Yeah I agree. I spent $80 on the 3x3 tent, $300 on the light, $120 for the carbon filter/fan and like $20 on the clip on fan. I thought I did pretty good
Not to mention the other costs to grow like good soil, amendments, genetics, a Ph meter…

Whatever you go with, it’ll quickly pay for itself on your first harvest, especially with a $200 budget. I’d personally save up a little more and get going like that or go bare bones and sell whatever comes from it and reinvest it on a better setup
They are cheap, and --like a Vivosun or other cheap tent-- you may want to get some RTV sealant and seal any pinholes, but these Zazzy tents will work, and they are cheap… I do k ow a couple people who use them… the biggest complaint is that --like any cheap tent-- you sort of need to use one hand to ensure the zipper is aligned as your other hand zips it up or you can zip up a part of the overlapping material and that jams the zipper but if you can deal with that minor annoyance then a cheap tent is totally acceptable… but you will want the best light possible so you can maximize your yield.
My first grows (back in 1990 ) were enclosed in panda film; I bought some cheap plastic panda film and stapled it to my roof and taped it to my walls to enclosed a corner of my room to make a “closet”.
Another time I enclosed the bottom of a loft-style bed and slept on top of it. …even more recently, until I bought a huge tent maybe 15 years ago, I enclosed a large 8x15 section of a garage this way… the panda film was super cheap… is something like this a possibility? It would save you a lot of money which would be better invested in a light source
Nah I need a tent or the whole thing won’t happen
Will you receive a tax return any time soon? A few more bucks would make a huge difference, 200 is a really low starting number and I wouldn’t want you to spent 10+weeks growing and flowering plants to only yield a zip or two
…unless you only smoke a zip or 2 every 3-4 months!
You can grow a QP with a 100w light. So it doesn’t have to be of huge scope, but bigger is better. Glad I have my 2x4, my 2x2 is too small.
2x2 is always too small and that’s why I did not recommend it.
I mean I can still play around in it and it has its uses but the 2x4 is the real machine.
Do these lights plug right into the wall? Or do I need an electrion?
I use a timer + surge protector.
We definitely “can” grow a qp+ with a 100W light, but I like to keep expectations a bit more realistic for someone who may not have yet dialed in their setup and chosen the best genetics for their grow
Yes you’re 100% right. I can grow a QP with 100w
I agree that 2x4 is a sweet spot. Should be similar in price if you have the space.
Here’s my gear
I bought these at $40 they go on sale down to 40 all the time. I have 2, one will get you started.

I like this tent, but switched to a 2 x 4 that is taller and the size fits my space better. Of course it’s no longer listed, but here’s the 3x3

This does a job. It probably needs replaced at this point and they are kind of expensive for no real reason

I’m in a hot and humid climate and dont climate control my house very well. Got doors and windows open a lot. So I needed one of these

I use these lights (I am low budget). They are cheap and effective.
I replied on your other thread with one choice.
Most people default to Amzone in their search but I found cheaper options on ebay and the company websites during Black Friday. Expect same or better on 4/20.
