Been growing for about 3 years and smoking since god remembers when now. Just built my own closet for growing and i’m really having fun getting deeper into every thing i can learn about growing these wonderful plants again. Thanks already for some nice tips i’ve got so far and can’t wait to share and learn more.

Hi all, I am from Michigan, USA. I have always enjoyed gardening and baking and the science behind both hobbies, but up until about a year ago I had never associated those interests with cannabis. However, after recreational use became legal in Michigan, I started making edibles for friends and family. I love experimenting with new infusions and recipes, but I live in an area where the closest dispensary is an hour away. So, obviously, the next logical step was to start growing my own, which quickly turned into a passion.
So far I’ve only grown photos indoors, but I live out in the country so I may try outdoors next year. Indoors I have a 8’x4’ tent with two 630w CMH lights and an AutoPot 6-pot system as well as a 4’x4’ tent with two T5 lights used for cultivating seedlings, cloning, and keeping mothers. Because most of what I grow is used in edibles, I tend to stick with strains that have sweet or sour flavor profiles. Currently, I am drying the harvest from my grow of Cherry Star (Cherry Pie x Stardawg) bred by Top Dawg Genetics. I also tried flowering out a clone of Ice Cream Cake (Wedding Cake x Gelato 33) along with my Cherry Star, but it hermied on me early in flower. I kept a cutting from it though so I can try again sometime in the future.
For my next grow I have 5 plants grown from feminized seeds and a second clone of Ice Cream Cake (purchased from a different person than the first in an attempt to find a pheno less prone to herming). The 5 from feminized seeds SHOULD be (2) Sundae Driver, (2) Ice Cream Cake, and (1) Purple Punch, but the seed bank I got them from seemed a little iffy (prices too low and zero info on genetics) so I guess I will have to wait and see if I actually got what I wanted.
On the backburner I have feminized seeds for Bubba Kush (supposedly–they were included as a freebie from the same seedbank as the others) and Kushy Kush, Jack Herer, Cheese, GG#4, Wedding Cake, Do-si-dos, Gelato, Double Chocolate, Bruce Banner FAST, King Tut, Northern Lights, and Cinderella 99 bred by Canuk Seeds. I also have some regular Cityslicker seeds from Greenpoint.
I’m already eyeing more seeds and keep clones of every plant I grow, so it is clear that I am going to become somewhat of a hoarder. I can definitely see myself experimenting with genetics and breeding somewhere down the line too. Overall, I am just interested in learning as much as I can and trying new things and hopefully gaining enough experience to contribute more here in the future.

Did you get the Orange Puck from TNSB? I purchased one and it has those 4 strains from Canuk seeds.
Hopefully you do some journals on your grows. Always like to learn from others.

Yep! Actually all my Canuk seeds were in pucks from TNSB. They’ve been having some great sales lately, and I couldn’t resist.

They have been. I got a few seeds from them. I plan on dropping the puck in November. Some nice strains in them.

new grower. I have been lurking here for 5 months, and feel like I already know many of you. I have waited to join just in case this was some elaborate DEA sting operation. I’m still not 100% convinced.
About me: I am a smart-ass, opinionated, redheaded empress with an extremely low tolerance threshold for stupid and/or mean. I utilize cannabis to help with anxiety, depression, insomnia, and putting up with people’s bullshit. I am a compulsive gatherer of information, a data junkie, a cat lover and dog snuggler. I was born and raised in CO and have resided in CA, MO, MT, NC, VA, and WA. I now live in an undisclosed location where it is illegal to own or grow certain plants for fear that it might somehow or another offend Jesus, although He apparently seems to have no issue with racism, incest, or inbreeding.
I love to read which causes my neighbors to look upon me with suspicion and some to go so far as to label me a witch. I am a lover of all animals except Fungus Gnats (drink Gnatrol and burn in Hell you little winged bitches) I am an artist, a mom to two grown ass kids, a servant to two extremely sweet cats, and wife to a wonderful yet occasional dumbass, half-Squatch, hillbilly musician, freelance writer, military retiree.
My first grow was in 2016. Northern Lights X Bigbud utilizing a Spacebucket with CFLs. Hubby insisted I had to do it in the bucket. I was concerned that he wasn’t concerned about smell during flower. So while it was in veg I was getting a tent, fan and carbon filter… Finished it in the tent with the Space Bucket CFL lid as light. I ended up with an ounce and a quarter. I was pleased.
I started my 2nd grow in 2020 with a Skunk and 2 Ultra Lemon Haze which I viciously murdered slowly, although I was able to make their death look like suicides. I was finally able to grow a bonzai Gelatto #33 utilizing LED (which are nowhere as easy as CFL). Which is almost done now. I would like to try killing tomato plants indoors at some point in the future. I currently have a bell pepper plant growing indoors which recently awoke from a near comatose state caused by said LED and has begun to produce fruit.
I look forward to interacting with all and to teaching others the ancient and rewarding art of growing bonzai cannabis.
