Is perlite used in storage of dried flowers?

seen a disclaimer saying shake may contain perlite so questions rose in my head

It sure shouldn’t be. Perlite dust is nasty to breath, let alone smoke.

Is this from a dispo? Because that is crazy.

That’s weird af. I wouldn’t smoke it, that’s for sure. I’d smoke moldy weed before I smoked perlitey weed.

Run fast and run far from that crap. There should be no good reason for finished product to have part of its medium in it. Clearly their practices are bad.

How the hell do you get perilite in your shake at a dispo? I feel like @DougDawson couldn’t be more right. Run. Run as fast as you can and don’t let anyone stop you. Unless they got good weed.

Like do you tip the whole plant upside down and shake it like you want it s lunch money?

Ironically I bought weed from a delivery company last year! The one ounce I picked out at least 8-9 chunks of perlite. First time ever! I instantly thought were these swept off of the floor? Haha great minds brother @ifish

That disclaimer has probably scared away soooo many! Rightfully so :man_facepalming:t2:

That or buds being recklessly trimmed off the plant and some landing on top of the medium
Or floppy unsupported branches ( lower )

Gross corporate laziness at its finest. No bugs, no toxins, but perlite ok.

Wow that’s insane, who would buy off a place that has perlite in the Herb.
How can they even sell that legally?

That’s nuts, perlite dust as already said is hazardous. I sure wouldn’t smoke it

When I mix perlite I stand upwind because the dust is some very nasty stuff.

The growers use perlite so it may be missed when they process the shake and it can end up in the shake. We have rarely seen it happen, but the disclaimer is there so buyers are aware.

this is the answer i was given im trying out some new ones next time i need to order
im done with this place

are they sweeping the shake up off the ground of something? What do they mean “perlite may be missed”

… from the sounds of it there are some terrible practices going on over there.

I’m floored.

So, my sister tried solely perlite. It was an experiment, I was interested to learn the results. She sent me one pic and I could tell. Perlite is everywhere, on her on the plants (not weed) on the pumps. She hated it and swore she’d never use pearlite alone as a medium.

Then hearing your post that now the damn perlite made it all the way to the dispo. :face_with_monocle: Use a different medium. This is obviously a problem and instead of fix it and grow better they get a warning label. Ew.
