HaRdRoC’s HoUsE

Everything I’ve grown that’s purple has been light sensitive. Not sure what that is though

Well I went in to do a more thorough look at my plants to diagnose the problem and while inspecting, I noticed some pistils that looked to be pollinated, so I started looking harder to see if there were any nanners, and I found some on both God’s Grand Double Purple, so I picked the nanners off and kept finding more, and some very swollen and even double bracts ( I think they’re called?) so I popped one off and checked inside, yip more nanners…

The Blueberry x Northern Lights is totally unaffected, not even a brown hair to be seen.

There’s no light leaks, I made sure of that after my 5 Alive was fem turned out pure male.

This is the 3rd hermi I’ve ever had, with 2 of them being in this run.

No light leaks, roots look white as can be,
ph runs between 6.1 and 6.2 ec is .2 till 2 weeks before flip, then to an ec of .4 then just yesterday bumped up to .6
Not sure why they were getting a deficiency, and maybe the double transplant in on day over stressed them??

Anyway, they got the boot…

Guess it just made more room for a couple more DD x SBR…:smiling_face_with_three_hearts::smiling_face_with_three_hearts::drooling_face::drooling_face:

So I seem to be having quite the string of bad luck… had to tear down and toss a bunch of killer OG strains, last grow the Dosido 33 turned hermi in mid flower, only a few nanners that were picked off, finished off with no seeds on her or the GSC x Sour Deisel, guess that was actually good luck… then had to tear down again, and toss plants again, but kept the best looking one, which was a 5 Alive fem seed, which turned out to be a full out male, not a pistil on the plant…
This time end up with 2 out of 3 hermi…

Can’t believe I still have weed to smoke lol

Anyways, the silver lining is I threw down 2 more DD x SBR, I knew I made that CS for a reason…

Not to sound basic, have you looked into if your light timers may be throwing in a random light period that shouldn’t be there ?

Actually no I haven’t, that’s something I didn’t even think of. I will check on that tomorrow.

You’d think the Blueberry x Northern Lights would pop out some nanners too then, unless the God’s Grand Double Purple isn’t a very stable strain… they were freebies from an order…

Not really blaming the seeds, as I did stess them out with a double repot in the same day, and for one reason or another they were both having deficiencies, even though everything is dialed in from ph to humidity… the low ec is because they’re constantly getting fed, and am using salt based nutes. One other thing I just now realized I should have checked was a soil ph sample…
Could very well have been a salt build up, if they weren’t as heavy of a feeder as the BB x NL.

That could be are real possibility and might in fact have been the culprit and would explain the deficiencies.

The double repot wouldn’t do it in my experience and your pH is good well depending on what your run off measures at which you should check occasionally along side runoff EC, though your definitely low EC wise comparably saying that all nutrients are different at what they read plus whats already in your mix as even though Promix HP says they don’t my experience more of late is it does have a little in there as i tend not to have to feed or have to feed at a low level for the first couple weeks to avoid excess and then have to ramp it in a bit later comparably to say coco.

And those Devil Roses will be alot less temperamental to any light issues you may have going on.

I forget what it means but purple stems I believe a re some sign of stress or a deficiency if I remember correctly… looking at the chart, it could have been a potassium issue which could lead to other nutrient deficiencies… I’m also guessing the soil ph possibly, but I really don’t know what I’m talking about lol

I’m leaning to salt build up/soil ph being off.
They were a Purple strain, the leaf stems were dark purple since hatching

I honestly never even thought of checking my run off ph or ec in theses auto pots…because there is no run off, they’re bottom fed…and didn’t think of hand flushing them because of the low ec…
I think after this run with the BB x NL I’m gonna stick with the trusted method of regular pots, un less I see the BB x NL have issues, then I’ll take it off the auto pot and just hand feed.
Thanks for your help as always man :metal::metal::metal:

Not that i have run with autopots though consider that if your nutrient levels are off they will build up regardless as there is no way for them to alleviate themselves of that excess in a bottom wicking setup, not saying your in that situation with your low feed levels though i have read quite a few autopot users do a periodic top watering with them to lightly flush anything out and then continue on as normal.

Hey @lefthandseeds ever see this? My 1st time, these Grapefruit x Jungle Spice sure got lots of little tricks up their sleeves :laughing::laughing:

I took some clones of the God’s Grand Double Purple, both rooted, so I’m going to throw one in flower and hand water to see if it was stress related or if it’s just a bad batch of seeds.
I’m pretty sure it’s stress related, but to be sure, we’ll give her another go.
I also put one in my mom tent, just in case she pulls through, as I really wanted to have my dad to grow out something with color.
He just started growing 2 summers ago, 1st round was autos and they stunted on him.and last summer was 4 unknown clones, which turned out pretty decent bushes.
So this year was hoping to give him a nice outdoor strain, the BB x NL and one nice colorful one.
So fingers crossed :crossed_fingers:

I actually have seen that before. It’s a chimera

I’ve seen the coverings of those jiffy pellets restrict roots in the past and just suggest for the future to remove them when transplanting though just leave what you got going

Had to repot last light, when I was giving them their 1st feeding, I noticed the roots were coming out the bottom of the pots.
To my surprise the Sour Bubble x Big Kush’s roots were actually root bound and circling all the way around the bottom of the pot.
I put them in 1 gal fabric pots till they show sex.
Then I will transplant them into the 2 gal square pots. Gonna be a fun transplant from the fabric pots :roll_eyes: I will probably just make 4 cuts on the fabric pots to get them out. Ordered 2 more stes of square pots last night.
These ones for starting seeds

20 more of these to go with the 10 I already have, for sexing

And 20 of these 2 gals to finnish them off in

So here’s the repotted ladies and gents

The other 2 DD x SBR popped as well :grin:

When you count from flip, are your plants already showing sex?
I rarely let them go that long in veg
