were not understanding or not answering my questions at first. I wanted to know which conversion setting to use on my PPM meter. Most nute brands seem to use the 500 scale. but several use the 700 scale, and I wanted to know which one they used. You need your meter set to the proper scale - to match the one your nute maker uses - or you wont get accurate readings.
Turns out they dont use any scale because they are NOT using meters to come up with those PPM numbers. They are calculated based on mg/litter. That means your PPM meter may or may not give you the same readings and you CANNOT rely on your meter as far as exact initial dosing or to check for nute depletion in the rez between water changes. Most likely your meter will NOT agree with their in-line chart.
You will need to take a measurement when you first mix up the nutes based on the recommended weight/volume. Then use that number as the base PPM number. Then reference back to that number when checking your rez PPM levels. Do NOT reference back to the feeding chart on the web site unless your meter happens to agree with their calculated numbers.
Also - you cannot use your meter to set the mix ratio. You must go by their weight ratios to start off or your concentrations will almost certainly be way off from their recommended levels.
When I pointed out the difficulty their system was going to cause to people who rely on PPM meters, they said they were working on an EC chart based on actual measurements rather than calculated values. Its taking them some time because they said they wanted to run tests with several different meters to get an average value. If they just used one GOOD meter and calibrate it properly, that would not be necessary, but…
Hopefully, they will have the EC chart out soon.
By the way, that wasnt meant as a hit against Mega Crop. Its not that they are doing anything wrong, its just not the way many people think they are doing it. I would not be surprised if some of the folks having issues with Mega Crop is because they are using their PPM meter instead of weighing the product to get started, and getting the wrong dosing.
You cannot rely on your meter UNLESS you do what I suggested above and get an initial reading after doing it by weight.
It’s almost dummy proof the 1st girls have been fed since day 1 and will be 2 weeks old in a couple days and the Kush girls since week 3
The only thing I know of is that if coco is used a little extra Cal Mag may be needed. I can only speak for my results. I can show you this plant @ 10 days has roots already coming from bottom drain whole and is a beast. I run multiple strains at 1 time and they all love it.
