I think this is a good advice, plants don’t look overfed, adding more Potassium might help with that possible Iron deficiency…
about week 3 or 4 of flower i get a super bad K defficiency. I wonder if that is related to the Ca.
Could be, it also blocks it, can you get an analysis of your tap water? Maybe it’s published somewhere …
i never sent off for it. it’s definitely got a chlorine, chloramine and fluoride in it. i know people in other parts of town that have problems and have to buy water, but their ppm is 440 or something crazy high like that.
actually, i found a report…ok, cool.
Our water here is terrible with chlorine and additives. I use this for my plants and it works great:
i have one of those gravity based water kits with the staged filters. it works well, but getting 40 gallons a weeks isn’t going to be easy.
This hose solution looks cool.
5.8 is a bit low you want it to be 6.5pH. Watch a few of Bruce Bugbee’s videos on youtube. He is a University of Utah professor that studies Cannabis and goes over pH, proper DLI, etc.
it’s hydro.
We grow probably half or more of our girls in coco hempy.
Did some experimenting with how wet or dry the hempy reservoir at the bottom is. Found that if it dried out, the roots also dry out and we never saw more than a couple days growth in to the perlite. When we kept it much more wet, the roots populated the hempy res much more.
When hand watering, they get more media and once a day fertigation. When using drippers and pumps, we go with much smaller media so we can hit it several times a day, or even do some precision fertigation.
To echo what Pat Healy said, likely the media is too dry and the roots drying to grow in to the perlite are dying off before getting watered again. Coco is generally once per day at the very least. And to be honest, coco doesn’t really start doing its thing until multiple fertigation events per day.
i wish i had the same problem on every plant (i have a few other tents), then i could feel more confident it was a system wide issue. the perlite has some moisture a few inches down at 3 days when i am watering. some of them, the ones that are not doing well, are less dry and heavy with water. they don’t have any in the res but the perlite is holding onto some. the drier ones at just before watering are doing fine.
so, i did flush everything, except a new batch that had not been on calmag for so long.
the extra feed of base nutes instead of calmag and stuff seems to be working for the moment. i am going to try increasing light levels and see if they hold.
i did have two plants at least with root issues. one is an auto, shown in pic, and another is a Golden Triangle S1 that was getting the rot smell. in the past i used peroxide. i think i will have to add it back in…it’s a bit of an extra cost per grow, like 30 bucks. I thought coarse perlite would fix it, but I guess not. i didn’t have any issues for so long, but it’s like insurance. you might not need it, but if you do it’s good to be on peroxide.
did i send you those?! i only sent them to 2 or 3 people i think, threw one in a shot glass last night with some black lotus.
yes my dude, thanks. 1st seed popped just fine. i have one at f5 of flower after 50+ days of veg. it’s the one that got the end of the bucket of perlite i think. i flushed the crap out of it and it’s been perky.
I have a grow log under Splinter’s Doja Dojo.
I am pretty excited for the golden triangle as I haven’t run bhodi mostly due to limited slots for regs. I am sitting on the green crack bx from high lonesome and have had other appy crosses that were good. hopefully i don’t stress the triangle to nanners.
