Ya 1-2 super low stakes everyone draws out on you when u got big pairs or nutted hands…i prefer 2/5 5/10 myself
You say $60 in the 90s at Nepal huh, you may well have bankrupted that establishment lmao…
I have never gambled.
I was given $50 in chips put them thru machine and took the $40 it spit out and left .
I found that at 1/2 everybody limps which is something I could take advantage of.
Always cash games, rarely tournaments. And 5 card draw was great too because nobody knows how to play it properly.
Also they wouldn’t have to force you into getting it by having “negotiated rates”…
Wow! I never even heard of “negotiated rates” in my day.
I was backpacking on $10 per day back then…
Right, I went to a casino once with my ex wife and her granny, knowing I wasn’t in to the whole gambling thing her granny handed me a $20 new member voucher I did one slot machine lost $3 and bought a drink. On the way back her granny asked to borrow $1000 to pay her rent and bills because she gambled her whole social security check away playing slot machines like a moron.
My Big problem now is I would spend a lot of cash daily and now were we are we have no casino’s…
I lost a bag with itens who availed in 2000$ Like sun glasses and seeds.
I won a bicycle in a fun ten years ago , he’s available at 600$
Black Monday 1987 S&P trading pit fast market, I lost $18K…
WOW! That is a biggie.
Not gambled too many times but once in my life I won a $200 scratcher. Spent it on weed.
One day in the S&P trading pit I made an error…instead of losing $9K I made $9K…
i’m not a professional gambler, but i did enjoy gambling for a while. i didn’t really win anything. the best moment was when i got about 120 euros from a machine, totally drunk and betting 2 euros. by the time i left the establishment, however, the money was already gone, because i had bought all my friends a drink.
I’m not a gambler but I was in Las Vegas to see the Grateful Dead and threw $3 into a slot machine as I walked through the hotel. I won over $100 on that single pull and immediately cashed out. I spent it all at the concert on food, drugs, and souvenirs.
$100 went a lot further in 1992. I was so pleased with my windfall, but realized how little it was for the casino when cashing out. They were counting stacks of bills for the person next to me.
The most I lost was not from gambling, it was just after we emigrated to Canada we were waiting for our house to sell in the UK. The day after it sold, the conservatives in Canada took power and the Canadian dollar jumped around 35 cents in value against British pounds, we lost nearly $80,000 overnight, I was gutted.
I have won, not really the right word for it lol, but it was race course bookies loss.
I have a buddy in the UK who is a kind of Rain Man when it comes to horse racing, you can name any horse in the UK and he will give you its life history and racing specs, he was so into horse racing, he got a job as a photo finish operator for the UK Horse Racing Association, prior to digital film, when his job became obsolete.
I helped him out occasionally when the photo operators were short staffed, we worked out a system that he could let me know which horse won in a very close finish. No mobiles of walkie talkies back then. So I could lay off a very large sum of money to the course bookies, who would offer odds on which horse they believed one or lost. They sometimes got it wrong as they did that day. I laid off a very large amount of money as quick as I could before the judge got the results and announced the winner.
We made a lot of money, that is all I am going to say.
For any popo reading this, its purely for entertainment value, and fictitious, and any similarity to real events is coincidental.
Never won a damn thing other than $2 off a scratch ticket I got in my Christmas stocking one year. I used it to get another scratch ticket for $2, which I subsequently didn’t win anything on.
Every time I’ve been to a Casino (not really my vibe), my friends walked away winners and I lost. I think the most I ever lost in one GP was 57$ though. Put 60 in and cashed out my 3 bucks after losing most of it lol.
Ironic I stumble on this thread. We had a nasty ice storm roll through 5 days ago. I have a decent amount of land and from where I can get to I see 14 mature trees down. All valued around 2k some more some less. So its been a bad week. Now I have to try and skid the trunks out to lumber them out. Hopefully I can recoup some of the loss. Mother natures a bitch man.
