One of the Black Candyland x Sour Bubble males taken for pollen collection this morning. Just using the main stem since a little goes a long way. Used a mason jar with the cutting and tilted over the tray in the past but laying it down on parchment paper seems to keep the pollen more “contained” with less air disbursement. Put the cut in a Rockwool cube left over from dwc days. Leaves will turn up to the light and keep producing. Tap it one or twice a day, and collect pollen in the next week or so.
Pollen will be used on a cut from a stout female Black Candyland x Sour Bubble.
About 16 days post flip seeing. Pulled these out for some light maintenance and really gettin strong grape candy smells from of 2 of the fatso x gsog already. BC x SB really staying squat with huge leaves comparitavely. Looking like I’ll get tight dense nugs on that one, smell leaning toward Black Candyland.
I’m happy so far with the BC x SB in terms of structure anyway. All that popped were consistent in size and stature. Squat with short internodes, thick stems, sturdy. Hopefully good smoke. It’s early on and wish I had the space to run many more to see variations but it is what it is. Im most excited about the grape cross.
Day 23 post flip. First grow with this tent and like it but wish i had just a little more height for the gsog cross. Perfect for more compact plants. Pulled the ladies out for a defol, went more aggressive on the centers and left the first set or two of fans and a few lowers. Should have good air flow. Light is penetrating much better now. Running it at about 80% max. No more room to move it up without relocating the fan and filter outside but is an option. Stretch looks to be about done.
Black Candyland x Sour Bubble Day 51 post flip. Had to make room and this lady went to a closet. Don’t see this needing more than 60 days. Trics are shifting cloudy, about 1/2 are there. Smells leaning mostly like the BC but different. Not a huge plant but nice dense frosty bud.
Fatso x GSOG about 51 days post flip. Had to make room to move these around the tent. Buds starting to pack on and leaning. Probably get another net in the tent to help support. The smell is amazing sweet grape candy. All 3 are consistent.
Took down the Black Candyland x Sour Bubble about a week ago @ roughly 61 days. Leaves stayed dark and started fading black at the end. Nice fat main cola, thick strong branches. Smell leans toward the Black candyland on this one. Rich, sweet, earthy, and sort of creamy. Not a lot of pics of this one.
Took down the Fatso x Grape Stomper OG last night. The excitement of chop day comes with a touch of sadness. Going to miss the glistening fade from these beauties. At least until the next run. Have a few pretty small ones for making seed in the tent now a few weeks in, popping more this weekend, and will bring in a Sour grape mutant after a good spray/ipm.
The branches were thinner on these, couldn’t hold the buds up well, and ultimately had a lower yield than anticipated. I think I underwatered along the way and crammed too many plants in the tent but man we’re these beautiful and oh so smelly. Very much grape candy on all three of these. Under the scope a good mix of clear, milky and amber trics. Should be nice.
Stopped by the grow shop today picked up some Blueberry Pound Cake seeds. Popping feminized photos for next run with Master Kush, Tropicana Poison, and these.
They were out of the happy frog soil for a few days so I went with Roots Organic this time. Never used it before.
Been a while since posting. Sampling some this weekend.
Black Candyland x Sour Bubble smoke report:: 30 days cure, very nice ultra smooth, no coughing. Flavors and smell is very much black candyland leaning, sweet but not fruity, just a touch of earthiness with sour exhales. Tasty. Burns clean. Hit me in the face quickly then faded into my body over the next 1/2 hour or so.This is nice for relaxing at home, evening or night time smoke for me.
This cross, or at least this pheno, is what i had aimed for. Squat plant, thick sturdy branches, went 60 days could have potentially taken her sooner. F2’ing these at the moment.
Fatso x Grape stomper OG F2, anout 20 days cure Very smooth smoke. Sweet and grapey, pungent but not stinky, really feel this one on my tongue not sure how else to describe it. Like a really fuel flavored smoke but not fuel. Really like this one. Gets me talking, cerebral, and goofy, then relaxed. Burns clean.
Much lighter, a little limey, with yellows and some purples on the interior (I didnt smoke the hair, lol) currently crossing with Sour Grape.
Sour Grape still finishing up in the tent. Still too hot to set up the 4x4 in the garage so these are in 1/2 a spare closet. Humidity is very low with no way to significantly increase without the tent, but hangin in there.
2 Master Kush, super bushy, sturdy. 2 Chemdog OG x Casey Jones started a week or so after the kush, less bushy but larger in stature. Love the leaves on these. In #1 containers. Switched up the soil mix this time. 1/2 ff strawberry fields 1/2 Roots Original with about 15% added coarse perlite. Only been fed 1 time at this point 1/2 strength ff trio plus microbe brew about 2 weeks ago at uppotting. Will uppot in about a week or so.
Moved the Master Kush and Chemdog OG x Casey Jones into the 2x3. First trim, fed well, grabbed a couple cuts. One of the chem crosses was a highly suspected male and put outside to confirm… or not. Both chems struggling with something. Gave some calmag this feed, ph has been consistent going in not sure. Probably flip in a couple days but would like to see the chem cross in better shape. Feels like that one will rocket past the kush.
