I just opened a new bag of happy frog and it reeks of menthol. Anyone ever deal with this? Is it safe to use?

Definitely not normal, I’d return it if you bought it local. A quick google didn’t pop up any answers.
For the sake of discussion… was it wet or did it look like it was soaked at some point?
What’s the date on the bag? Stamped down the side somewhere.
The date is very recent. 5 21 24. And it’s dry. Ordered through Amazon

My building uses “Mint-X” bags to keep rodents away from trash. Maybe they were stored in there to keep pests away. I had two bags in the car recently to throw some car parts in…I had to open all the windows, and it was still bad.

Is devoid of menthol products lol.
But with Amazon who can say.
My local nursery has pallets of it
No menthol anywhere.

There is a local nursery but they keep it outside in the rain and sun.

Maybe some mint got ground in it
That have to be a lot of mint.
Return it, you can get a 2 cf bag for half of what
Amazon charges
I usually make a run and get 4 bags at a time
And use as needed.
