How do you keep your cat away from your tent?

We just set up our first indoor grow tent. We have two spunky house cats, one is a real explorer. My attempt to baby gate them away from the room with the tent has failed spectacularly.

My fear is that they will claw the tent or try to scale it.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Put one of those cat condos next to it maybe?
I’ve found if I keep enough smoke in my area the cat leaves the plant alone, he’s too sleepy
But hes a old stoner like me lol

Listen it’s just their house and they love to look down on me. It’s not a problem except for the hair getting on my plants. One of them tries to eat small plants when she gets the chance, but the other one just wants to hang out.

Spray bottle worked for mine. I’ve heard double sided tape can work too, they hate the stickiness on their paws.

Yeah, the hair… I ended up with a filter on n my intake for just this reason.

When I had an issue I put up plexiglass around the bottom. Can’t get through it and cannot reach an area of the tent to dig their claws in.

Also putting them next to something that they’re allowed to scratch and praising them a bunch works wonders too

A spray bottle works…well, depends on the cats.
If your cats are strictly indoor cats, maybe grow or buy them some cat grass to chew on.
Edit: Good looking cats by the way! :smiley_cat:

Make the surface uncomfortable for your cat to walk on. Double sided sticky tape works and is harmless to the cat.

Man I love this forum.

heh, yeah, I was going to ask, how can you get perfect photos of your buds if you don’t have a cat hair on it.

Lol, mine is such a prissy little thing the mere sight of mist in the air a couple feet from her was enough to never do it again

I forgot to add how to use the tape. Dont put it on your tent or the floor. Get some plywood and put the tape on that. When you are away lay the plywood around your tent. That should keep your cat away from the tent.

I have 1 cat like that. Soon as she spots me with a spray bottle she runs
My other cats can be more daring at times, they push their luck and wait till I spray them first, before listening and behaving.

Aluminum foil and some double sided tape on top …our fat cat is to lazy to jump over the obstruction in the door way but is the one who will eat the leafs up quick … our agile cat has no interest in them thankfully

Here is what I was able to cobble together from the household as a temporary solution.

It looks completely, utterly ridiculous and is functionally impractical.

But will it work?

Without plywood handy gonna try to do exactly what you don’t suggest. :upside_down_face:

You sure put alot of effort into that.
Maybe just get the cats there own tent to live in?

I hope it works out for you.
They are probably just really curious right now because it is something new in there home.
My cats get excited over a friggin box from Amazon.
Over time, hopefully the novelty wears off for them, and they forget about it.
