Help me find a grow tent kit 200$

Tents not necessary unless you have to have one.
1 Apollo 3x2
1 Mars hydro 600 be less than 130ish.

By the way I have a tent but rarely use, I kept my citrus in them over winter lol

Would be on the lower end of what most people look for using watts/sqft as a metric if you’re trying to finish plants in the tent. It’ll work, but I’d look for something in the 250-300w range if you can.

I agree with NoCal, you will probably be fine during veg but will wish you had more light during flower.

I do not like 3x3 it’s awkward in every way. 2 plants seems like wasted space and 4 plants is crowded and sweaty in flower.

That said I grew in a 3x3 all year last year.

Have you looked on places like Facebook marketplace, craigslist?

This is a tough hobbie to start on a budget imo, cutting corners will definitely show in your work, not to mention things break, shut down, and stop working you always have to have a float just in case of emergencies,
You have 200$ to start? Get a tent, then save for a light, and you most definitely need an inline and scrubber, just my opinion. Good news is you belong to a great community now and I’m sure there’s tonnes of used equipment around.

I think my input has ben covered by other members but ill repeat some things.

Check out places like craigslist, fbmarketplace, offerup. I’ve randomly seen some crazy good deals from people just trying to get rid of stuff. Will have to give everything a good cleaning though.

Zipper light leaks are common, a roll of panda film or similar will help.

Some tents are pretty flimsy/wobbly. I generally like the ones with metal corner connectors over the plastic. Might not be as big of a issue with led, but I’m a HID guy.

If you or someone you know is handy and resourceful, you can always build a box on the low.

I’ve got a VIVOSUN tent I bought in December that isn’t as bad as all the reviews I’ve heard regarding pinholes. There is one section of stitching just above the zipper at the bottom that’s pretty riddled with holes but it was a straight line & piece of tape sealed it. Just an FYI they may have improved or maybe I got lucky or you got unlucky :man_shrugging:

It’s just a lower quality in general is all im trying to say. It’s been said many times by many vivosun tent owners that the stitching and pinhole leaks is the biggest problem. I would like to think I got unlucky but I have a 4x8, 5x5, 4x4, and a 2x2x3 all by vivosun (of the cheap brands I believe they are the best but ironically they are one of the few brands that sell the specific height i need for my basement otherwise id went with another brand) and they all have pinhole leaks from the zipper and weak corner stitching. I mean to each is own but if you buy a cheap tent you get a cheap tent. Best tent quality wise are for sure ac infinity or gorilla grow tents but they cost more for that reason. As the saying goes buy nice or pay twice

I bought the above listed tent and light. Happy with my decisions after watching every product review on youtube. Just need to find a cheap inline fan next, prolly used or eBay no big deal. I would close this thread but ill bet there’s other people growing on a budget and there’s a lot of good info here.

i used to say that all the time but wood is expensive as hell now. i suppose you could build one out of scrap wood and pallets but it would be heavy as hell. with a little imagination and some skills you can build anything you need. i threw this together until i could get some girls out to the farm. for a few more dollars in aluminum foil and duct tape you could make one as big as you need it. mine worked great for what i used it for. still got one in there now waiting to ride out to the farm today.

You can spend a TON
gimmicks abound.

Once you Understand the Inverse Square rule
In regards to light it’s really pointless to have
A tent, or rather Not required.

Tents keep heat, many reasons I barely use them.
But it’s fine if you do use one.
If your in legal land other than not stinking
Your neighbors out by having a scrubber
I see no real reason to use them really.

No tent, no reflective walls, no flat white walls
Again the inverse square made all that Mute
You can spend a grand on a tent lol
Or 30 bucks depending on size.
All big grows don’t any reflective I have seen
But it’s your call, decent size closet works fine
Or the middle of a room
Good luck either way

It’s optional i just say.

Nice @Sintax looks great

Tent should be here today. I’m super excited. Picking up trays and risers on the way home from dentist. Got a bunch of seeds germinating

New tent. Extremely happy with my zazzy tent and viparspectra xs1500 pro. Both were budget, total was 168$. Tent is just as solid as any other premium tent I’ve seen. Not a single complaint.
