Getting a doggg

That’s big George damn.

My uncle had one and he leaned over top of her one day while she was drinking. She got startled and raised her head fast, hitting my uncle with the crown of her head right into his nose and broke it.

Powerful they are

In Spain, there’s an organization that gives you labrador puppies to train them and give them later on to blind people. They are loyal, with mental stability and wise, the perfect companion for a family with kids … :sunglasses:

I’ve had 2 labs, both awesome dogs. Used to travel to fish with me. Good with kids also

Very giddy and excitable IMHO never seem to get out of bad traits once they’ve picked them up. But more so because they’re clever so are sneaky so like some dogs you could leave a room with your food in it and the dog won’t eat it. Labs are the kind of dogs that be straight at the plate soon as you turn your back BUT that being said they’re loyal from the one my grandad has I wouldn’t say they’re great around kids but he is reeeeally excitable so he knocks kids over other than that mate they aren’t a bad breed.

Get some heirloom or landrace seeds from Overdog and grow your own.

Which ever breed you choose, if you have the chance sit down and watch the whole litter play for at least half an hour then you can see the different phenotypes  . Dogs all have different personalities just like humans, so watch the pups and see which one likes the people and doesn’t chew on everything it sees, which is hyperactive and the one that is just chill.
It’s best to get the dog that you don’t have to train/condition a certain way but already has the traits and attitude that you are looking for naturally.

I always end up picking the one that comes and sits with me, just chills out with my company and just watches the others.

I’m a pitbull lover! Smartest, best dog I’ve ever had. Honestly though… I love them all! Yay for you! My favorite breed though is a RESCUE

Well, basically that’s what they do! I guess I would have more success than with plants . The difference is that they are animals and breeders are like Doctor Mengele and play with genetics as if they were gods. The Dobermans drive crazy because their head is too small and the brain grows and has no room, others have the nose too short because it is in trend and cannot breeze, or their skin has too many pledges because it is cool and they have infections because of that …

I have a friend who is a German Dogue breeder, I bought him the first and choose it from the other puppies because she was cute, very friendly and climbed on my knees:

Others, for example, choose the puppy ALFA that always eats first, not for me, thanks …

That was in the sunny south coast, later on, I moved to the north coast, and almost seven years later one night she died. That same night I went to the webpage form my friend and chose the one I have now. He sent it to me by airplane in a little jail, here’s how she was that day:

As Pedro said it is important to personally choose with the right criteria, I wouldn’t adopt one because you don’t know what happened to them in the past, I know I am egoist and have admiration for those who rescue them, but it is a sort of marriage for life and you must carefully choose the right one. Unfortunately, as this was a blind date this was finally dominant, so I suppose it is the punishment for not being married , at least I can imagine how would that be … :sunglasses:

EDIT: Here’s a video this breeder sent me, hope you will like these little panthers …

I’ve had a few labs including a chocolate lab. Great dogs. They are super good with kids and can be trained to be guard dogs as well.
Food hounds which makes them easier to train as well.

One other thing I’d suggest. Unless you’re specifically after a purebreed/papered/lineage dog, get your next semi-human from the pound/rspca/animal rescue. Not only will you build some karma, but you’ll gain much respect. (Maybe as many as three pips on the real life pip chart )

Great Pyrenees are good guard dogs they are smart and have some size behind em. I have one crossed to a husky for better drive/endurance.

American Pitbull Terrier. They love kids and protect them. Obedient, easy to train. Great protector, at the same time if you allow some one into your property, they will love them.

Very short hair, so not so much grooming.
Low health issues, and must be get from responsible breeder…

Bull mastiff all the way if you can cope with the slobbering. Only breed I’d own personally.
