Growin' and Chuckin'

The seeds were in the freezer for three or four months, but I did not know about the outer shell being that hard. Maybe taking a little rooting hormone, mixing that with water, and then applying the solution to the seeds for a few days, would help soften up the outer shell. Could help speed up the process.

No idea about the rooting hormone. their seeds are suppose to be spread by birds, so the outer coating needs to be dissolved. That’s what’s stopped me from trying to germinate any of my own, I don’t want to get a bottle of sulfuric acid to just do a few seeds. Granted I have a pet bird that I can just collect the seeded poop from . Maybe just roughing them with sandpaper will work, but everything I’ve read used a chemical of some sort.

Swoon. :joy: Msg me your addy and I’ll send you some beans. USA only.

Bud, day 25. Everything looking textbook. I have several interesting plants developing. A little too early to get a good idea of aromas. Added a picture of the LED I’m purchasing and hibiscus cuttings from Georgia. Trying to root the bastards but they’re not easy.

This pheno could be something special. Sandalwood spice until I squeeze the bud. The smell is sweet candied apple and incense. Frost is laying down much earlier than the SMH.

Sounds pretty nice. She’s a lovely lady, too :grinning:

Impressive @MG_Canna. Is that a double CMH situation you’ve got going in there? I’ve been eyeing those lately. Great Growin’ bro. RESPECT!

@oleskool830 Right now I run 1 600mh and 1 600hps. I usually shut the hps off the last couple weeks of bud. I think it keeps the top nugs from loosing flavor, with no noticeable loss in yield. But I’m buying an LED which will allow me to hang my carbon filter, giving me room for six fat plants instead of four. Full spectrum. 680watt equivalence to 1000w hps, no heat, better nugs, better terpenes…I’m excited

GERMINATING SEEDS:
5 Garlic Knot bx f2 this is an AlienOG/Chemdog 4 X Garlic Breath.) x Aliendog/Chemdog 4 All around great yielder with big fat nugs, Doing the bx was to hopefully have more plants like the Alien 4 with bits of GB mixed in
4 Tai Chi f4. - stupid dank ass plant that coats every bud drip with resin. Also throws five of 6 nanner. Plants are finished in 79-77 days. I usually use a tweezer because there are so little. They pop out randomly. Not a big deal for someone like me with my 5x5, but not ready for commercial grows. Needs several more years to breed that nanner out. Also shown are my two Atomic Grape tomato plants, Ghost peppers, and echinacea

Finally…three of the four Sensi Seeds Afghan have popped, which is a huge surprise considering the seeds were purchased in the 80’s. That’s correct. 50 year old seed. The seeds will be used in some breeding projects, if I see a standout.

Also in the pictures are male and female clones of Peacemaker. Males are going to the breeder. Female are for breeding and maybe another run.

I’m jealous! I could do the 600s (Mh & Hps) though. That’s so interesting. How was the heat? Thanks…

What kind of LED did you get?

I run the exhaust through the lights. Keeps it cool all year. But the carbon filter is in the corner on the floor which takes up a spot for a plant. That’s why I wanna get the LED. It’s the Growers Choice 680 or 720. The 680 is supposed to put out the same lumens as a 1000 W HPS in full spectrum. I think that’s probably good for a 5 x 5 tent.

Don’t know what happened, but shit blew up overnight. Some of the phenotypes are a little skimpy but some of the other phenotypes have some nice chunky buds forming. Couple garden shots and some bud shots. Still early in flower.

2 Peacemaker clones for breeding. Also some new stuff going on. 3 Afghan from an old Sensi Seed pack. Can’t believe they popped. They’re 20 - 30 years old. Tai Chi f4…something I’ve been working on for 10 years. Throws a few nanners Late in flower, but the weed is amazing… Last, 4 Garlic Knots bx1. This is more a breeding project. I wanted to see the quality of the peacemaker, and it’s a frosty Kush on a medium frame with a creamy, lemon zest stank. Quality is off the charts, but these can definitely use an increase in yield. Hoping the Afghan will do exactly that. 2nd pic is one of the keeper Peacemakers.

@MG_Canna just finished reading the thread, very impressive grow, you certainly have the touch!

Thanks brother.:v: I also have seed of most of what I’ve grown here. Anything you see that interests you, msg me and I’ll hook ya up, if you’re in the US. It took me a few grows to learn the nutrient combo I use. My biggest problem- using a bloom booster. Shit would always cause some sort of lockout, the last few weeks of flower. So I stopped that shit. And although not technically organic, I started dosing with amino acids and vitamins. Made my grows better, but didn’t make me a better grower:laughing: Add 30 years of growing weed, although 20 were gorilla growing in the woods of NJ. But you know how it is. Each plant is a little different and it took me a long time to find a mix that all my plants do well on.

Lost track of days, but think it’s week 5. Really pleased with the Peacemaker. Some rock hard buds, light blue green, and frosty as fuck. Can’t wait to cross this with the 80’s Afghan.

What do you mean by better nugs? Denser? Ive read that the led will give better resin production. I haven’t heard about the terps. Could you explain a little about the flavor and tip nugs? Is the heat vaporizing the terps?

The only down side is yield?

Are you responding to my last post? Did I say better nugs? And I can’t explain the flavor because this is my first grow with these.

Sensi Seed’s landrace Afghan. One had a rough time getting started. Not surprising with 30 year old beans. Making another generation to preserve this cultivar and also crossing with Peacemaker. Both will be available in the free seed section, when finished.
