Hi Jaws, …just a thought, because I’m still looking out for a good Durban Poison, …but I came across an old “1989 Seed Bank Catalogue” - they have Durban Poison listed as an Outdoor only strain, and in the description, it specifically states the strain “will hermie like crazy if grown indoors”…
what are your thoughts? …you think if it was grown outdoors, perhaps it wouldn’t hermie?
humm interesting but mine were s1 so that may not line up with what you read about her. im not knowledgeable on the strain to really make a truthful comment on that. i just know i did not like the way that whole run went down and it just left a bad memory for me. im not really bashing the durban just the ones i ran they were just shit and a waste on my time and space. i do not think i grew them bad enough to cause those issues i think they were just shit from the get go.
I ran 1 south African Durban poison 15+ years ago. I think it was a freebie from a serious seeds purchase.
No herms but it stretched to the likes of nothing I have ever seen to this day. Great smoke. Long flowering time. Big old cola on the top. All indoors.
So yeah I would be more concerned about the stretch then the herms.
Yeah, …just like you say - there’s winners & losers, …and I’ll stay away from that Durban. I just wanted to share some interesting info from 1989 - because I’ve had a couple of breeders comment on it’s tendency to hermie - but there are some good Durban out there for sure.
I appreciate your feedback.
all good my friends and ya some things work in our gardens and some don’t. life is way to short to be getting all pissed off about one that does not, chalk it up and move on AHHH thats what i did any ways.
We want Cheese !!! I know your felling theres a lot of cheese strains out there but nothing like the musty blue cheese from circa 2010. that shit was so nasty good.
never have i had anything from the blue cheese realm, i have some uk and ex cheese to be sent my way soon. heard lots of the blue cheese but ya never messed with her at all.
most likely dairy queen and cheese quake used the same sire…he must be very dominant.
I already wrote that I had a cheese quake with an incredible smell of cheese and grapes, and in general, one of the best varieties that I had.
