Love how the mutant Sour Dubbs looks like a clover :four_leaf_clover: who knows maybe it will be ur lucky charm/ plant this run

Nope. Next year. I still have some from last year that I’m smoking

Was thinking the same thing lucky clover! If they both turn out to be female it probably won’t make the final cut. However, you just never know! We will watch it grow to at least the Summer Solstice though. I’m curious to see what it does.

It was in the 60’s today, and tonight cold air blew in hard, and now we’re forecast for two inches of snow and 20º for the low. This may be out last bad stuff. I didn’t have anything outside. I take plants out every day that’s nice but they come in at night. We should be a little more green here this year. I can’t believe @gramps place. That looks like summer. :+1:

Saw another hummingbird this morning. It doesn’t seem to care about the feeder. It was all up in my sweet peas and other flowers lol

So, Dads back on Sundays. He decided he wants to replace any old pieces of pvc on the trellises and make sure the netting is good. He is also planning out the bug enclosure. Guess he wants to do it bit by bit in advance so its easy and good to go come summer buds. You know I’m happy. I like when he’s here a lot. The man is 70 and I want to spend every minute I can with him at this stage of his life.

Some of the seedlings are already huge and spanning the pots. Pretty crazy as I germ in 4" pots. I see a lot of transplanting in my near future.

Trimmed the winter volunteer today as it was dry. Smoked a bit too. It’s nice. Very 50/50 hybrid high to it. I tend to get the same high off most 50/50s for some reason. I really like it though. Its a very, clear-headed and focused high, also nice for my aches and pains without being sleepy or overly tingly which I hate. Tastes a lot like the UFS, but the finish is Kush like in taste. Kinda chemical ish. Very sticky little buds. Ended up with 1 mason jar full… lol It was fun watching her. BTW… her branches were so strong that I couldn’t cut through them with the trimmers. The UFS mom was like this too, but I had super cropped her. This one had really strong branch genetics and I think from the heavy winds we get in winter even stronger. Trippy.

How did you add the kelp? Made a tea or mixed some in as a top dressing and watered in?

I use a product called Vital Kelp. It’s water soluble. Speaking of kelp, it’s been a week, time to hit them again with mammoth p

Ran the sprinkler on the cannabis patch for a good 2 hours yesterday. My man is coming by for the first rototill today and I’m gonna put down all of the amendments. In 2 or 3 weeks, we will need to till it again, once all the weeds sprout again. It will also need it once more right before the plants go in the ground as my evil bermuda grass will be grown in again by that point. Man I hate that shit. It only grows where I don’t want it. Pretty nice day so far. Somewhere in the high 60’s I think with an ocean breeze.

The trellises in the process of some new stronger pieces and some new net. Planted a bunch of wildflower seeds back here too. I see sprouts. Hoping for a little wildflower field back here in summer too! Looks so ugly and bare since I tore all the trees out.

For anyone who didn’t tune in to last years grow. These trellises were everything last year. Made my grow so much easier.

@Herbie Here’s the kelp I use. 100% water soluble. For foliars, teas or water in. Pricey but organic stuff lasts forever as a little goes a long way. I prefer this one for the versatility.

Got the top grass layer of the evil bermuda grass tilled. Raked up about half of it today. The man is having back pain lately and Im just admittedly out of shape, so easy goes it. The rest will get raked out this week and another deeper pass with the tiller. As soon as I rake it completely, I can throw down the amendments before the deeper till then heavy watering.

I really should start some of those transplants on the seedlings. At least 15 of them can be upped. Its kinda the perfect time of day for it, but all of the pots need to be washed and sanitized first and Im not sure I have anymore bending left in me today before my back breaks. Whenever I come on here and start talking about these things it usually motivates me and pushes me farther. Im a good kind sore from working out there right now. Even this post isnt really moving me much further today, I guess.

Tomorrow is another day and it is Cali and will be full of sunshine! I cant seem to stray far from the garden lately. Even if Im not working out there, Im hanging out watching birds, bees or strolling around looking at whatever flowers are coming up. Have I told you all lately how much I love Spring?

Oh yeah… Note to self… get more sluggo! Fucking slugs and snails need to die.

Well I lied, the fancy iced latte from my machine I just slurped down has kicked in. Going out to wash and sanitize the pots, so they are ready for transplants. I just realized that I had coffee at 6 pm. Good grief! I didn’t realize the time. Hope it doesn’t keep me up all night.

That was actually quick and painless. The pots are sanitized and ready to go. I realized that I had inventoried the 2 gallon pots that they will spend most of their veg life in, but had never checked on the smaller size. Turns out I need 25 and I had 28. Whew! All in good shape too! Honestly, I try to do only one pass at the grow store a year for cannabis supplies as any extra trips are a bitch on my wallet. I simply can’t go to any store that has to do with growing things, plants, cannabis etc… and just buy what I came for and leave. No. I’ll see something else that I absolutely must try or have. lol Step away from gardening and plant stores, Meesh.

Since we just tilled, there is an entire flock of sparrows out there right now, swooping down every minute or so to snatch and grab stuff… weed seeds, twigs, worms lol It was really cute as they were flying in and out in waves. I really need to take the bird seed out there and scatter it around for them.
I was thinking about how many more worms I’ve created today by tilling. Remember from science class? If you chop a worm in half, they grow a new head and voila… 2 worms! No wonder I have a jillion red wigglers out there. 3 years ago, I dumped a pound out there. Today, I estimate a few hundred thousand. No exaggeration. I find them everywhere and in everything. They even get into my potted plants that are on risers and I also find them in the front yard.

Anyway, as usual, thanks for being here with me and reading my novels. It’s the plants, they make me talk a lot! :green_heart:

Edit: Meant to mention the Sour Dubb with the clover leaves. I don’t think its a mutant as the newer leaves are normal. I think the seedling may have just taken a day too long when it shed the seed shell. Made the first set of true leaves wonky.

Hey, my first pair of hummingbirds showed up yesterday. I was surprised. They stayed while I whipped up a batch of sugar water! Still here today so they must be from last year. I love those guys! They’re really sociable.

Ive heard of people hanging bird feeders in their gardens to attract birds, which deters pests.
