Absloutely For sure
Amazon clip on lights. Bought 1 full spectrum then my wife bought the cute Lil Amazon grow tray that came with a blurple light…that’s how we learned about blurple. Bought a true red/blue light 1 more full spectrum and 2 red/blue/full for a total of 6 clip on lights…everybody says (could bought a “good” light for that price) purchased them over a few months at discounted prices (wife is a Amazon shopaholic)…so we got em for a steal persay…she also collects mirrors so I had a few spares I could use until I upgrade to a tent… Muddy Waters is his name, brindle shepherd/collie mix.
10 yr outdoor grower…first time indoors, first time on OG.COM
Working on it currently
Right on! You’ll love it here!
welcome this is the best place to be do you like auto flowers or photo plants
Haven’t gotten confident enough to purchase seeds…still just growing bag seeds
That’s a dam fine name for a dog! Does he like champagne and reefer?
Welcome to the forums and good luck with your grow.
Are you flowering in that area or transplanting outside?
Either way, you’re in good hands here and I look forward to seeing it progress!
Oooh, I see a kitty cat? (Doggie?) Hello friend and Welcome to OG @MerryWanna0303 !
Little Bit says Howdy Now where did I put my chair…
Looking forward to seeing your progress! God bless you
Welcome and good luck.
I would advise against those lights but let’s see how it turns, hope for the best.
Have you tried to check ppfd?
welcome and enjoy this really great place
Nice way to start man! I also predict a future where you’ve got the “full setup” with a shiny new tent/grow room & LED bar-lights
Happy to have you here!
I hope these are in the right order (can’t tell on my phone
Found this container of seeds from highschool (2008-10)
Started an indoor grow as a soil project.
1pt miracle grow spahgnum moss
1pt miracle grow seed starter
1pt compost/local soil
1pt hand shredded coconut husk
Haven’t checked Ph on water yet, just my well water.
Nutrient mix: boiled egg water, then boil banana peels, steep black tea and black coffee. Strain and cool for 6 days.
Nutrient water 1 week, well water next week, alternate. Trim only on well water day. Trim first water second.Check weight dry, Water from bottom and check weight again.
Started a bag seed with 1 full spectrum light. November 2022
Wife bought the cute Lil greenhouse tray from Amazon that came with a blurple light…that’s how we learned about blurple.
Bought a true red/blue light a week later
Plant started growing we got a second full spectrum light.
Learned about mid range lights so we got 2 red/blue/full
Learned I was watering too frequently and developed fungal gnats. Treated with cinnamon and DE and reduced watering to every 7 days. Gnats gone.
Transplant went terrible. Some @$$#Ole on reddit told me to dip my roots in hydrogen peroxide to kill off any bad critters/bacteria…1 plant survived. This one 110% fell over and came back to life (sorry no pics) in less than 48 hrs.
Got too big for bathroom counter setup so I moved it to our spare bedroom (junk/storage room) where I made this cozy Lil set up with all her extra mirrors. I’m recently aware mirror’s may cause hot spots and tip burn but so far no issues yet.
Messed around with phototone app, it’s definitely dark enough when it has to be and could always be brighter!
Also aware that a tent would do a lot better containing usable light and temp and humidity and keep down dog fur. A better light is also in the works
Thinking about the AC INFINITY set up 3x3
Ran out of lunch break…can I come back to this post later and finish this train of thought…or do I have to make a new one every time?
Thanks for the help

Hey there @MerryWanna0303 welcome to OG , you can come back and post down below unlimited or tap the little pencil down below on your original post and you can edit it as well.
Also AC infinity makes some great products , and may in fact be the first complete setups that look decent.
Welcome to the site!
I had a question about this; what strength peroxide did you dip the root ball in? Peroxide is very much a “dose makes the poison” situation.
The stuff you buy at the drugstore is ~0.5% peroxide, but I’ve worked with 3% (strong enough to burn little white spots on exposed skin) and 30% (must be stored refrigerated and very reactive), and I know from a chemist I follow on social media that they used to handle the 70% stuff with a chainmail glove in part to protect you and in part just to make you think about what you are doing with it.
I’ve never dipped the root ball in peroxide but I’ve heard of people diluting peroxide and using it in seed soaks to clean anything unwanted off the seed casing.
Either way it looks like you’ve already learned a lot! Organic growing is a challenge and it’s really more of a marathon than a sprint, the journey of building resilient strong ecology in your soil is a long one. I mention this mostly because of the coffee and eggs and banana peels, it sounds like something you’re trying to do.
I have no particular preference for salts vs organics and I do both in different situations but they require different approaches.
AC infinity and vivosun look like great set ups but unfortunately I do not have internet/wifi capabilities…can I still use these systems? I know I won’t have remote access to anything but I don’t really need it either.
Second option
Old school tent with old school lights that have to manually operated or have timer features
I would personally just use an old school outlet timer to run the lights, which should be $5-8 and purchaseable from any hardware store. Just make sure you’re not drawing too much from one outlet or one timer.
If you can afford to or want to spend the money on a prefab tent to house everything that’s a fine choice.
If you need to keep things a little less expensive you can DIY stretching any kind of reflective material over a frame that covers the area you want to grow in made of PVC, metal, or even wood. The material can be white or metallic, a common material would be the plastic film used for light deprivation setups, which is pretty thick and white on one side, black on the other, sometimes called “panda” film for that reason. Be careful that you’re able to allow airflow when needed and it’s not allowing light in when you don’t want it.
That’s a decent amount of work and it can be hard to manage the light and airflow, so a tent might be the best option. I’ve just seen people set their grow rooms up that way so I thought I’d mention it. I personally have a 4x8 gorilla lite line tent in an outdoor greenhouse with a mechanical outlet timer which has been fine for us.
We are limited by the summer heat and some of the light leaks that have developed over the years (didn’t seem like the tent was terribly made, it just has gotten some damage from hanging and moving lights and supports and stuff), but the tent itself has still been pretty useful.
Welcome to OG! Folks on this site have extensive knowledge on our favorite plant. Fantastic community!
With the AC infinity units you dont have to have internet/wifi to use them. You wont be able to control or monitor your grow remotely if you are away but the timer temp and humidity setting controls (to kick the fan on/off) will work as long as you have power and the fan/lights hooked up. If you have bluetooth capability on your phone you can download an app to make settings and check history when you are at home/in proximity of the tent.
I like most started indoor growing one piece at a time too. Best of luck!
