From SSeeDD to sail.. exploring SSDD, pollen chucks & Bodhi Crosses

Awesome, thanks for testing them out and reporting on your experience w them! Relieved to hear no major intersex issues are present so far. An issue I’ve always had with the mom has been retaining the smell well into cure, hopefully you don’t have that issue. It’s cool to hear you found some buttery / blueberry smelling plants in the mix. The smell almost coming out of nowhere really sounds similar to the mom. Extreme frost always sounds nice too!

Thanks again @Knifeman !

I’m seriously considering just abandoning the grow and attempting a reveg. I would 100% do it if I was more confident in my reveg skills. Just thinking out loud. A couple of these I’d love to run again with a more appropriate sized container. Spirit HP 2 , REJ , and Devil’s HP 1 specifically.

REJ is looking really nice right now

**Devil’s HP 1 ** looks and smells pretty nice as well

Here’s another Devil’s HP -

Could take or leave the other Devils HP - don’t have a picture of it.

I like both Spirit HPs too…

Spirit HP 1

Spirit HP 2 - I love the look of this one in person and I know it does not have nearly enough rootspace to get to the finish line in good health.

Not doing anything right away - my next day off is Saturday so am going to think for a while about what I want to do.

No way, dude. What’re you talking about? Haha. Just fucking grow them. They’re closer to being done than not being done. They’re, like, almost there! Do. Not. Trash. Those. Plants. Haha…

Well I meant that I really want to try to salvage them, not trash them haha. It would be trashing them If I failed to reveg though…

Eh… Don’t get ahead of yourself, you know? Worry about it later… haha!

You could take a couple clones off each one, root them, and then try to reveg the clones, but I haven’t had a lot of luck with that. Trying to balance the humidity so the clone doesn’t die but the flower doesn’t mold, can be a big pita.

There isn’t much in the way of side branches , would have to cut a top off most of them.

The only one with any side branches long enough to take cuttings is the triple sunshine haha.

There is one I could try though

ah… beautiful tk/og structures right there  of course no side branches, what was I thinking
I’d just reveg then if you’re thinking you might want to keep them. Hopefully they do it.

Going to be starting a new general thread either today or tomorrow to keep things here a bit more in line with the topic (ssdd / ssdd crosses).

Some pictures from today. Took lots of them, some are just minor adjustments or lighting differences.

Which of them is your favorite now?

Spirit HP 2 - If I could only choose one it would be this one.

I really like the flower morphology on this one. It has a very nice spicy rubber-based smell that I love, and sticks on you for a long time. The overall plant characteristics appear more OG than the others and is the outlier. More 3 blade leaves than the others as well.

Redeye Jedi 1-

Going off the look on this one - It reminds me a bit of my REJ from a previous run.

Devils HP 1 - Beautiful plant and I am a big fan of my previous Devil’s HP, so I have high hopes for it. Good smell

Disclaimer : Everything can change and effects haven’t been tested.

We are around day 45-46 right now. If I reveg Spirit HP I have to do everything because of height limitations. This is the only area I really have tall enough to house the Spirit HP 2. Unless I cut half of it down of course… That’s partially why I’m dragging my feet on this.

That was the one that I was like,”Hmm, okay,” when I saw those pics earlier. I was gonna comment on it, but I got an incoming Uber Eats order and had to bounce :joy::weary::joy::weary:.

That #1 Devil’s Hashplant does look good, though. Seems like the leaves aren’t getting as gnarly as they are on some of the other plants, too.

Yeah the leaves on Devil’s HP 1 & 3 aren’t as bad as the others, but I still did prune a lot off. They didn’t get the best start so I think in a more reasonable sized pot → plant size ratio there shouldn’t be any issues. I anticipated this early on, just didn’t want to take cuttings, put in new media and all that.

Ssdd f2 still popping out white hairs lol she’s got that woody/spicy/earthy thing when you open the tent, but breaking the resin heads in your fingers it’s all candied lemon.

How late into flowering are you approx? Looks nice and frosty from here. Hopefully it starts uniformly ripening for you! Don’t think I’ve encountered that smell yet, but we all perceive these things differently. Was that the one that had muted smells before? If not did that one ever turn around? Thanks for posting these here!

I’m honestly not too sure, I totally just didn’t even count this round. My best guess is somewhere around 9 or 10 weeks ? Maybe even more lol. I’m wondering if this is what Appalachia looks like. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a pic of an Appy female actually.

And no that is the other plant that you said looked like the bubbashine pheno. It’s been chopped for over a week now. That plant does smell now actually. It’s a funky chem type smell to me, at least it is at this point in time haha

I couldn’t answer the appalachia question but I did notice a bud on ICMag having a very similar looking foxtail in the center of their Appalachia bud back in 2010

Haha, I was gonna link to that exact smoke report for Tessellated’s benefit. I think that’s one of the only Appalachia things I’ve seen written by somebody other than H&L or Bodhi or other breeder types.
