Garden-Buddy's Basement

Some flower pics for you, im almost to week 7 since 12/12 lighting.

PPP is freaking me out, the pistils just turned basically overnight on not very developed flowers, so i have no idea, nothing changed and everything else seems pretty happy.

Scoped the trichomes on the PPP and the Purple Urkle BX. Wanted to see them up close be cause the PPP pistils turned brown basically overnight and the Purple Urkle BX is starting to look close. They are only 7.5 weeks under flower lighting, so that is kinda weird but they might just be fast flowering.

Here is the PPP

Ha! This cycle has been the worst!

Vegged way too long, trying to sex everything. Then flowered too many plants. Now Ive found spider mites on the Colombian Gold plants 10+ weeks into flower!

I immediately sprayed the last of some Buildasoil EM-5 in a 1:1 ratio and put in an order for some Amazing Dr Zymes. Gonna hit everything with that and hope for the best i guess.

The only plants still going are the DBHP, Zamaldelica, and the CG. The CG is the only one that ive looked at under a microscope, but im sure the others are on their way, if not already infested. Gonna spray everything heavily with the Zymes when it arrives, and take the DBHP down, while fighting bugs on the longer flowering sativas.

Whoohoo:( Never dealt with bug problems at this stage, deep into flower. Im hoping that i can finish both the CG and the Zamaldelica. Especially the Zam, it is my favorite plant this round.

Ok, the Amazing Doctor Zymes Eliminator arrived today and i did my first treatment. The DBHP will be coming down soon. My main concern is the Zam and the CG that still have a ways to go. I will spray 3 days in a row and then weekly after. I figure the Zam has a couple few weeks left and the CG has at least 6 more weeks, so tha bugz gotz to go!

Have hit the plants with the Zymes a couple times now and out if curiosity scoped a few leaves. Im happy to report that i saw no signs of life and i saw several dead mites!

I chopped down the DBHP, defanned it and swished all the buds in Dr Zymes, let them drip dry a few hours, then swished them in a bucket of filtered water. They are now hanging, to be put together n grove bags when ready.

The way ive been using the grove bags is to let the buds get close to what i guess is mid 60s on cheap humidity sensor, then into grove bags with a 62% boveda to pull it the rest of the way down, if it climbs i pull the buds out to dry some more in ambient air, repeating until everything stabilizes. Then i plan to remove the boveda.

Still fighting spider mites. Saw one crawling under microscope today, damnit.

Is weird though, they only seem to really be affecting one plant. I have the Zamaldelica f2 and two Colombian Golds left to finish, they are all going on 14 weeks in flower.

I haven’t even seen a spider mite on the Zamaldelica f2 or the other CG(though it’s fan leaves are all yellowing,no specks or webbing)

Gonna shut down and deep clean after this run, totally reset. I do want to keep my soil though, so ill have to get some predators going forward, and be on a strict ipm regimen.

It took me nearly 8 months to get rid of the mites I had. Spray everything in your grow tent, not just what you think are affected, it only takes 1 egg missed and you are back to square 1again after a couple of months. In the end I stopped growing for 6 months and raised the temps in the tent to make any missed eggs hatch and did a few sulphur burns and bleach and steam cleans to make sure none were still alive.

Good luck killing those little feckers off permanently.

Yeah, it is going to be a challenge for sure.

I’ve dealt with broad mites before, but i was early on in veg and was able to use wettable sulfur to get on top of it. Haven’t seen them since, and it has been over a year.

These fuckers snuck up on me though, and they are really just affecting the one plant. I might end up just not growing anything during late summer early fall while the pest pressure is high.

Have sprayed Dr Zymes early morning before lights on for the last two days in a row and just now saw one under the microscope still crawling. I think that is about all i can do right now as far as spraying during flower, and it doesn’t seem to be working very well.

Im still gonna harvest the flowers, but i’ll be doing a thorough bud wash with dr Zymes and a heavy rinse with water. That’s what i did with everything else from this run. I will probably wash all my harvest going forward anyway.

Man, really thought the Zamaldelica f2 would be done by now, but here we are going on 15 weeks now, plant looking ragged, and the trichomes are still crystal clear. Im just gonna let it ride i guess. Sprayed more Dr Zymes this morning. ugly pictures…

Colombian gold with spider mites…

Here is the other Colombian Gold, looking rough but doesn’t seem to be displaying as much spider mite damage…

Took the Zamaldelica f2 down today after 16 weeks of flower. Must be pretty resistant to spider mites, as it was only just starting to show some damage after spending weeks next to an infested Colombian Gold.

I washed the buds in Dr Zymes, let them drip dry for about an hour, then rinsed them off with plain water and have them hanging up with lots of fans blowing.

House is smelling good

Did some deep cleaning the other day.

I pulled all the beds out and vacuumed behind and under them, removed all equipment from the flower room, took fans apart and washed them with soap. Sprayed walls, floor, and seedling tent down with tilex bleach cleaner. All as a first pass. Next i’ll take my extraction fan apart and clean it, wash the prefilter, replace the charcoal filter. Wipe lights down with alcohol.

Im taking the grow offline for October to get everything cleaned and reset. I’ll be super on top of pest control when I start again, and im thinking of trying to have everything finished by late summer next year to avoid the heavy pest pressure.

I’m using Grove bags instead of jars this round for curing. I do like that the bags don’t shatter like glass can and that they can be stored easier, but im not sure they hold the humidity constant, several of them dropped from 60-62% to 55% (after being stable for several days) upon removal of boveda packs.

Good luck, I hope you kill all those nasty little bastards. Before you start cleaning run your tents at a nice warm temperature for a week to get any possible eggs hatched that might be hidden in nooks and crannies.

Just came home from the Rogue River Valley. Was gifted these Brother’s Grimm originals, crosses that were made with them, and some other things. So much dank! Purple Urkle F1s, Flo, purple urkle x gmo, cherry mimosa,…very exciting stuff. Didn’t know what i was gonna run next but it is looking like lots of C99 and C99 crosses/cousins. Im ready for some faster finishing stuff and C99 is legendary so can’t wait to see what comes out of that:)

Sifted some black gold out of the worm/saw fly/isopod/…bin. Now i will let it sit on this pan in the Sun so some of the remaining critters will leave, then i will store it in a gamma seal bucket for awhile before i use it in some starter mix and top dress.
