Issues controlling RH month into flower

You can hear the compressor and it will be pumping out hot(dehumidied) air. Sometime fan turns off sometimes it doesn’t.

Ok well I definitely have times where it stops pumping water. I just assumed it was “on” because the fans running and unit still had power.

Does your fan usually put off warm air? Just went and checked on them back to 45RH and 50RH on another unit both set to fan speed high and 45RH on the setting.

The one showing 50RH has the top fan blowing super warm air. The one showing 45RH is blowing cool air out the top… seems weird they are different

Only when the compressor is on is the air warm(dehumidified). That is it cycling Or pumping out the tank when it’s cool air. When the tank is full and emptying(30 minutes) the dehu is off and will not turn on until bucket is empty, fan runs but that’s it.

Once they reach the set humidity they will shut off or at least blow cool air till the humidity climbs to your set point . They then should cut in and blow warm air again .

Do you know what kind of power it uses when not dehumidifying is it the same?

My 50l only pulls about 12w from the wall when the compressor isn’t running (which unfortunately it does most of the time). It’s basically a fan and led control panel at that point.

Looking at possibly getting one of these two dehumids. Both for sale local $700 for the larger stand up unit and $425 for the smaller one…. Look like they may be a good replacement as opposed to my two GE ones.

The large is 1000w smaller is 680w… thoughts? My guess is w one of these I’ll never have a Dehumid issue again.

1.3w when fan isn’t running. I think 60w with pump and fan.

I’ve never used one of those big guys but I assume they are for restoration work so should really pull the moisture I’d think

Cutting a hole might be, cheaper in the long run though :grinning:

My fan always runs. Never seen it off.

Going to cut the hole tomorrow. Just really want to have the ability to flick a switch whenever and really drop things. I may get that non roller model $400 seems like a steal. Just has a small crack in the Plastic shroud

Don’t think you’ll be sorry moving to a bigger dehumidifier i use one similar to the blue one on wheels it can handle a 28x32 ft room holding it at what ever I set it to,

He has the blue one on wheels for sale as well. Wifi unit. Normally $1200 has an open box never used model for $700… my concern is it says it draws 1000w…. That’s a lot of power to fill draw all the time. Right now I got the one GE one running nonstop and the other I put on a timer to just come on during lights out to help w the increased humidity during those hours

Over kill dehumidifier will probably only run half the time compared to your small one running non stop electricity probably work out the same or less on the big one .

You think? If that’s the case I’ll get it. Wasn’t sure if they cycle or anything

That big machine might only run a third of the time your small one does .

Is it poor practice to water during lights out? My lunch break is 4hrs or so prior to my lights flicking on and I’d prefer to water them then vs when I’m off work and all my friends are going out.

I’d only water during dark period if the plant needs absolutely dictate it (I.e. they dry down too hard overnight).

Even if you can get your night humidity levels under control (humidity control - major reason not to water during dark), it’s still not best as I think it’s generally accepted that the rate of plant transpiration is at least reduced during dark.

“Transpiration before fertigation” is a buzz phrase of commercial growers, which means let the plants wake up and start drinking before you feed them.
