Herb's herb chronicles

OG Seeds - I bought several strains during the server upgrade and soaked them for 24 hrs; I will chronicle their progress here. I soaked:

  1. Big Chem x La con
  2. TK x OG 2
  3. 13 Bubbas
  4. Green Goblin
  5. Uncle Bud
  6. Maui Sunshine from @Sebring

I will log the 4 plants, from @zephyr, currently in my previous MS strain request, over here now. Keep the OG-ers all in one thread.

To be continued…

And, I get to break in my incubation chamber.

All six seeds popped in 24 hours. My last seed pop, three of seven didn’t survive, I assume the soil was too hot. This round I am trying something different. I planted the germinated seed, tail down in a couple tablespoons of damp peat moss. I also added some extra perlite to the top couple inches of the soil. I am starting them in larger containers so they won’t need to be stressed by transplanting.

Another side note, I went to purchase Royal Gold soil and for the first time I read it doesn’t meet organic standards in California, so I am now using Happy Frog.

They are now in my incubation chamber and I am excited to see how it’s going to work.

@zephyr, They withstood some serious unintentional abuse, hot nutes, over-watered, root bound and mites and they have survived and are now flourishing.

Hot nutes, over watered (attempted to flush)

After being transplanted

Today, much healthier

those are looking great, and it seems like they’re responding really well to the training.

Yes they are, now that they’re no longer stressed out, they are growing fast. The Lebanese strains look hearty, too. Probably going to flip them in a week or so.

Due to a need for some serious LIFTA in my ongoing grows, I am attempting yet another project. I have an unused shower stall that’ll make a perfect auto-flower chamber. So I dropped 2 - ILGM Gorilla Glue (auto) and 2 - Seedman Sweet Mix(auto). I may keep this as a perpetual auto grow area and start a few more seeds, in a month, and a month after that… I am learning so much from reading your threads, it’s exciting. Thank you all!

P.S. My anxiety won’t allow me to sit still so I moved a couple plants from my veg area into the shower and took a pic. I took a couple 2x4’s in opposite corners and a cross piece to hang the light. No damage to the ceramic tiles and lots of room…

Now I’m going to smoke a big bowl of Blue Dream and relax.

I realize my grows are tiny in comparison, but I get excited when harvest time comes. I can not imagine the excitement that you true growers must feel watching your gardens grow and anticipating harvest. I envy and respect y’all…

I threw a couple clones outside, Blue Dream and Gorilla Glue, in my wife’s old raised vegetable bed. They’re doing fairly well.

And our trusty guard snake, Luther

Looking great @herb4ever if Iv seen that snake I’d jump like a mother fucker for sure ! What is it? At first glance looks like a water moccasin!

Northeastern Water snake, mostly harmless, unless you’re a frog or rodent. They can be aggressive if cornered and their venom contains an anticoagulant but he’s docile. I live next to a creek, so, to me, it’s a sign of a healthy eco-system. There are at least two I’ve seen, but Luther staked his claim. Isn’t he cute, he thinks he’s hiding. OH, yeah, and my wife hates him! lol

I find these eastern garter snakes outside.

Yes, there’s a nest of them down the creek further, sneak up on them on a sunny day and they scramble in all directions, startles the hell out of me, every time, even though I know they’re there.

Update: The seeds sent to me by @zephyr are kicking ass, almost ready to flip them.

The fan leaves on this one are huge

They all are strong and healthy

Here is an updated photo of the “server seeds”, unfortunately the 13-bubba suffered a fatal mishap and is no longer with us.

Damn, I love this hobby and this OG community! While I know I’ll never achieve the grows that y’all do, and I envy that; I am learning, having fun doing it, AND expect many nice harvests when all is said and done. Being retired, I want more freedom to be able to travel. While my trusted friends never complain about babysitting while I’m gone, I can automate and just have them watch the reservoir(s)

UPDATE: I ordered Blumats because this system was too inconsistent, some plants were flooded while others remained thirsty. I will reuse the pump to circulate and aerate the Blumat reservoir.

Today I took all my flowering 16oz solo cups (my old SOG) and moved them into my shower stall and put them on a timer to finish them off… the Block-Berries are getting milky.

Then, I put eight 1-gal pots in my flower tent. I’ve had mite problems until I tried Mite Massacre, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N541P34/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 as a precaution, I sprayed them just prior to moving them. Then set up a new 30-day drip pump. It is currently set for 70 seconds twice a day. I am also switching my nutes to MegaCrop (@GreenleafNutrients) . I started fairly weak, (@zephyr) 20 grams in 5 gallons and will increase to recommended dosage as the girls adapt to their new diet.

The pump, $42 on Amazon and after I ordered it, I read the thread on Blumat stakes. I may have gone that route…

The drip stake…

Top view, I attempted to train them, I have my SCROG materials ready and will build it soon.

The strains…

looks like they’re doing great with the new nutrient regiment. It’s very cool to see how vigorous and healthy the plants are with these hydro nutrients. you really got this indoor setup dialed in.
