Welcome to legalization! Seriously, they put high taxes on alcohol and tobacco, why not cannabis?
Yeah seriously! Like tax the shit out of it sure but 175 for 1.5 grams 1 gram shatter and what i would assume a 500mg cartridge the shatter should be 30 the most imo i guess i just don’t understand why the product itself has to be 65 bucks.
And i get like facilities have to get licensed and that probably cost a fuck ton facilities as in dispos labs grows etc.
I guess i just answered my own question lol Illinois needs their money right idk shit about politics i just know what my family says how they’re all corrupt and what not.
all politicians are corrupt to a point right. They just remind me of kindergarteners fighting over dumb shit calling each other names
I’m sure prices will go down as time passes but damn
great to know they are so greedy the little growers will not be out of business
damn. got me to use the calculator… 35% tax… about the same as Calif.
I still fear they’ll schedule 2 it & repeal all home production, the “industry” will be all big pharma… & we’ll be back to 1983.
Hope not tho…
do not think we will go back to 1983 but then one never knows … sure hope not the DARE program was such a bunch of crap …by the time my son got to his last year in high school he said if they make me sit through one more anti drug thing i am going to start doing them … he was a conservative teenager …i think its because his mom was NOT …hes in his 40s now and lives in Colorado and he does smoke a bit of weed now and then
Jesus in Illinois we had DARE and GREAT one a dog the other a lion…if anything i was intrigued by the drugs they were teaching us not to do lol mainly psychedelics.
But now 26 turning 27 tomorrow and living in Colorado working where I’m the 3rd oldest not many youngsters smoke weed. I was surprised because before i transfered from Illinois EVERYONE except the manager smoked weed.
Everyone i knew smoked weed then coming to a place where it’s legal not many people smoke.
Not to mention how lazy non smokers can be just blows my mind
there are lazy people who smoke and do not smoke …am 63 have lived in 4 states and 2 countries … pot smokers do not come in one type or another …growers are NOT lazy …growing takes work
You’re right and i guess lack of work ethic would be better words to describe what I’m experiencing.
I get it’s not going to be a career but at least take pride in your work.
And truuuuust me i was in for a rude awakening when i started my first grow. “I can grow a plant just put it in dirt water and let it grow” WRONG lol I’m glad i decided i wanted to try it out and now when i don’t have something growing it feels…empty. My goal for growing is to be able to grow dispo quality nugs for myself so that i don’t have to buy flower (most people’s reason for growing) then all I’d have to get is edibles and CBD much cheaper than buying a half ounce edibles and CBD every two weeks
A good read
For example, while Alaska doesn’t tax their cannabis purchases, they do charge growers $50 per ounce, and growers in Maine are charged anywhere between $94 and $325 per pound on top of their 10 percent sales tax rate. These are the additional taxes that consumers end up paying per recreational state:
do not get not doing the best you can no matter what …and those small non career jobs make great references when it comes time to go for the gold …as far as edibles go if your growing its an excellent way to make use of the trim … freeze mine green until i have enough to make butter, green dragon, or bubble hash …when i started growing weed i already had a green house and flower and veggie gardens for years …so other then figuring out the light cycle thing it was just growing another type of plant to me …and hanging out on OG back in the day i made friends with some indoor growers and watched their grow diaries this was a huge advantage to me when i had to leave the green house and start growing indoor
Hell yeah! OG is amazing! I’ll never understand it irks me i usually bite my tongue cuz i don’t wanna get myself in trouble but I’ve made 2 people cry unintentionally i wasn’t in the wrong i was trying to help but came off as yelling at her. Oops don’t fuck with me in the kitchen lol
IDK WHAT LIGHTS TO GET
what i have now is okay but i would like one light or two of the same lights
i was looking around online and i saw that you should only get enough light to cover the canopy which i agree.
so would anyone know how many watts per square foot is ideal for a flowering plant i saw 32 to 50 watts per square foot.
id like LED and im not sure what number to go off of actual wattage or what it says it is like my mars hydro is 300w but the actual wattage is 132 or something stupid
i plan on going with 5 plants hoping at least 2 are female and at that point ill try and train the hell out of them and fill the tent so ill have a 2x4 space to light meaning id need 256 watts according to 32watts per square foot 400watts if i go by 50 watts per square foot im sure if i look around on here id find my answer but i always get distracted and start reading other stuff on here lol
idk guys i trust yall
The State tax’s are a killer.
50 watts foot is for HID bulbs, HPS MH, 35 or so foot is for LED’s…REAL WATTS NOT leds “comparable to”
Roughly 1/2 watts needed for LED compared to HPS…I own HPS but would reco LEDS,
Experts will be along shortly to help you, just give it some time
i have a 150 watt hps which my only problem is it gets too hot during the day and something im going to keep for supplement lighting/heat
so id be looking at the actual power draw vs like what my mars hydro said “comparable to 150w HPS” make sense haha
i ate too much edibles had a great time but tryin to look shit up on the internet i was like AHHHHHHHHHHHHH and started hunting dinosaurs (game) lol
I am finding LEDs are better for controlling my tent environment, with LEDs you need to know what the wattage they are using out of the wall. Although they sometimes lie about that as well as there equivalent Watts to HPS/HID. My blurple is supposed to draw 240w from the wall but I discovered the other day, it only has 2x 50w drivers.
Your 250w for your tent is correct. You could build one for less than $150 us from digikey. It would be 240w same as I use in my tent and flower room. That would give you an even light footprint for the hole tent. You can keep the driver outside to keep it cooler in the summer and put it in the tent for winter when you need extra heat. Save a lot on cooling and heating.
If you have any DIY skills they are pretty simple to build. Give great results, I have 2 now and will be making more as the money becomes available.
Right on! That’s what i read i just wanted to confirm i trust ya guys lol
Hmmm am i handy? Yeah i think so but not confident in wiring lights and shit i have a big fear of starting a fire lol
There is a little wiring but very simple, the driver just needs a male and female plug putting on it and everything else is a twist connector or pushed into the clips on the led strips, the only soldering is if you want a dimmer on the driver which is two wires.
I made my frame with suspended ceiling track, pop riveted together, and the strips mounted to the frame, with drywall, metal stud, tech screws. The first one took about 3 hours to build the second one took 75 minute’s.
Eeeeeeee lol while i do like building things I’m not sure I’ll have to look more into it i have some time before i get new lights
Dooooooo it.
I’m thinking roughly along the same lines. Realizing I’ll need multiple setups & will probably end up with BOTH & just move things around over time. I.e. my screw-in LEDs will last remain useful for small stuff…can always re-use them around the house too.
LED because heat & power/$, CMH because
And use that big one in the sky if you can.
