5 days and she doubled in size, if not a tad more. :sunglasses: :vulcan_salute:
Hope the MM and TK snap out of it.

Seems like it darkened her up a bit
Probably gonna hold off on any more foliar’s. Hopefully she takes off here real soon.

TK is doing good tho

Gonna be a big mess later

IME the slow to root ones need to be doing well and wanting regular water for this transfer to work well.

So the TK and LCH #11 both have roots sticking out the bottom of the octo’s.
I can’t see anything on the MaMilk. She’s arguably the most vigorous of the bunch so I’m at a bit of a loss at the moment. I see new growth coming in but it’s been real slow and still not lookin too hot.

I think I’m just going to flip to flower real soon here and hope it kicks her out of it like it usually does the TK when she’s struggling to get a foot hold :man_shrugging: I don’t wanna wait too long and have the TK and LCH growing above the lights.

In my experience with SIP systems, they grow a lot during flower and that’s where I see a lot of growth.

Chem91 is the only one I had any issues trying it with. I was under the impression it and the TK were/can be difficult to root. Not sure on the MaMilk some I have had have been easy…some not so much.

Yeah TK usually kinda struggles to root in veg. She’s the hardest plant to grow I’ve come across so far. She takes off in flower though. Definitely appreciates having a dry top too. I honestly expected her to be the one struggling here, not the MaMilk

4 of the Back Country Purple have tails
See if they make it out of their shells soon

Got 3 of those Port Wine Cheese x Koffee planted in hormex plugs…

One of the TK BX1 uppotted. Damn root riot plugs falling apart. idk wtf is going on with those this time but they’ve not been good. Hormex plugs much better.

I read something about fake root riots existing… I know a batch I got awhile ago fell apart a lot more than the current bag of them I have. I only use them for rooting cuts though so it never really affected me.

That is a long contended issue! Every report I have read about those root riot plugs, from more professional growers, says they are crap. I like rockwool, or coco, for rooting… they never let me down.

Do you charge your coco for rooting?

Sure? Not by any “charge your coco” rulebook or anything, but I do mix up a 300PPM nutrient solution and, I hydrate the dehydrated coco blocks with low ppm nutrients. I buy the 5KG compressed coco blocks, so they need to be hydrated before use. Once the coco is hydrated, and put into pots, I like to pour more 300ppm nutes through it until the brown runoff subsides  Just a personal thing, but --as I have used coco since the late 90’s-- IMO, plants seem happier in coco once the brown leachate has been removed.

I’ll have to give it a try. Currently use vermiculite for rooting. Most easily accessible product around I’ve found

Nice! I think you’ll like it, it really works well for rooting cuttings. I also use rockwool, I like it’s sterility and virtual cleanliness, but cuts definitely root a little quicker in coco… when I place the rockwool cubes on top of a bed of coco, it causes the rockwool cuts to root quicker too!

I’ve used most mediums. I gravitate to stuff that I can pick up easily anywhere I go. Rock wool was always a trip to the grow store.

Do you ever water the top of the octopot or one the roots touch the solution its completely bottom watered

I don’t but I’m not buying coco bricks either. For the last couple years I’ve been buying bags of Mother Earth Coco, usually the 70/30 if I can get it but I’ll get the pure stuff if I have to. Then have a big bag of perlite to get it up around 50/50. Then just feed veg nutes like normal. Not had an issue with this stuff at all.

Not supposed to at all once the plant is in there. When you put it in you wanna run a couple liters or a gallon or so straight through the center of the octopot. This way the plant has a wet tunnel to grow down straight to the reservoir. If you top water after that, you’ll just inhibit the plant from growing to the reservoir. Best you can do is foliar it if it’s struggling…

Speaking of, I went ahead and flipped to flower time this morning
