Island Landrace & Heirloom Strains

It’s possible that the landracers prefer the pure sativas, Bodhi Aruba may be an heirloom hybrid of sorts.

Wasn’t Aruba a Dutch territory for a while? Would make sense there were a lot of Dutch genetics being grown there

Not my pic, but allegedly another shot of the Aruba line from Bodhi:

The scents/aromas are interesting for sure

Great thread, time to learn all we can about this stuff.
Heirloom Afghani, known to be a true 100% indica.

So I though hmm… How about some Kanak Balochistan into it.:thinking:

And here’s two of the testers.
One leaf was above the leaf and caught my eye, so I decided to lift the other one from under and get a picture.
Definitely unique leaf pattern for the first leaves, a sharp Afghanica look to them, only really seen on older leaf sets.

Lighting really determines the real plant look.
Metal Halide super blue bulb in veg and flowering will give me a standard outdoor plant structure.
No HPS needed. 15% extra growth with landraces could backfire. MH then supercrop to keep your structure low as you can at flip. I’ll crop anytime from day 1 to 30 days into flowering.

Thats nice @medmanbrand, I’ve seen many old school trichs have 1 inch trichomes on them.
You can see them from far away. It’s rare to get the big tall trichomes, and when you do, it’s pure stone to the bone stuff.

Have you tried it yet?

Right on, more you smoke higher you get?
Old school Colombian Gold was terrifying its effects to many.

The more you smoke it like does something over time, grow your hair long was one effect lol.
All seed plants range in effects. That’s why you keep breeding. .The epic old school power will be found. :100::dove:

Incredible. Such a fascinating fan leaf expression. I has a majestic quality in appearance. You really have them dialed in, Greg. Well done.

Thanks man, I’ve got the original parents. I put them in flowering to get a sample asap of it.
I noticed a small 3 set of leaves plant has a very large root zone. This should finish outdoors on time I’m hoping. :dove:

Since I created it in the Ozarks, I’d love to name it Ozarkistan :joy::rofl::joy:

There’s some heirloom landrace hybrids that have been accepted by the Freakers, namely Lemints. I’ll have to pitch and see, thank you for the input and pics!

Love that leaf shape, you got a thread for this grow? Always enjoy watching some Balochistan genetics at work

The Zamal Kalite Tizane is a fascinating one. I have some of those seeds, have found little to no information regarding actual grow journals. I am currently scouting an outdoor location to start those this year. Crossing it to other landrace/herilooms will certainly yield unique results, but it’s time to explore ZKT’s genetic treasures first.

What kind of smells you getting from RSC’s Crete? Is it the same source as TLT (Deliorganics)?

Yes - the one from Deliorganic.

This was not my picture, pulled it from a read it thread -

I did not see a description of the scents/aromas in that thread.

From another grower that reported to me recently that he observed sweet gassy and eucalyptus/cinnamon, however it was also a seed run and none of the flower was dried/cured for later evaluation.

While another grower on read it claimed a lime candy aroma with a motivated go-get-it-done energy.

Here’s a description from RSC for your reference:
Genetics: Greek-Cretan Drug-type Domesticate
Sourcing: Delicorganic
Purpose: Bud or hashish
Latitude: 35°N
Height: 3 to 4 meters
Flowering: 11 to 12 weeks
Regional Harvest: Second half October
Yield: 500 to 600 grams of dried flowers per plant (outdoors)
THC: 10% to 13%
Aromas: Herbal, earthy, woody, eucalyptus, helichrysum , turmeric, dittany
Taste: Hashy, herbal
High: Intense, calming, long-lasting, with slight body effect
Characteristics: Light-green / gold flowers

Cretan is a classic Greek landrace strain with a legendary reputation. Seeds were collected in the early 90’s from the mountainous region of Rethimno on the island of Crete.

Cretan is cultivated for bud production, not hashish (ie, resin), although it has many characteristics of the hash plant type. A fast-flowering strain with an incredible range of aromas, it has a complex cannabinoid profile including minor cannabinoids, medium-high THC, and markedly low CBD.

Effects: energetic and creative in small doses, but at higher doses very intense, calming, and mildly trippy.

Aromas and flavours are herbal, hashy, and woody, with eucalyptus, helichrysum, turmeric, and dittany.

Cretan doesn’t stretch like a pure Sativa but can reach 3 to 4 metres with strong branching and desriable short internodal spacing.

Finishes mid to late October outdoors in Crete, with a flowering of 11 to 12 weeks.

Cretain has acclimatized to the harsh environmental conditions of the mountainous regions in Crete. These include very hot summer days (40° to 45°C) and strong winds at 400 to 500 metres above sea level. Cretan farmers grew on rocky slopes to avoid police helicopters, so plants adapted to growing untended in rocky soil, with very little watering and no fertilizer.

Guerilla growing techniques have resulted in a cultivar showing extremely vigorous individuals that can cope excellently under many different environmental stresses. Crete has a long tradition of guerilla cannabis cultivation.

Here’s a genetic analysis of Cretan indicating a very rare landrace genotype with no known direct relatives.

This pheno is was observed with mango and pepper aroma, according to reports it may present a sweet & tangy taste with a hint of pepper.

Long flowering ~ 140+ days in situ

I’m getting a Skunk with that Skunk good burn on the backend. Nothing to celebrate yet. Because it’s on its 5th node from a sprout and was flipped to flowering 4 days ago.

In testing now, which meabs some bokashi and mostly rabbit with duck manure. Overwatered, away from light, underwatered. Dose of calmag, Jack’s nutrients, meal worm frags. I’m looking to punish them lol

Then I let them sit in low light for months, this will show a herm issues. At least from my experience. 1 male I had after 2 months turned female. No sign at any time during the season.

I do the same to get males to turn female. Never use them to Feminize anything. But that’s how I get plants to change.

If they don’t change , then that’s a solid breeder to use. :100::dove:

Are you gathering duck manure from a local pond? How are you preparing it for horticultural purposes? I also have a source for duck manure, have pondering using it.
