New here, trying to learn. Just received my USDA “Hemp” license 3-25-24 for North Carolina. Planning to join a lot of others in the area somehow testing .3%and under. I will be growing some unreleased triploid clones I was blessed with while learning the testing procedures. Anyone that has advice on when to test type 1 flower and still meet the compliance level please let me know.

Hey @Gra8racr, nice to meet you and welcome to the forum! I’m also very curious on the legal hemp laws of today! Pretty sure all the legal “THC-A” weed is Hemp certified as being under .3 as you said. But the laws vary from state to state, found my regulations on the state dot gov agricultural site, so YMMV. Would love to do it I know it involves state inspectors coming into your growing area, at multiple points. which I really don’t love… and you cant harvest outside a pre-approved window typically 30 days outside approval testing, and… it cant be for consumption here boooooo. final product gets another test and if it fails its sent for incineration. Grows faster than trees and tastes better, I don’t know why we cant overgrow it!

Hello, brand new to OG, been growing/breeding for 25 years but on the low down, now that Ohio is legal I’m not nearly as paranoid about showing the world my creations. Still got some figuring out to do on using this site but I definitely plan on sharing and getting to know some of you seemingly wonderful people.

@Tystick Here when I was approved for my license I confirmed for usda it’s "grow as you want, then mandatory test before harvest by 3rd party usda licensed testing agent(sample has to be taken to 5 to 8 inches from random selected top of a plant) 1 plant per acre estimated must be tested. Then if under .3% total thc(thc + (thca ×.877) harvest is no more that 30 days later. No more testing required by usd a but your allowed to take a personal test if desired. But the 30 day pre-harvest test under .3% is required. Cost for sample agent and test is covered by grower. If test is over .3% destruction of crop is required and evidence of this destruction (pictures and/or video) must be submitted within 30 days. Leaves,stems, and seeds can be kept. This is reason I am leaning toward cloning and learning breeding and creating an sop for triploid creation. I am new so a steep learning curve but I have been reading a lot of white papers on the subject.

Very awesome Gr8racr. I’m quite interested in your project and will be following along. Hopefully, there’s somebody here that may already be in the hemp program that can offer some real world insight that I do not have. .3 total THC ( THC-A +THC) is a hard number to achieve, I’d think. I had thought the newest farm bill act allowed for any THCA so long as Delta 8 was under. But it looks like I was mistaken. Keep me in the loop! will follow your grow journal if you choose to make one
