Day 21 and I’ve started some bondage, bending her over to let the light penetrate her bush more effectively. She’ll be topped as soon as node 5 is more prominent and Im going to bend her around the pot in a circle. The Chocolate Diesel pollen from @AzSeaindooin420 has come in. I’ve sandwiched it between two desiccant packs and vacuum sealed it and put it into the fridge for when the time comes.
5th node is in, im just going to let it grow a few more days to let me have a clear cut. I’ve decided im going to top the side branches too since they are going to become mains. Im getting smoke from this if it kills me. Also pulled a nug of GLo out of cure for some smoke. Smells are getting better and better.
Honestly Im more disappointed than angry at my butterfingers. You can kind of see it in the last pic, top right branch. Hopefully It’ll respond like it was topped but I think I borked it pretty bad. Going to let everything get to 6 inches and then switch to 12/12. Doubt I’ll top anything again.
I think I can see quite a few nodes so vegging her for a while should get you nicely packed by flowering for sure with some lst.
Wishing you the best bro!
I got a pair of curved forceps to ‘play with’ last winter and was impressed with the results (I haven’t worked enough examples to fully develop a ‘procedure’ yet).
I just squeeze (crunch) the stalk where I want a bend and you are done with minimal damage. The stalk stiffens up in a couple days with minimal damage. This was with plants that had ‘stiffer than usual’ hollow stem stalks too. Smooth jaw needle-nose pliers should be good too.
What I found with the forceps was that the ratio of the long handle to
the short jaw gave very precise control.
Put in some bamboo stakes to keep some leaves out of developing nodes light. Also put in the netting I got from the acinfinity pack @ 6inches from current height.
I know I said I was going to leave it alone, but I realized if I topped and defoliated a bit I could even out an uneven canopy. Yes I added several weeks to my veg but I think the end results will be worth it by opening up bud sites and increasing the number of overall colas.
She’s already bounced back with new growth from all nodes by maybe 1/4 inch. With all this and she’s still this vigorous. Flower worries me in a good way.
Two days later and she’s already bouncing back. She’s clearly going to explode with growth once I switch to flower. Im so excited! Going to have to Start the STS treatment on the day of flip. I think Im going to try brushing it on like @LoveDaAutos did with his last STS experiment.
@Habitt I’m 100% positive that @LoveDaAutos starts applying the STS 7-10 days prior to starting the flowering cycle and brushes on the STS when reversing just a single branch.
Just measured her and her longest branch is right at 3.25 inches. If she keeps up at the pace she’s been going another week, week and a half and its flip time. Since that’s the case Im going to mix up a batch of STS either tomorrow or the next day and start brushing one of the branches. Im going to take that branch off as soon as/if pollen sacks form to maturity so as not to contaminate the entire area with pollen. Im thinking one of the small ones at what would be the tip if she weren’t tied down circled in orange. The branch circled in red will receive the TK pollen and the branch circled in blue will receive the CD pollen.
