Nice shots, love it!
Thatās really why I wanna grab some camera that has macro capabilities, whether itās that Olympus or something else. Iām getting kind of sick of just making educated guesses about when to chop.
Get this for checking the trichs, saving you $ for other things.
EDIT: that camera is pretty damn cool so get it if you can.
Nah, I want a camera. In addition to being able to see the trichs, itād be cool to be able to post those pics, too.
Really I just wanna be like syzygy haha.
Going to need some feminized seeds grown in alfalfa & biochar tea
I like being able to post them and look back on them as well, and for me itās way easier to judge the trichomes from an assortment of pictures taken at multiple places on the plant on a larger computer screen. Unnecessary for sure but itās cool / nice to have. If you have the money to buy one used itās probably a better investment in the hobby than seeds that would sit in a fridge at least.
This is a great idea! Yes, the camera is a more useful tool than i ever would have imagined.
Culled a healthy SSDD bbs female and replaced with a new SSDD female.
culled
replaced with
SsdD 3
Hereās a shot of the waking dream top looking happy.
SSDD #2 looking happy. I really like the vegetative traits of this plant at the moment. Very healthy, vigorous and stout / tight internodes.
And hereās the SSDD #1 male. Lower leaves are showing some slight issues but everything will be OK. Appears like the male flowers have bulbous trichomes on them too.
Dude! Your shots are making me think I need to dig out my point and shoot to see what capabilities it has. These shots are a helluva lot better than my phone and making me think I can do better for all of you. Beautiful!!
Thanks! I always liked your pictures and often the phone shots give a better perspective on whatās going on. Would have been too much effort to move the Waking Dream and get more of the plant in the image. I donāt like taking pictures on my active phone but I do have an old phone that I occasionally use, though often forget to charge haha. Hereās a phone shot of the result of the culled SSDD plantā¦
Iām really looking forward to seeing what you guys have in that cedar SFVxW15 pheno. The cedar smelling pheno I had was in my top 3 from Bodhi (nice effects not overly potent, great summertime herb).
Thanks man!! I still havenāt fired up the Polaroid, but itās been on my mind lately to do so.
I hear ya! I have to be careful showing pictures of my baby to people. āHere are some pictures of my newborn, here are 30 pictures of big fat donkey dick colas, hereās the baby again.ā Definitely donāt let them scroll!
Me too! Iāve been wanting to get into SunRa for a while now. Itās going to be a good summer with the current lineup of SS4, SunRa, Black Raspberry-Razz leaner, and Space Cowboy. Summertime and the livinā is easy! Weāll definitely keep you updated!
haha
Ya Iām also very interested in Space Cowboy and Black Raspberry, I have a pack of each of those in storage but never tried them. Watching both of your projects for sure!
Another cool use of the TG6 that I forgot to mention is that itās a useful tool for taking pictures of bugs when seeking help identifying them. I used to have a ton of pictures of beneficials & pests taken with the TG6 but today when I saw a stinkbug (pest) I figured Iād take a few shots with the camera.
Moving soil millipede so this one was harder to capture. 2nd image is cropped and shows the red dot problem at the bottom / left.
Dude, those pictures are cuh-ray-zeeee haha, Iām definitely gonna have to invest in that tg6 before the next grow. I donāt see the red dot thing youāre talking about, though.
Agreed, i thought you had uploaded some National Geographic pics.
Yeah itās not a big deal but some people nit-pick about it and I can sort of understand it at the current pricing. The camera was 370~ new when I got mine used and now itās 400-500 or so I think. Doesnāt affect my use of the camera but just thought Iād throw it out there so people know of it in advance. Hereās a zoomed in / cropped part of an image I took of my dogās hair. The red dot is only like 1 pixel but is visible when zoomed in. :
from above image also
Can see from this review in 2020 it retailed at 379 still for reference.
Yeah, I found the red dot in the millipede picture. Honestly, if I didnāt know that was a thing the camera did, I woulda just thought it was light reflecting off a piece of, like, mineral in the dirt haha or something.
$400-$500 still doesnāt seem too bad for pics like those, although it is bullshit that it increased so much in only three years. Iām gonna check out a camera shop or three and see if I can find one used. Or see if theyāll give me a discount if I pay cash or something.
Looking like SSDD male is going to start dropping pollen soon, I imagine within a day. Still not sure what Iām doing here. Undecided whether I want to just let the male do his thing vs removing it from area, collecting pollen and then selectively applying it.
Letting the timer on the bomb get to 1 before you defuse it, huh? Very 90ās action movie of you.
Well do you want ALL the seeds and no smoke? Or some seeds and still have some to smoke too?
Youāre like pothead Billy Shakespeare.
haha well a little early pollen never hurt anything.
I am debating whether itās worth having some partially unseeded areas in order to observe the physical qualities of the new females. The mother SSDD is getting fully pollinated for sure. Itās probably more effort than itās worth to do it manually and would be easier to just let the male do its thing. Still havenāt fully made up my mind but Iām leaning towards just leaving him at the moment.
The having smoke thing isnāt really at the forefront of my mind because of the way I approach process of elimination. Effects matter for sure but I find effects that I like are there in the majority of what I sample from Bās work. Potency isnāt a huge deal to me either. As of now I have yet to experience pain relief in any cannabis, but am open to that changing in the future. That leaves superficial traits as the ones that are most attractive to me (variety keeps things interesting too of course) when it comes to keeping stuff.
In an ideal world I would be filtering for superficial traits that I desire first and then check to see if they pass the test for effects later. It would be nice to have a bit of a sneak-peak into the traits of the untested plants in order to get a feel for what I may want to explore.
