Grove Bags.... Has anyone tried them on a cure?

What is it with shipping between US and Canada? I’m in US, won a bad ass light in a raffle. Knew in advance I was splitting shipping. Shipped from Canada, after shipping and duty fees my free light cost almost $300
Still a nice light though…

I wanted to get some too, that’s a good idea to have a bulk Canadian order.

Has anyone tried these? This picture got me banned from Facebook for a week for saying “lazy Americans ”. I haven’t tried bags just curious.

What’s your method with these? Do you try to dry to ~60 RH before putting them in the bags? My biggest question is what would happen if you bagged too early? Namely, would this accelerate molding?

@Bow4Buck please give your insights too✌🏻

I chop my tree, I hang it upside down for 1-2 days in my grow tent, straight to paper bags for 3 days, then to the bags (I have the sample package so not a lot) and jars.

I am one that can take a bud off the tree and smoke it on the spot, you have a really good sense of flavour, smell doing that, of course a cure is better, 30 days is a good start, longer better of course

EDIT: Bagging early brings some dangers, mold, rot, etc, you can also burp the bags, but burp a little longer. I use the stems to tell me if I am early or late, my sweet spot is bendable, almost snapping, but everyone does it different, whatever works best for you.

All my fb accounts are banned rn. They’ve been really cracking down. Make a joke about white people(I’m white) boom 30 day ban.

30 posts were merged into an existing topic: Damn og I thought you were different :pensive:

Thanks @MoBilly, pretty cool product. I bookmarked it so I can try them in the future. It’s so dry here normally that it’s hard to get a good cure without over drying.

With those shipping costs I hope they make it into the local Grow Shop.

I plan to spend a few $s and get a digital moisture meter. Stick the probe in and instantly know the exact moisture level in a bud.

I have a small sawmill and I’m building a kiln. The meter will come in handy.
Oh and their cheapish. Some are extremely expensive but this one is the kind my brother uses and it works great. Tested beside a $300 model and was within 2%.

I’ll take $23 over $300 any day of the week :handshake:

Mine were a little under $10 for shipping, not great, but not Canada bad. I can’t imagine that having them shipped to the states, and then reshipped to canada wouldn’t save a whole lot of $, but if you need any help, lmk

I think buds go in the bag after hang drying…

I do dry as normal. These are not for drying and is a step that should be done with care as usual. I do try to get around 62-60%
Once I know the drying is done and ready they get trimmed and go in the bags.
Not sure what would happen if you went in early. The bags are designed to release excess moisture so might be helpful in this case. For more info on that I’d contact a rep. Id just be lying if I said I knew.

I came across them when the wife and I was watching a video. They did a whole segment on them. Thought I’d give em a try and they have done superb for me so far.

That is the in the FAQs on the site. I was interested because I have problems with overdrying way quicker due to my environment, so I was going to try putting the buds in containers early this run

I pretty much use stem snap as well. For me I don’t want them to break off but I want hear a little snap when bent. Then they are ready…

I’m just about to put my woodland mills hm22 together. Building a frame for it shortly. Building a solar kiln. I’m kinda hesitant to cheap out on the moisture meter though

Where have u heard about the cheaper one or did you just find it online

Does have good reviews on Amazon that’s for sure.

My brother is a woodturner. This is what he has. He buys stock from some locals that specialize in Walnut, and burls of any variety.
Anyway, one guy that he bought from said “Don’t use that cheap meter, I have a good one”. He pulled out his $300 + meter and double checked the reading. There was approximately 1.5 % difference in the readings.
That’s close enough for government work and I can hold on to my funds.
