Thanks dude! I’m loving some of these plants. I think these are going to produce a pretty good amount of CBD for me to make extractions with. Things are going pretty much perfect with the new setup and nutrient formulas though. Hopefully it holds out to the end.
Love the look of that star shaped plant
I filled up 15 gallons more of nutrient solution yesterday, so that’s currently their weekly drink rate. I think they’ll have at most one more week of high feeding before they slow down. BaOx and Lebanese did not stretch much at all, but the BaOx / Syrian turned out some tall plants.
Also I’ve pollinated with Lebanese on all plants. Tomorrow I think I’ll be able to do the BaOx / Syrian pollination on different branches.
Is anyone interested in either Willy G Lebanese or BaOx / Syrian pollen? I think I might save a little for myself, but unless other people want it, I won’t collect a ton.
I definitely have some interest in a little Willy G pollen. I have two high THC plants that are just starting their flower cycle that might be great blended with some high CBD.
What kind of expressions of CBD:THC ratios would you anticipate from the BaOX x Syrian dads. Good Medicine f2 is a possibility on deck for me. Might be a nice mate for locking in more consistent CBD expressions in the Good Medicine line. Thoughts?
It’s hard to say, honestly. Syrian seems to be a pretty mixed cannabinoid strain, especially with the THCV expressions. With that being the case, I think the BaOx x Syrians could be anything with at least half being CBD… but also probably potential for THC, THCV and CBDV. I think Willy G is going to be more predictable for CBD, but BaOx / Syrian could do some really interesting things.
If still available count me in. Just let me know.
Following and loving this
Great looking group
I think I still owe you from last time, so I’ll make sure you’re covered with whatever pollen you want.
Ooh man I would love some! It would be perfect for some crosses.
Much appreciated
Just so we are clear, if anyone owes it is me.
Males
Here’s males today. First pictures are Lebanese, then you can see I spotted a pistil at the top of one of the males. Given that I found a hermie in the females, I killed it. I will only consider using pollen from pistillate males if I have experience enough with a strain to know that it does not produce hermaphrodites. Well, since I already know that’s not true for this one, it is probably the case the any males I find that show pistils will probably carry intersex traits into females.
Lebanese pollination is complete. I will probably collect pollen from the Lebanese for 1-2 more days, but I think I already have enough to send out. I am probably going to do a little pollination with the BaOx/Syrian, because I don’t have much time left to do it and the last male and my females look good so far.
I won’t promise that BaOx / Syrian pollen will be available, because if the male has some pistils, then I won’t distribute it or save any seeds I made with it. Too risky. But I hope that I get some clean plants from the BaOx / Syrians, because they have a delightfully pungent dank weed smell to them, and the resin is coming in quite well.
I had the macro lens out, so these are all closeups. Things are going pretty well still, and I think stretch is almost complete. I changed the base water again today, which was reading 1.6EC on the outlet. I think I need to do another change this week to trigger more runoff, so that the outlet solution reads lower than the input. It indicates to me there is a little buildup going on, which has started to become evident. Leaf tips are burning a bit, and the color is slightly off. Nothing too bad, but they need to flush out some excess.
This is the last week that I’ll be running the stage 2 nutrient solution I think. There wasn’t a lot of stretch from the BaOx or Lebanese, but quite a bit from the BaOx / Syrian. Those are much taller plants, and you can see the longer internodes in the first picture.
Triangle hemp BaOx are producing lovely canopies without any topping at all. The main stem is not strongly protruded from the lowers. Wonderful indoor plant that can fill out a lot of lateral space. Scrogging this thing would even be way overkill, given that a single topping could probably produce a nearly flat canopy. Looks to be a great yielder… I took several cuts off the one in the last 2 pictures. It’s looking like a champ.
Love it! Looking great in there, it will be cool to see how the profiles turn out for you on this batch
Thank you for these awesome updates @lefthandseeds
Love the canopies on those Triangle Hemp BaOx!! Beautiful side branching
Willys has run far enough into its course to give me what I need. I’m going to deconstruct it today. After that, I just have the BaOx / Syrian male left. He’s starting to drop pollen, and I will probably be starting collection in the next day or two. No pistils so far, knock on wood.
One of the BaOx / Syrian females hermied, so I carefully removed her from the flowering tent. Not having a great success rate with these, but I am hoping that I’m in the clear with the male and female that are left. No issues yet with the remaining male and female.
Here’s a few pics of the girl that hermied. Shame, because she’s a really nice plant otherwise. A little stretched for my taste, but otherwise, nice strong smell to the foliage and good resin filling in. But she’s got a date with a dumpster.
I didn’t know a plant could hermie that late into flower
How do you watch out for that? I feel like it would be really hard to see any pollen sacks in the buds.
I was already suspicious of it, because I had one that showed hermie much sooner. Where you want to look is at the base of the buds, especially starting with the ones on the main stem. Every couple days, I do inspections just in case and saw the balls coming in on two spots on the main stem, and a few places on side buds when I removed her from the tent the other day.
This one did hermie really late. Also, I spotted a nanner(!) coming in on one of the buds… and those usually come in much later. Now I’m really watching the one girl I have left with a careful eye…
Dang… My current crop isn’t too far ahead of this. I’ll have to hit them with the magnifying glass today…
Good luck with the lady you have left… Hopefully she stays a lady
Gotta watch for those nanner bananers. I had some pop out at 10 weeks this round. I cut them out and I haven’t seen any since.
Too bad the BOAX/Syrian is proving a little unstable. I know you were really stoked on these.
Yea it’s a real bummer! I’d hoped that with their wider Syrian selection and crossing to something stable like BaOx that I wouldn’t get any trouble.
I think anything too close to the landrace Syrians or Lebanese have potential to hermie though. I’m noticing that they need to be selected and grown indoors for a few generations before they stabilize.
