Jelly Pie grow

Marigold is great!
Chamomille is said to be like a nursing plant, aiding all the plants around it.
Clover and vetch for nitrogen.
Topdress with some grass clippings after you’ve sowed. :+1:

Can you please DM me with the details? I’m tbh stubborn and ignorant. I don’t respond publicly in a way that’s positive. However if possible please teach

I’m open to ideas, but I’m straight of
ideas

I crushed the tomato cage last night by falling on it. Just barely missed the soil. I was going to water it, but then it downpoured out. I almosf fell on the plant too. That would have sucked lol

She’s finally back to a happy plant again! The beginning of praying has resumed. It’s a rainy day out, so the soil has been kept very happy and not too wet. The catnip has had another growth explosion, so it’s safe to say it’ll choke out any lower light for the plant soon enough. Not a problem as I’ll be removing lower growth when safe to remove without stress.

I’ll also be growing some autos soon as well. I have some more pots I need to grab from my parents place. I left a lot of pots of soil there that they haven’t cared for, so I likely have dead plants and soil to reprocess before new plants get added to them. Still though I have a lot of living soil just not doing anything I want back when I can transport them.

Also…can someone point me to some quality shade netting for around the railing? That’s too much light imo from the street light. I didn’t use flash on purpose to show how much light it gets when it’s supposed to be asleep. Until I get my autos started that’s not okay for my grow like this

A friend told me about trampoline mesh to line the railing with. I’ll be looking into that.

It was watering day, so here’s new pics.

Top growth has now resumed and i should hopefully see some real growth soon. I’m a little disappointed at how slow it’s grown tbh

The roots grow too you know.

They bounced back nicely :ok_hand:

I also deep cleaned my rigs today. Only 1 is still in cleaning, but I ran out of isopropyl lol

the bigger rig had leftover residue on the outside. Cleaned them off for a better pic of it. Damn thing is a bitch to clean right, but it works really well the way I have it setup.

Watering day again. The growth has started to pickup really nicely with the increasing light throughout the day it sees. The stem has gotten thicker, it’s grown much more lowers, and whatever happened to the lower leaves seems to have been transplant shock.

I’ll be buying supplies for the plant soon. Anyone have any suggestions while I’m making a list? So far I have a kiddie pool or artificial pond for bottom watering/testing runoff, ph strips, ph testing kit(ph meter is on my wishlist), happy frog acid loving fertilizer for flowering stage, companion plant seeds, some kind of light resistant if not light proof mesh to attach to the railing(I’ve been recommended to use trampoline mesh), some mulch for the growth stage and soil protection where the plants don’t cover, and trellis netting.

I’m open to suggestions and changes to my list. My budget is around $100 a week to work on my supplies. I don’t get paid a lot, but i do have 100 a week to spend on what I like, so I’m investing it into my setup finally and doing it right this time.

Sounds great! I like keeping it as simple as I can. Very easy to overthink it

Your plant is doing fine, no need to buy anything.
Simple grass and kitchenscraps, tree leaves, nettle, dandelion for mulch.

Plants as mulch hasn’t fit my growing style tbh. Theyre always too slow growing and by the time they’d be useful I’m already harvesting. I’ll also be training this plant for once. It’s growing very nicely and looks to be a perfect plant for a trellis and tomato cage combo. As for the fertilizer I’m grabbing it soon, but it’s not being used for a few months. It always encourages flowering early if i try to use it in veg. The mulch will be needed with the rate the soil loses moisture as well. It dries out from the edges as well, but nothing I can do there outside of blocking airflow. The wind and sun intensity combo on my porch warrant either mulch or a soil cover of some kind regardless. I’m tired of water stress all year round. :unamused:

The marigold has sprouted. I maybe should have spread them out better.

The plant has started really fast growth now. The lowers are trying to become tops lol

I meant; grab some grass, nettle, dandelion etc from elsewhere and topdress with it.
It creates a barrier that slows evaporation, feeds the soil, and creates habitat for fungi. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

You can also sit the entire pot in a big plastic bag to break the wind and provide shade to the pot while still allowing it to breathe. Fold over the edges and tie a piece of string around the bag+pot perhaps.

Or maybe a burlap bag, will be cooler in summer and still provide shade and break the wind. You can use several.

I’d have to go pretty far from home to collect them. Mulch also provides nitrogen and pretty much the same benefits. I can check out straw and such though. I just need something wind proof. I’ve tried leaves and such for mulch before. They just get blown out of the pot :unamused: plus I’m allergic to grass. Almost every variety too. All common types especially. I can’t let grass touch my skin or I scratch until I bleed.

Also I’m trying to make a welcoming environment for the parasitic wasps that have shown up again. Despite my allergies limiting what I’m able to plant. I’m allergic to plant oils and pollen both. Willow trees being my hands down worst allergy. I can’t touch the bark without breaking out in hives. I have to be extremely careful after it rains too as any puddle near one can be full of the stuff. Birch trees being my second worst. Both are everywhere around here. I’ll be planting sacred basil again this year. I like to use it in cooking and it acts as a spidermite trap plant. Lemon balm I’m reseeding as I like to use it in my edibles and other weed extracts. My last planned companion plant is creeping thyme. Currently shamrock, catnip, marigold, chive, and yarrow are growing in the pot.

I see… nettle tea should help soothe your allergies.
All the best!

Honestly I just take a double dose of 3 different antihistamines prescribed to me. To be clear the double dose is my prescription. I take an inhaled antihistamine and steroid combo for my asthma and allergies, xyzal for my allergies, and a nasal spray antihistamine for my allergies also. It doesn’t help my constantly runny nose or postnasal, but it stops all the constant itching and helps with eczema tags too conveniently.
