Ghost og (orgnkid cut)

It really depends on what your looking for out of the end result. When kush first made its rounds in Southern California very few people were able to get it based on limited amounts being produced and people outbidding each other for it before it was even done.
By the time most people were able to get kush aka og kush there were already tons of different variations being passed around. The issue this causes is that what some remember or are seeking based on descriptions is different then what the next person is after because different peoples first encounters with kush were often already some hybrid or s1 seeds somebody was holding on to like gold. The ghost may or may not be the best plant for your environment or growing methods , some taste vastly different.
I still want a verifiable triangle kush or josh d or the 92og from him that looks different then what I have as 92og but cuts from his motherā€™s donā€™t make it outside of his close circles.

Ghost is the one that I canā€™t find up here and itā€™s on my list of all time favorites

Well my second grow of Ghost is going fairly well end of week two flower. She is finicky to put it in the best single word for me but I will keep growing her. I plan on giving them a haircut tomorrow.

However I still have trouble with small moms and clones of her. Finicky she seems to me and still trying to figure out how to keep a bonsai Ghost doing well. I think Iā€™m going to have to simply replace moms on a short few month schedule. I have kept plenty of strains of bonsai moms in the past but Ghost is kicking my ass.

I always keep back ups and replace about every 3 months but I do that with all the strains I hold moms of. I keep lower branches and prune aggressively , once you she what she likes it actually bonsai mode actually helps a lot because the clones tend to be thicker stemmed then when she is allowed to stretch.
finicky yes and when happy will grow five fingers but can be hard to clone and difficult to tame. Lots of light and super cropping or sea of green works well

Well after using the USB microscope I could actually take them today but Im going to hold them another few days. Probably day 60 maybe a few more till 63. Unless Im wrong Ghost isnt a real big yielder compared to some. I did have luck getting clones to root and take off but they just took a few extra days and now I have a couple that look nice and healthy. Just need to as I said keep them in rotation and replaced a bit earlier. I hope this is as good as the first one after a chop and cure. We really liked this one. Next up CBH in a few weeks or so.

Thanks to Heratige Farms for the info and pointers. Im trying to snag back the BlueDream I got but lost last year along with the rest. I only want to hold 4 at the most cuts at any time for the future as I can see since chasing srains is a endless hampster wheel. I have 2 and have a promising line I hope on the other 2. No rush. But Im sticking to my LEDā€™s !

Thatā€™s the Ghost mom pollen receiver in the photo, not the cross, tho. Thatā€™s why I was asking, itā€™s an especially sharp photo of the cut

I actually have a pack of Golden Sombrero x Big Sur Holly Weed #2 by Meatwad Genetics in a sealed vendor pack with 11 seeds in itā€¦ Talk about something to preserve huh?

Created my Black Oger using Oregon Kids Oger, which is the Ghost Cut that was bought by Ghost and just renamed, shared out and sold to masses when he was asked not to by Oregon Kid. Now has this undeserved claim to fameā€¦ Sad. and why I hate calling me Ghost Oger, itā€™s not.trueā€¦ doh.

I used my Oregonkid Oger and hit it with Vietnamese Black F3 maleā€¦

My Breeders to make Black Oger

Draig and LZ are doing a full on preservation of this strain to be shared with the fellow growers of this site, with permission of courseā€¦ Thanks Lady Zandra for taking on 2 big projects this year with Celtic Stone up next.

cheers

Oger is the seeds he produced using the og clone that became known as ghost og.
Did you breed with the clone or the oger beans ?

No I did notā€¦ from what I understandā€¦ Wesos got them from Oregon Kid probably the cuttingā€¦ forget who was next, but then KM1 had it and it wound up with Bareā€¦

Note: The only reason there is a Ghost Oger is because, Ghost paid $1000 for a clone and was supposed to keep it to himself Instead he sold and sold and sold cuttings calling them the Ghost Oger. but in actuality there is no Ghost Oger. Just Oregon Kids Oger. Just another person taking credit for the hard work of others. but who cares, look at her. omg sheā€™s a frost monster. Outdoor in Hawaii she got huge.

Now, I have no idea who or how they became beans, Iā€™d guess someone reversed a plant because the few I got were all females.
Barefrog gifted me the seeds, I think 5. So I grew out the seeds and hit a female with a Vietnamese Black male shown above and now testing the offspring.

Iā€™m very familiar with the history , and you answered my question , the seeds were originally made by orgnkid and that is what is called oger. Og kush was originally called kush then og kush and the cutting orgnkid got became known as ghost because of the history you have already mentioned.
Orgnkid was making and selling og kush s1 seeds and then he found a male out of the selfed seeds and some regulars were released.
Ghost og is a clone only cut of ogkush while oger is a seed version of that plant.
It was not called ghost oger you are combining two separate things. Now if you crossed the oger back to the ghost cut the name would make sense.
I have the verified ghost og from orgnkid and I have the same ogers beans your playing with , ive grown both and although there are similarities the oger tend to be much thicker plants with closer spacing between the branches.

Wowā€¦ it is so nice to meet you. Sure appreciate your knowledge on all thisā€¦ taking notes sir.

Makes sense. Now, next question isā€¦ whatā€™s the deal with Oger & Ogre??

So these were in seed form all along huh?

ā€˜Ogerā€™ or ā€˜OGā€™erā€™ is that Ghost or OG seed line you all have been talking about.

ā€˜Ogreā€™ is a clone only cut of SensiStar. I think by PhilCuisine here.

Looks like there IS an ā€˜Ogre OGā€™ or ā€˜Ogre Kushā€™, but thatā€™s supposed to be skunk #1 x master kush x bubba kush :face_with_monocle: No idea where that one comeā€™s from.

Oger seeds I think went out in one of the boxes ? I know Iā€™ve got a pack So whatā€™s that seed line ?

That would be the oger that was originally from Orgnkid and was preserved by a member here up in Canada.

Iā€™d love to trade for this cut so bad!

Itā€™s incredibleā€¦ I used it to make seeds crossing it to a Vietnamese Black F3.

The Oger seeds came from Barefrog via KM1 and I forget who else coming from Oregon Kid himself.

Photo 1 is my 1st grow with her, I sent cuttings to a friend in KY. noobfromdixie who did a great job with herā€¦
Sent 4 cuts to Hawaii and DB really blew her up bigā€¦ still working her I believe

I run s2s I made from his s1s that I got off him years ago frequently . I believe its the same plant I found in colorado around 2012 . Yes itā€™s legit and still one of my favorites. Compared to some of the other ogs I grew its more stretchy and sativa dominant. Strong woody lemon scents from stem rubs can be smelled early on and heavily during flowering. I get a weird leaf varigation on about 3/4 of the plants simular to the varigation I get from my chemD seeds. Best og I found in seed form
