I have one in the Living room and I cranked it up definitely threw some out it was a Auto to but they definitely produce some nuggets that’s for sure
You can salvage some of it bud, just throw the rest IMO. I had mold on a couple colas in my last harvest and went over every bud under a magnifier light/lamp. It was between the buds, not on the surface. If you RH is low outside the tent than its not just more fans but rather air exchange. You want to be sucking in more of that outside low RH air and exhausting the high RH air in the tent. Exchanging that air faster is more important than just having fans in there circulating high RH air. Just my 2 cents worth.
Hmm not sure. My last auto was weird with smell too. Sometimes hardly smelled, then super smelly for a day, really amped up the smell when it was ready and first few days of drying, but now just boring ass hay smell. Just wondering if there’s a smell to look out for. I don’t think I’ve ever smelled moldy bread before even too squeemish to touch the bag.
!!The intake out take the way I have it set up is negative pressure and I have the ac also in the living room so it’s sucking up the cool low rh air …that’s what I’m thinking bigger fan
Rh out 60 rh in 45
Deff leads me to a circulation problem
I have the dehumidifier in the room adjacent to where my tents are (basically the drying room now). The fans in the tent room vent to outside, causing negative pressure to pull in air from the drying room. That dehumidifier has been running non-stop (drains to a sump pump pit) for weeks and lowest my RH has gotten is 55% That 55% rh air is pulled into the tent room though… Even today, this humidity is killer for the NE
No it still smells like pot
Yeah it’s been brutal out !!
All my readings in tent r good till night never exceeding 60 if rarely getting that high
Night is when humidifier is needed
You can get negative pressure pretty easy if you don’t have enough venting in the bottom open. A common problem is not having enough air coming in due to lack of open vents. You can suck the walls of a 5x5 tent in with a 4" fan if you don’t open enough intake. That may not be the case but if your outside RH is 45% and you are exchanging the volume of air fast enough you should be good.
If those are your numbers, for sure! But make sure youget oscillating fans and dont wind burn em either then… Such a balance we seek… That RH is low enough mold shouldnt be an issue (the purple bud I posted last night you’re making me wanna chop up now though). But low air circulation, and dense buds, I could see it forming inside the buds as you’re experiencing…
ive always wondered how people deal with keeping light out of the tent and keep those vents at the bottom open. Best solution ive came up with is keeping the tent in a dark room.
No I have. Negative pressure for sure I have curtain rods holding the sides of my wall so they don’t suck in to maximize space lol
A little bit is ok (people will violently disagree) but a little is ok.
Just chop the rest of the little buds off no more present from the naked eye it is weird how it only target those two big nuggets
ive got the covers on my vents with the sides and tops of the covers taped to seal it shut but i left the bottoms open to vent a bit of air.
I don’t doubt it bud, but do you have enough air flow coming in? If the bottom is not open enough you will get negative pressure easily. You could also try hooking up an intake fan to push more low RH air in and than turn up your exhaust fan to increase the air exchange.
Some dude claimed this… in 2011 lol (on riu)
You can save moldy bud and make it perfectly safe to smoke/consume/vaporize.
It doesnt matter if the bud is fresh or dried, water curing washes away every trace of mold.
Ive done this a number of times and it works perfectly. Next time I do it, I will take pictures.
Place the moldy bud in a jar and fill with regular tap water until the bud is submerged. You will have to rig some kind of method to keep the bud completely submerged because some of it will want to rise above the surface. SImply putting a lid on it will not work. I usually use a weighted plate to hold it down.
Keep in a cool dark place for 24 hours then take it out and you will see dirty murky water. Pour it all off, then refill with fresh water and stash again for another 24 hours.
I was told to do this every day for 2 weeks, but in my experience the bud is completely clean in less time.
Every day, when you change the water, notice how dirty it is, when you have had several days of pouring off crystal clear water, you are done. Every trace of mold will be gone.
Drain the bud and dry as usual.
The upside is you will have the smoothest, cleanest smoke you have ever had, with all the original potency intact. In fact, some people say it increases that potency, because it takes out plant material but leaves the THC, thus making the thc more concentrated.
The downside is your lovely bud will now look like schwag, but who cares if your using it yourself, you know its not crap!
Water curing will improve any bud, even perfectly good bud, as it takes out a lot of the bad tasting plant material.
I made a little periscope box to make it a little better but it’s not perfect.
Some people go hardcore to keep out every little bit which is cool but I’m not worried about a little.
That is what I mean, the lower vent in the back is pretty much sealed looking at the pic, if you took the cover off it it would pull in way more air and it would be much harder to get negative pressure.
Maybe I’m spoiled because I have too much weed but I wouldn’t bother.
If you’re desperate you could make a big batch of butter but I’d just throw it away.
It’s quite gross.
I once bought hash that was mouldy a long time ago and I thought “ok fine no more business for you from this guy.”
I kind of understand what you’re saying …my fan is hooked up so it draws air from the outside and pushes air out of tent …so I want some of the access ports open of the back where the mesh part is and still be able to maintain negative pressure is what your trying to say ?
