Hop on over to EBF's Lily Pad - emeraldbullfrog's grow log šŸø

Man I just caught up. I could see myself headed this direction so I moved all my clones to a closet with a 100w over them and started flowering in my tent. I donā€™t think Mrs. Gadarien is going to let that stand too much longer than it takes to flower this run out. Iā€™ll probably be looking for cup holders too!

Do you need another tent, or just space to put one up?

Haha thanks Gad! At the very least, Iā€™m glad that I could be a warning sign for others

ā€œDANGER: OBSESSION AHEAD!ā€

Trust, @Gadarien if I had a closet space I could use for the clone shelf I would take it in a heartbeat!

It isnā€™t as crowded now, but itā€™s still packed much too full. Actually decided to cull a few plants - big ones - just to make more space, and itā€™s STILL wall-to-wall after taking them out.

Hereā€™s a full tent pic from last week:

Think Iā€™m learning my lesson on how limited the space is in a 2x4 Tuba Fort. Whatā€™s that Hunter Thompson quote about the edge?

The Edgeā€¦ There is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.
ā€”Hunter S. Thompson

The problem with a tent is that it has walls, so when my plants reach the edge they canā€™t go over  Which means Iā€™m always able to talk myself into ā€œmaking room for just one more.ā€

Flower tent has been acquired :+1:

I already told my wife Iā€™m putting up another tent. She was not thrilled, but it made her happy that Iā€™ve promised to clean out the garage. Overall the convo went better than I expected.

Next is to clear the space for it.

Then the real fun begins!

Awesome! My current place has no available square footage for another tent. I keep saying Iā€™m gonna buy a place but Everytime I think about it the prices blow my mind.

@Papalag Iā€™m slow on the upload, here are some pics of the Fruity Pebbles grown out from @JohnnyPotseed

Last week:

Last month I tested out my phoneā€™s ā€œmeasureā€ app for the first time. On Jul 31 my phone measured Fruity Pebbles at 25ā€ from the top of the solo cup.

L-to-R cups: Fruity Pebbles, Grape Pupil, Vortex (all from JP)

Also have a rooted clone of the FP, and a few more snips in water. For now I am a ā€œveg and clone factoryā€ haha

Thank you, my man! Means a lot coming from you :green_heart: :v:

If not for you Paps, I probably would not have tried to learn propagation. Least not for awhile yet haha

Pictured somewhere in here: several cupsā€™ worth of snips of Cayo Hueso and Lemon G. Theyā€™re hidden somewhere behind the Alien OG and all the rest haha

Lemon G rooted clones in the mix (front row both, and second row right)

Thanks for stopping by @BasementGardens! I appreciate the kind words

The measure app seems pretty good, I canā€™t believe it is able to figure out the distance and angles just from the phone camera. Gonna try with a few more of my plants later. It seems really accurate but I havenā€™t tried using a tape measure to double check yet.

Honestly, I still canā€™t believe how lucky I am to have most of these genetics. Itā€™s all thanks to the amazing OG community. @Papalag in particular has taught me a lesson in trust & generosity. The least I can do right now is to keep some of these going and pass them along when I can!

Finally caught up on what you have going on lily pad, the frog theme is sick. Frogs are cool as hell i love chasing them around ponds trying to catch em.
I got a note pad and wrote down the things that really caught my eye so here we go.

The northern lights pic was epic. I bet that is unreal to see in person.
That deficiency link you posted is also pretty good to have, i seen a lot of symptoms i am running into on there.
The quote about the edge is also really cool and interesting. Iā€™ll remember that one forever cause i can definitely relate.
The wife not being thrilled about another tent! You too!? Ah man join the club lol mines hates it cause i spend a lot of time taking care of chores.
Dude how the heck did you get plants that tall in a solo cup?? That is wild, i never tried it but i bet i would have trouble doing that. I usually have roots spun into a really solid circle after a few weeks

It is Wednesday again my fellow OGers

Finally getting my energy back after being sick for a bit. My first time with COVID. No fun. Feeling grateful that here in our home we are all well on our way to recovering - and thankfully no more aches or respiratory issues.

Thereā€™s something special Iā€™ve been meaning to post here. Artwork that my wife made for me. I canā€™t believe how talented she is. Just one day sheā€™s at her tablet and asks ā€œwhat would you like me to draw?ā€ so I said ā€œA bull frog, like a frog with bullā€™s horns.ā€ So she drew this for me.

Gonna toot my own (familyā€™s) horn here but holy crap you guys my wife is amazing! This is incredible to me. I swear Iā€™m missing part of the brain that lets people do this. She always puts a lot of work into her art and Iā€™m so proud of her.

She also made a few alternate background colors. I canā€™t decide which one I like the best.

So I am probably going to change my profile pic soon  It will be one of these, and I hope the frog will still make me recognizable :frog:

Also! My wife was able to create a digital sticker version of the frog but I havenā€™t figured out how to use it outside of text messages. I am trying to make real stickers out of it that I can send along with trades. Gonna make some emeraldbullfrog slaps to spread around

Glad to hear you are on the road to 100%!

Wow that bullfrog art is sick! I heard of a website called fiver where a bunch of graphic designers are waiting to score there next $25 so i might swing by there when i get time to hopefully get my custom nonexistent profile pic created!

I created a feedback thread for doing trades. Got a few things going out this week so figured it would be best to create the feedback page ahead of time. Iā€™ll link this in my profile so that itā€™s easy to find.

If I do any trading with you the feedback would be greatly appreciated :v:
Helps to build mutual trust, foster a sense of community, and also helps me to understand if there are things I can do better.

Thanks dude!

And thanks dude! If you can get some custom artwork done for a profile pic that would be sweet. I bet there are some incredibly talented people out there who are able to offer something great at an affordable price. (Plus this would be made by a real person! Generative AI is cool as a tool IMO, but I love seeing artists being supported even more than I love seeing AI train models off of their work.)

If my wife is ever taking requests Iā€™ll see if I can open it up to OG  She recently did new artwork for her hobbyist community & their website

Id love to do a trade with you and give some feedback if your down!

Honestly ill be the one to say it. I hate AI art, something about it just rubs me the wrong way.

Letā€™s do it! Iā€™ll send you a DM here shortly :+1:

Itā€™s okay to say it, and I have seen several pieces that could make me agree. Seen a few that are kinda neat. But even the best still images always have this ā€œlookā€ to them, itā€™s difficult to explain.

Over this past weekend I watched a few YouTube videos specifically about AI. Theyā€™re fun, generally thoughtful video essays with a lot of humor involved. One of them in particular even gets kind of thought provoking near the end. I can link them in a moment.

AI has its best use case IMO as a tool that the artist then further manipulates the output in order to suit their workā€™s needs. Thatā€™s really the best way Iā€™ve seen for the output to make sense to most people. Unfortunately that is not how itā€™s being pitched to most people.

This music video is my favorite use of AI tools to make visual art. The artist had to put in a ton of hard work to make everything stitch together & flow, itā€™s almost unfair to label this as ā€œAI artā€ because of how much manual work was needed to create this output. But holy crap I donā€™t know how something like this would even be possible without the help of AI tools. And I am happy this video exists it is hypnotizing every time I watch
