Howā€™re the plants doing EBF? Thought I had been ignoring your thread as Iā€™ve been known to do . Anyway look forward to an update!

Yeah jeez  I didnā€™t realize it had been so long since an update.

Some days I feel like the picture of the kid putting a stick through his bikeā€™s front tire spokes while heā€™s riding it

Veg tent is FULL right now. Hereā€™s what it looked like when I checked it after work this evening:

Itā€™s packed to the brim!

Unfortunately I let some of them dry out probably the most I ever have:

Donā€™t think the pot has ever gotten this way. Gotta fix it after dinner, everything should still recover :crossed_fingers: and frankly I am okay with it if this stress causes some stunted growth on the largest plants

Got some good stuff too. Continuing to practice working with clones. Hereā€™s the clone tray today:

Got a fresh one in recently - Mango Hashplant from @JustANobody

The Mango HP has started getting this discoloration on top. Been in the plug for a few days now, no roots yet. These clones are big and healthy so I hope itā€™ll be quicker than usual for me

Alien OG

White Rhino

Death Coast - Eagerly waiting for roots on this one. Iā€™ve had the plant since June and have not been able to get any snips to root in water. This is my first try in plugs. So far no sign, and itā€™s been nearly two weeks. I think I left the plugs too wet. This strain prefers drier soil so maybe it prefers drier conditions to take root.

Got my garage space half cleared out to make room for the flower tent. Allā€™s I need to do now is play a big game of Tetris and I should be able to make things fit.

Thanks for stopping by the lily pad :v:

Donā€™t worry itā€™s not uncommon at least for me. For snips to take 2-2.5 weeks to show roots. Iā€™ve had more difficult strains take 3-4.

My fellow Sunbro! YES!

ā€¦though I hate to tell you, in Elden Ring i like to play as a dirty dishonorable invader. :crossed_swords: :speak_no_evil:

Itā€™s looking like 3+ weeks for those Death Coast snips. The mother plant is ready for a trim so I may try rooting some more at the same time. Just need one to take before I can stop worrying about keeping the strain going, you know?

Good news - Mango Hashplant is showing roots after only 8 days! @JustANobody

This is far & away the fastest I have ever had a plant take root. And this was minimal effort on my part. No rooting powder, no hormones, nothing special added at all.

Only thing I did was use a pair of clean shears (wiped with 70% ISO) and trimmed the stem shorter by a few nodes, making sure to cut as close to a node as I could. Then it went straight into a plug.

Gonna wait another day or two before potting this into a solo cup. But dang did these two roots grow quickly! No sign of them yesterday.

In other news I tried my first time with auto seeds.
Well, Iā€™m gonna have to try again sometime. None of these worked out for me. Probably because they were kept under T5s instead of the LED light. (Veg tent still too full!). Could also be due to keeping the autos in solo cups but the roots barely grew to the sides. Also had some temp swings so that could have been part of it.

This (below) was supposed to be a feminized auto seed. Itā€™s a Double Grape x (Mi5 x Big Yield), IIRC, received from a member here. It started throwing big nanners so I threw it out.

Also tried with 2x Gabagoo (Auto/Reg) made by Carty, and 2x GG4 RIL Auto F5 (Auto/Reg). Most of these didnā€™t grow well under the T5 light. And one Gabagoo was also throwing nanners this morning so it had to go.

This makes my luck 0 / 5 with autoflowers :upside_down_face: but thatā€™s okay! I knew that the tent was too crowded anyway plus they all stared poorly (operator error - I left the seeds germing in the paper tower for four days too long). Only way to go from here is up!

Thats awesome Iā€™m glad to see they took so easily for you! Once they get established they take off. So be ready for it.

I think they may have come from me, and if so- they are auto regs.
Edit: if not, I do know that the Big yield x MI5 are regs, so crossed to double grape unless reversed would be regs.

Aha great to know! Thanks @tresbundles, I received these from mister :honeybee: and I coulda sworn they were marked ā€œA/Fā€ on the pack. Next time Iā€™ll try germinating more than one of these *taps head* that way the odds will be more in my favor.

Also just great to know that I didnā€™t stress them to the point of herming within 3 weeks of sprouting :joy: Honestly had me confused for a minute. I was almost talking to the plants that day, like ā€œdamn I know it hasnā€™t been perfect in here but I didnā€™t think it was that badā€

Edit: shoot, now I kinda wish I had kept both of the auto males that showed themselves. Coulda rigged up a CFL bulb in a cardboard box or something until they were ready to dump.

Youā€™re welcome, bud! I was super wrong anyway about them being mine.
The crosses I did last year were very similar after checking my notes.
I pollinated with a Spotted Limes male on the Double Grape, Big Yield x MI5, Forum Stomper x Spotted Limes, and Planet of the Grapes. So I was confused a bit with the similarities.
edit: @chronix does a lot of auto reg crosses, maybe them?

Mohg, lord of blood approves of this message. But those swords arenā€™t backhand blades, correct? You donā€™t play dex, right?! RIGHT!?!
Haha I kid, I kid. As long as you arenā€™t running around as a wizard :mage: :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
DS3 is my favorite of the souls style games and sekiro is my favorite fromsoft game.
AC6 was wicked too!

Okay back to weed :potted_plant:

Haha OMG do I play dex  No not usually! But I love the FromSoft community meme about the dirty dexterity builds
Nah, this time around I went with a STR build annd extra points in FTH. Up against the final boss of the DLC - only made a few attempts so far.
But yes I did use the backhand blades early on in the DLC :person_fencing: infused as a Heavy weapon for my STR build

Having so much fun with all the new weapons they added in the expansion. The closest I come to being a wizard is my excessively throwing the Smithscript Shield as a ranged weapon :shield:
When I play through again Iā€™ll probably have to force myself NOT to use it lol

Mostly using the Black Knight Hammer with the new deflect tear. Sekiro mechanics in ER baybee! Also had a lot of fun with the Pata fist weapon, used the sword hands for a decent chunk early on.

Okay back to weed :herb: but also Elden Ring :ring:

Back when the game was newer I made an invader character named ā€œHerba Dealer.ā€ Gave him the goofiest outfit, all red hair, and tried to make his eyes look red :eyes:
Herba Dealer is a complete pacifist. When I invade as him I always approach the host unarmed, making as many peaceful gestures as I can (wave ā€œhey!ā€, welcome, jump for joy, etc.)
When itā€™s clear to the host & phantoms that I mean them no harm is when it gets fun.
I always leave them gifts. Herba, obviously, is first. So I get to play as a weed dealer in the Lands Between  Also give them mushrooms. Behold, mushroom!
If the host is cool then I give them rune consumables when Iā€™m generous. And other random stuff.
Usually at this point if they take the herba is when I turn around, cast Catch Flame on the nearest shrubbery, and then leave their world.

Sometimes the host or phantoms kill me right away. I get it and donā€™t hold it against them. A surprising number of people actually gesture back.

The way I see it is even if I get killed I still accomplish what I intend - be a ā€œgood guyā€ invader. Because I entered their world with the intent to do no harm and thatā€™s exactly what I did.
And also, most players donā€™t know about the hidden ā€œinvasion timer.ā€ Itā€™s a mechanic to prevent being invaded too quickly back to back. Once a player is invaded they canā€™t be invaded again until 10 minutes later. (Unless they use a special multiplayer item called Taunterā€™s Tongue.)
So even if I get killed right away I still helped them by ensuring they wonā€™t have anyone else invade them for about 10 more minutes.

Someone else on Reddit made a post about playing as a character named Herba Dealer. Described a lot of the same stuff I do. Not to be a hipster about it, but  they made that post months after I had already made a Reddit comment about the same thing.

After my idea was stolen I changed the name to ā€œHerba Dealer OGā€ because whatā€™s more original giveaway than that? :herb:

Got a nice little Tuscan rosemary plant out on the patio. This little one gets fertilized with whatever is leftover from my mixed water/nutrients after Iā€™m done watering in the Tuba Fort. (below) \/

Also have an aloe plant out on the patio table - with bonus clovers (below) \/

Frog pick :frog: from Elev8 Glass out in Colorado (formerly 7th Floor Vapes)
\/

This little froggy helps me stir the bowls every day

Enjoyed some dispo Durban in the DynaVap

Unfortunately, right after I snapped that last pic I spotted a wasp flying into my patio umbrella. Fully up inside the umbrella. Uh ohā€¦
Careful inspection revealed another wasp sitting in the folds of the umbrella, on the outside in the flaps :fearful:

Nest. Wasp nest. Inside my umbrella.
This shit is the biggest wasp nest I have ever seen in person. Easily 5x the size of any other nest Iā€™ve found. Seriously, this shit would put some of our beloved sinsemilla colas to shame. Itā€™s like the size of my forearm. (Hyperbole, it is half that size at best. But still, thatā€™s pretty big compared to the usual golf ball sized nests I see.)

Aimed my can of Raid at the nest. Nothing. Misfire! Didnā€™t press hard enough? Scared fingers stopped working? Betrayed by the Raid??
Second try, take aim. About to fire when something flies out of the nest!! At that point I took off running inside and slammed the door shut.

Patio belongs to the wasps now.

Donā€™t care if all yā€™all think Iā€™m a wuss.
Had a very bad experience with wasps as a kid.
I do not fucks with wasps.

Fuck it. I rent, the landlord can send the exterminator :joy:

I made the same decision earlier this summer with the hornets that built a nest in the front yard. I donā€™t even care.

Oh no! Sounds like you need to get a pump sprayer, set it to mist mode and fill that fucker with wax and grease remover. I found that the mist is equivalent to medusas stare in the bug world. Fuckers drop mid flight when that mist hits them.
Might not be too good for umbrella tho.

Goodness, I have fallen so far behind :face_exhaling:
Both on updates and doing actual work in my garden

This post is mostly a caffeinated brain dump - feel free to ignore

Not much to report at the moment
Evidently I am testing the limit on how long my plants can veg up against the lights before they freak the fuck out. Seems I have to bend the branches over at least every week or so
Getting a good deal of practice supercropping, even if that wasnā€™t my original plan :man_shrugging:

Gotta take pics later when I check on the garden
This work day has been more draining than usual

Reminder to self: Progress is happening even when I canā€™t always see it
Every time I open the tent there is more inside than there was before
I canā€™t expect perfection, itā€™s okay to share my mishaps - especially if it helps someone else learn from them

My plants are all still alive  so thatā€™s something I can be proud of
And most of them are mostly happy
A few of them have taught me lessons of what not to do in the future

Gotta stuff some envelopes and hit the post office before checking the Tuba Fort
And then some goooood relaxation with my wife in front of the tv later because Wednesday night is Survivor night!

More to come later, along with photos :v: :frog:

Im to the point where i chopped them down about 6 inches. I used to be scared to top my plants, now i just chop them down like edward scissor hands! Highly recommended, they will be able to handle the stress in veg and will give you time to breath. As long as you leave a node there will be growth!
I even do it to my clones that get too tall too fast.

This is exactly why i started the live and learn thread. Its okay to fuck up, its okay for things to go wrong, its okay if the same issue arises a few times. You will figure it out!

This is me too. I topped all my solo cup plants the other day so I can hold them a couple more weeks before an up pot and flower. My last grow I had a couple plants cut to the point they looked like I planted sticks. I like to experiment with my methods and frankly until Iā€™ve killed a plant by playing I am going to keep pushing them. Youā€™ve got this EBF I have all the confidence in you.
