I know this can be a touchy subject, but every now and again someone posts a comment where they lay into people who are holding on to packs rather than germinating them (usually with the perspective that ungerminated seeds are potentially wasted genetics).
That got me thinking, how many packs do people feel like is too many packs?
I’m going to try to make a poll, we’ll see how that goes. If none of the options speak to you, feel free to chime in (or just comment in general, the poll isn’t meant to limit people).
I have been reading a lot, and some people on OG have over 1000 strains , that is a lot. So you can have as many as you can afford.

I’m coming to this conclusion myself recently, trying so hard to not buy anything that’s not for a specific project
And sharing more helps get the seeds popped sooner too, if I know someone wants something I have I’m happy to donate to the right folks
I plan to be doing more giveaways my schedule just has been nuts recently, I’ve been shown major kindness on this site so I want to reciprocate it to all I can!
The way crackpots keep whining about the whole triploid thing, and how Big Canna wants to own the rights to genetics. . … we should all be doomsday-prep stocking a plethora of seeds
LOL, I didn’t see this thread coming. I cannot speak to the amount of seeds/strains I have, as there are so many, and have zero issues with that. I was able to make a nice selection for my current bud run and will never run out of choices. I give out thousands of seeds but also make thousands of seeds. I trade my seeds sometimes to accumulate other genetics and have created a great vault of different strains.
The sad part about this whole thing is that it is a touchy subject to some. Not sure why some anal retentive folks get their Wonder Woman Underoo’s all wedged up their backsides over someone else having seeds. It’s just weird to me. Same with some getting all up into their mental health issues over someone giving away seeds. It’s just mind boggling to me. But that’s the world we live in.
In the end I say accumulate whatever makes you happy. Do with what you accumulate as you see fit and everyone who has a problem with it can go pound sand. You be you and the other opinions are just noise in the wind.
It occasionally crosses my mind that I might need these seeds if there’s a zombie apocalypse or a real pandemic or something. Sometimes I woo myself to sleep by thinking about the homestead I live in way out in the woods since the zombie apocalypse started. It’s got cliffs, water, trees and probably hundreds of bags of Happy Frog.

Seeds are like little time travelers, I think that their ability to stay in seed form until conditions are favorable is fascinating. Nothing wrong with sitting on seeds at all.
